…from lower left corner count four heads up and four heads right. The kitty is in the middle of the third and fourth womens’ heads (its ears are pointing at their lips from below).<p>

Should have magnified it in the first place.
Unmagnified it still looks like a kitty to me, but you’re correct it is not and your (hopefully deleted accidental) spoiler is correct.
Not a kitty. It’s the lower half of a face with a beard/mustache. There are a couple of similar ones elsewhere. One with a blue skull cap/surgical cap and the other with a tall red hat.
North Grand Blvd. St. Louis Missouri. You are facing a little south of southwest. The picture was probably taken sometime in November. The “Lights of Old Santa Fe” was released November 6, 1944.
thanks, Alex. I know I can depend on you to get the details. I’ve posted this
thing years ago…..if you look at some of my pastels , this type of scene has
ALWAYS, for some reason, enthralled me….the theatre lights reflecting off
the rain-slick streets the passing streetcars. I’ve had a life-long love affair
with streetcars. Sadly, they were gone by the time I came of age.
If you want to ride on a streetcar you’re not that far from Toronto, and the Canadian border is opening for non-essential travel to fully vaccinated Americans on August 9th. Current fares are in the attachment below.
thanks! I’m still looking for that streetcar that I can ride downtown or to a medical appointment or the grocery…..in Toronto or San Francisco, for that matter, I would be riding just to be riding—
But you called my bluff, I’m not willing to travel just to ride.
These are apparently the statues that gave the former “Cleveland Indians” their new name, “The Cleveland Guardians”.
They are collectively known as “The Guardians of Traffic.”
The following is just to give vent to a bugbear of mine.
Broadcasters, sports or not, commonly refer to a team’s name as a nickname; IT IS NOT ! ! !
As an example:
Tthe name of Toronto’s hockey team is “The Toronto Maple Leafs.”
The most common nickname for the team is the “Leafs.”
I do wish school boards would go back to teaching grammar.
I have no court-convincing evidence, but I surmise that the members of school boards today are the graduates of the “unstructured learning systems ” that began in the 1960s, and stupidily continue to this day, (with “Common Core” mathematics being the latest blunder) and simply don’t know that being allowed to graduate because the “curve” said they could does not necessarily mean they actually have an education. If I’m right, they need one.
I finished reading “Ready Player One” today, Tuesday, July 27, 2021, and finished watching the movie about an hour ago.
The credits say “Based on the novel by Ernest Cline.” As I said of “Through the Looking Glass,” loosely based.
The novel was one take on defeating the evil corporation, and the movie was another.
To be fair Cline was listed in the credits as a consultant, so he was at least consulted on the changes.
The movie itself? It was a put-your-brain-on-hold-and-enjoy-the-fun-!-! kind of movie (the milder of George Carlin’s words do show up in the script); and I did.
The real world scenes and the virtual world scenes were easily distinguished. Somehow they managed to get that video game sheen and pixilation exactly right in the virtual world scenes.
There is also Cline’s “Ready Player Two” to read (it’s on hold) and “Armada” (also on hold). They’re both available at different branches so they should arrive at my branch by Tuesday next week at the latest. I’ll subject you to my reviews when I’ve read them or skipped through them after the first few pages.
Finally, how can Cleo lose points for her entry when she didn’t enter?
back in the 50’s and 60’s, this was the chocolate cola drink that was readily available since it was bottled in my neck of the woods s
see what I did there? bottled in my neck of the woods
When I was a pre-teen my parents took me to see “Sergeant Rutledge.” I was too young to understand all of it but I did get the message of how evil racism was.
I keep thinking of all the Bambi’s and Thumper’s who’ve lost their homes.

Cleo has such beautiful form…….too bad it was wasted on not hitting the pool. Although, I don’t think the landing would have been much different if she had hit it.
Find the kitty.
Found it while listening to the Beatles.
And then you kidnapped (catnapped) it?? Or do I have to listen to the Beatles to find it?
Catnipped.
Nope. Not with these eyes. Not at this time of night.
That was a sneaky little kitty.

