Another fellow was the pilot, but not Gary Lockwood.
You might be remembering the name cos the mother was June Lockhart, Timmy’s mom on Lassie.
But Lockwood was on a lot of shows including a very early Star Trek. He has one of those faces you just know you saw someplace.

Every branch has a purple flower except #5.
It has three.
We had three plausible answers and not one was that one.
Sometimes puzzle creators are so focused on the solution they intend that they don’t even look for possible others….
But that doesn’t make for a very good puzzle.
