What wild animal would sleep with its delicate ears spread out so vulnerably… Whether right in the path of clumsy humans, or surrounded by hungry carnivores.
No… But depending on the dog, it might not matter.
My little schipperke was very excitable and would have instantly hopped up to greet me, every part in full motion, even if it had only been a five minute separation.
At the other extreme, my friend’s Afghan hound, which had a lot more vulnerable parts, would have lain there unmoving unless someone stepped on her…
Or possibly called her name, but that wasn’t a guaranteed response.
I’ve never had a basset, so I don’t know which end of that spectrum they occupy 😁
I have to agree, you have to watch to the very end and then it is shown so quickly. Doesn’t help that the posted image was just a bit poooooor… Need a good imagination… At least the video is clearer…
If I’d known the answer (I rarely do) I wouldn’t have posted it.
go to the lower right, where the basketball is. now go straight up to that

Cookie is currently hiding under my legs, between my chair and the computer because some idiots in the neighborhood are shooting off (illegal) fireworks. Hope they stop long enough for me to take her out potty before bed.
So confident, so trusting….
It just shows how domesticated dogs have become.

I don’t know if that is trusting. Do you think you could get within 20′ of that dog without your footsteps being heard?

Looks like smooth sailing from here, Popeye! Put the pedal to the metal!

That accidental sign is very funny at the foot of the bed.

See what happens when Frank Lloyd Wright runs amok?
It’s a garden cottage/apartment in the countryside. And it looks as though someone’s recently been there.
The Google maps car.
It goes everywhere.

James Montgomery Flagg is almost certainly the best known American patriotic poster artist….
He created many recruitment posters, not only this, but arguably the most famous one… which is also his best known work…
The pointing Uncle Sam, which has his own face!
I’d rather not talk about it…
😀
Nope, me either.
BUNNY!
Hiding in the tree?

I watched the video and still couldn’t see it.
Then I read the comments… It’s so tiny and non elephant looking, it’s ridiculous.

According to the commentary that’s supposed to be the spine of a book.
I wonder if ANYONE found it.
I’d have given this one a pass!
Funny cos it’s Dudolf and his stuff is very rarely this difficult.
Happy Forth of July, my American cousins!
Thank you! 🙂
Happy 4th of July to you too…
I mean, it’s the fourth there too, so have a happy one, even if it’s not your Independence Day!
Good call with the President’s Own. They are as fine a concert band as you’ll find anywhere on Earth. Tough auditions to get in.
A number of places in the PNW have opted out of fireworks for laser and drone shows.
Oops… Sorry I’m late with the music!
once again… a few Revolutionary War tunes for our marching band:
[audio src="https://archive.org/details/MusicOfTheRevolutionaryWar/EarlofDorchestersMarch.mp3" /]
It starts with a tune I picked out for such a small band…
If you let it keep going it runs through lots more.
Or you can just go to….

and choose your own.
This year WordPress keeps adding HTML to the first link to make it audio source code which we don’t need in these comments.
I go to fix it and the extra coding is gone…. there’s nothing to remove.
It stays ok for a while but then it mysteriously comes back.
Just use the 2nd link, and go to the Earl of Dorchester’s March.
Meant to say earlier that I love the marching bassets and the fireworks animations.
Happy Independence Day!
Trying to set off some more fireworks for tonight….
I was having trouble with them last night …
Hope I fixed them just in time for tonight!