Sorry, can’t see a kitty there,
I’m glad you couldn’t see it either! (If the great Susan couldn’t see it, I guess I’m okay) This was a tough one! (Loved all the faces, though)
The great Susan????
Hardly!!
Nope.
Lower left quadrant, between two women, one with headscarf, one with headband.
I hope I did not mess this up. Is my solution showing?
Yes…. I can see it.
(After you post… what you see is always what we all see.)
Luckily I’d already solved it.
….
You need to highlight the sentence before you click the spoiler tag!
You can still redo it before too many more come.
… but spoiler tags aren’t available in the edit mode, so you have to delete and re-do…
unless you know how to code it yourself (which I don’t).
…
BTW I was apparently making my solution image when you commented… and I posted it before I saw yours.
Hope you refresh soon and see this.
If you delete yours to redo it (or not) you’ll delete my comments about it too, which is good.
Thanks! Found it with your directions.

at first, that’s what I thought. but that character up there is a bit ambiguous.
the kitty you are searching for is clearly a kitty
Okay…. I made a solution image… but don’t peek too soon if you haven’t found it…
You’ll be mad at yourself cos you didn’t wait till it jumped out at you.
Solution, for when you’re truly ready…

Boy! Y’all missed the best thing…………..they’re playing a Roy Rogers movie!!!
Poor Cleo, her practice facilities are not up to standards.
That diving board looks more than a little sketchy.
What would the city do without Figaro?
Blackbird was well intentioned though maybe a bit naïve. Actually I have never heard any negative feedback about it.

Here’s Tom Leher with “New Math”
So… if the grammar of it is your pet peeve….
I understand, cos I’m way more into grammar than sports.
…
I’ve never noticed a team name being called a nickname.
Then again, I don’t listen to sports announcers….
but I HAVE always wondered why they aren’t the Toronto Maple Leaves.
“Lehrer” (which means “teacher” in German).
he had no choice but to live up to his name
Ouch! 🙁
I clicked the wrong star on the rating and it won’t un-click! Dang it!
You gave it one so I gave it 5… now it says 3.
Another couple of 5s should raise the average to just over 4…
Come on people… hit that 5th star!
but I’m sure Nighthawks knows nobody here gives him just one star anyway,
It’s up to 4.6 !

Do you know the “Ralph”-movies?
“Wreck-It Ralph” and “Ralph Breaks the Internet”.
Poor Wile E! That was quite the collection!
It had to have been fun (and challenging) to come up with new ways that Wile E could foul things up.
Quite the collection. It almost was too much by the end.
“The Barber of Seville – Figaro’s Aria” was pretty good, but I’ve been spoiled by Bugs Bunny’s rendition.
Pavarotti’s was pretty ding-dong good , too–couldn’t find video of the performance
It is not Pavarotti, but it is a skilled orchestra and singer playing it for the comedy it is.
That was FUN!
Loved Pavarotti!
Perfect combination of power and control.
If the ground had been softer, and Cleo’s paws had dug in…
would that be called sticking the landing?
It would if you were one of the judges.
Good morning Balladeers, (((((Plods))))) and Miss Susan.
Good morning, Cleo phans!
This is so much more entertaining than the real(?) games.
Sorry to be such a downer but I haven’t watched since 1972 and this year is no different.
NATIONAL MILK CHOCOLATE DAY
BUFFALO SOLDIERS DAY
NATIONAL WATERPARK DAY
Dark 85%+ chocolate for me. Y’all be good. (((((HuGz!)))))
I used to watch when the athletes were truly amateurs. I haven’t seen the games since 1984. :((
Now, Cleo on the other hand is my idea of an amateur. I’ll keep watching her!
you can be late, but avoid being choco-late
I’m a phan of dark chocolate myself…..60 to 63%.
Combining the two…when I was a youngster, my dad would (once in awhile) buy a Chocolate Soldier for my brother and me. It was always a special treat.
back in the 50’s and 60’s, this was the chocolate cola drink that was readily available since it was bottled in my neck of the woods
s
see what I did there? bottled in my neck of the woods
Wednesday Groaner?
Chocolate is one of my worst weakness. 🙂

meanwhile, out west….
Crummy! We’re getting tons of smoke way over here.
Us too. Breathing sux and I really don’t need the extra 💩 in my lungs.
I’m lucky to be up wind of it. I had enough of it last year. You have my sympathy!
Lovely job of forest management, eh?
You mean that no one has been out raking the forest?? Well, no wonder!
I need a sad face for this picture. I guess the East Coast is getting a lot of this smoke ~ and they are not happy.
Thank you! Exactly how I feel about the fires. So much loss!
I keep thinking of all the Bambi’s and Thumper’s who’ve lost their homes.
