I love the fact that so many mustangs still exist. Since many are late or post-war aircraft that never saw combat, they are often painted with the identities of combat aircraft. At the Gathering of Mustangs in 2007, there were 67 flying examples. There were three schemes (ID numbers, tail numbers, names, and colors) that were repeated on more than one plane. So, the closest I have to this particular one has the name in a different color:
These guys were identified on different sites as two different breeds that look a lot alike, but are not closely related.
Some said they were Mudi, a Hungarian herding breed, and some said they were Croatian sheepdogs.
I looked up both, and searched other images….
Both are about the same small-medium size, though Croatian sheepdogs can be slightly taller, up to 21″ rather than 19″.
Both are intelligent, bark a lot and herd well.
They have similar coats, but only Croatian Sheepdogs were described as soft.
Mudis seem to have slightly skinnier, pointier faces and bodies.
I really think these look more like the Croatian Sheepdogs than the Mudis I saw.
Dang if i haven’t already had a bite on the house.
My Realtor hasn’t even come by yet.
Dang. It’s also getting very real.
And very scary, for some reason… :-I
.
Is it just me or does a Dalmatian look kinda like a spotted Lab?
Sorry…. I don’t think so.
They’re around the same height, I’d say…. but labs are chunkier and shorter legged, and weigh more.
Dalmatians look like ballet dancers next to labs.
…
In spite of the fact that I think Dals are prettier and more graceful, I wouldn’t want one.
I knew a couple who bred them… Actually, IMHO, irresponsible people who shouldn’t have owned any dogs, much less been dog breeders.
Maybe it was them, maybe the breed… But their dals were hyper, overactive, stubborn and snappish.
They tore up the house and were never placid or cuddly…
and they were very suspicious of strangers and growled a lot, even though they knew me.
…
I’d take a lab any day over that.
I was talking about that face. 🙂
But, yes. 😀
IIRC, dals are overbred to that ballet dancer look. They are prone to broken bones and hip problems.
If these two don’t look like a husband and wife …
His parents didn’t approve… But love won out.
I want him on my team.
No mater what the team is.
Excellent timing on the .gif.
We use a lot of the British words too.
More now than we did when I was growing up… before the “British invasion” in music, and the Internet and all that. But some we’ve used all along.
Nowadays we say film and tap, for two.
A few on this list have slightly different meanings from their American counterparts.
…
Cab and taxi have always been interchangeable, among with fall and autumn.
To us, a can is what beans come in, but a tin is a reusable metal container.
Drapes tend to be longer and heavier than curtains… More formal.
Except for theater curtains, which are more like drapes.
As a child I called my regular jeans dungarees. I never hear that anymore. Oh… And there was a song… “Dungaree Doll.”
Pavement is an area of cement or blacktop, like a street or playground… but not usually the sidewalk.
You go away on vacation. You can go someplace to take a holiday, but more often we mean a special day, like Christmas.
….
I hear English people use more American words than they did back then too.
I hear them on YouTube say mugs of coffee, TV, you guys, and even… gasp…. cookies.
My English friends who came here in the 70s still cling to beakers, telly, you types, and biscuits.
Biscuits are the ones you pour gravy over. 🙂
Yeah… I should probably have mentioned those a bit more clearly.
I referred to them at the end, but I guess I was assuming people knew those four words
Eraser and rubber always made me smile.
Yes…. I was kind of trying to concentrate on words with only slightly different meanings, not completely different.
But I should have mentioned the American meaning(s) of rubber…
Rubbers (both kinds) here are protective gear… the plural kind, which you rarely see any more, go on over your shoes, to prevent wet feet.
The other kind protects against the little guys I think we saw a picture of yesterday, unless those weren’t what I thought😁.
I also smile at the difference in “knock you up”.
,.
From his blue period no doubt.
..
That won the air war over Europe.
With a little help from Spitfires and Hurricanes…

I’ll swap you two Bugs Bunnys for it…
Goody! I’m still a youngster!
Dang! I only got two. 🙁
So far. Maybe i’ll be younger in the morning. 🙂
Got number 3.
One is more hidden than the other two.
BTW I really want to take the word “meant” out of that second sentence.
Anybody got any screen whiteout?
I had to go back to it to find #3.
Can i have one? Buddy needs a buddy.
These two look very suspicious of the photographer.
Taken just moments before the photographer found himself in need of a new pair of pants.
I’m familiar with curly coated retrievers, but they look like wavy haired labs.
These guys don’t.
They look like someone crossed a Belgian shepherd, or maybe a schipperke, if they’re small….and a black sheep!
Better late than never…. I did an image search.

He has a helmet ad googles and she has…
What is that? A flower?
I’d say she’s wearing a beret, but I don’t know what’s on top of it.
Huki is yet another German maker of tin wind-ups, in spite of the name sounding Japanese.
They also later made friction motors, the kind you push or pull instead of winding.
I don’t know how the prices compare with Marx and Lehmann… I’m not sure whether they’re as collectible.
Could be worth less because they’re not so well known, or more because they’re rarer.
That sounds like my Kiki.
“Don’t think i can’t hurt you…”
Dang if i haven’t already had a bite on the house.
My Realtor hasn’t even come by yet.

Good luck. Maybe you can be the subject of a bidding war.
♥ Do you have an idea of where you’ll go? I hope you can get a nice profit from it.
Cleo is nothing if not reasonable.
She wishes that cat were pointless, but it seems to be covered in points. Sharp ones. She respects a good point.
…
These are the early days of the EWC.
And Cleo may not have possessed as much firepower as she does now.
Regardless of her military strength, one way or the other, she never likes doing battle with anyone or anything that might win.
That’s part of being “reasonable.”
