I followed a couple of rings all the way around and forced my eyes to follow. After a bit of a struggle I was able to look at the picture as a whole and see the concentric ring pattern.
I never doubted it, I just wanted to see if I could see through the illusion.

“The name KiMo is commonly pronounced with a hard ‘K’ sound for the first letter and an ‘ee’ sound for the letter “i”. However it is more correctly pronounced with a soft ‘k’, more like a short ‘H’ and a short ‘i’ as in ‘is’. ( him-o ) Due to the use of the name outside it’s native Tiwa culture it is now a ‘dead’ word and is no longer used by native speakers.”
interesting that Hitchcock’s name as the director is on the marquee , indicating his fame as a successful director was before all those great 50’s ad 60’s movies
The little guy coming in to drink water and then resuming his post reminds me of the Loony Tunes coyote and sheepdog who are enemies at work (in cartoons) and cordial after they clock out.

Ick. Something about that says “this cannot be healthy.”

Looks a lot like yesterday’s pink beach, but without the palette knife work.
Now that’s a serious red tide!
Noooo… red tides are toxic!
Beautiful pink sand is colored by crushed coral.

Hey, little buddy. How fast can you type the complete works of William Shakespeare?
In a modern typeface or do I have to use a 16th century one?
If I can just type it into a file, the latter would take 6.2 minutes vs. 5.9.
Printing it on paper depends on your printer speed, of course.
Whatever. I’m not fussy.
Your name must be PEBKAC…
Why do you think he has a problem?
Maybe everything is fine…
Unless those weird vertical letters and possibly melted keys mean something.
You wouldn’t have a problem if you met him in a dark alley?
Certainly, but at that point he probably wouldn’t be between the keyboard and the chair.
Maybe PEBSAC….
between the streetlight and my car!
(I can’t think of another K in this moment😁)

Sorry to doubt….
Got that from a short story by Isaac Asimov from a short story.
It was, of course, from his iRobot series.

Now I need to go lie down…
Getting you nowhere…
Wow.
Cool!

You made me try. I did it, but the world turned 90º. 😀
I can do it by holding my finger vertically between the bottom edge and the center.
Have to hover it to I don’t touch the tablet.

Howdy! What are you doing burning the noon-day oil?
Who, me?
Or maybe Whoooo….
If you give a hoot.
Howly hidden nocturnal, BatBasset!
Albuquerque-1943
Showing a movie filmed in my city.
?
I cannot say where Susan lives.
Thanks!
I’ve posted it before, and I just did it again…
But privacy is always the best policy for anyone who isn’t the person involved.
Shadow of a Doubt (on the theater marquee) was filmed here in Santa Rosa.
I’m not sure why they didn’t just do it in Hollywood, but it does give a lived in, Art Deco feel to the movie.
If you ignore the malls and Burger Kings and such, the city still has a late 1930s look.
Some of the buildings still exist, and even where they don’t, the architecture and aura of the place come through.

Google translate did not give a translation for “Kimo Kiva Blatz”, leading me to believe it is a Luxembourgish name.

Absolutely!
Some of his greatest movies had already been made.
IIRC, Rebecca, The 39 Steps, and Suspicion were all in the 30s, and Shadow was post-WWII.
OK then – I’ll get my coffee.
this was the first scene after John Marley was screaming his head off (so to speak).

A submarine? That’s different. We’re usually looking for something living.
That’s a submarine? I was looking for a Gato class or a type VIIC…
Is it yellow?
Found it!
Same here.
I found it… and kept looking. It’s not a very convincing submarine.
That’s the one I found. Possibly a Holland design?
Looks more like a GoodYear (blimp) to me. 😛
