The nice thing about a black dog is that they can get completely filthy and still look good.

So can a while dog, I guess, depending on your definition of “good.”

But I still prefer a non-filthy dog, I think.

That’s a lovely and extravagant thing to do for one’s pooch. The framed photos are a nice touch.
I find myself asking “Does the dog know how to turn the light off? Maybe with a bark instead of a clap?”

Imagine squeezing in there to tape the drywall, or, lying on his back, to wire the ceiling fixture.

Now that’s devotion.

I used “Killing Me Softly” in an anthropology class on art. Was trying to explain the importance of ambiguity in art. I used it in combination with the book, “The Sorrow of the Lonely and the Burning of the Dancers” where people of one group are treated to dance by the young men of another group representing their deceased sons. The grieving and enraged audience burns the dancers to assuage their grief. Maybe you had to be there.

Is that abandoned warehouse located somewhere in Pitt Falls, Canada, perhaps? 😉

I still don’t think Lily is that evil.

Or that most of them, like Woof, Bluebell, or especially little Oliver, would agree to being evil henchcats.

Not only does the Evil White Cat™ like to steal arches, he prefers to expel the insubordinate in a parabolic arch.

He is the very archetype of the evil villain… from his depraved laugh, to his army of yes-men… err… yes-cats…. to his overarching arrogance.

Just how arrogant do you have to be, to have your “secret” hideout lit up like a Christmas tree… shining like a beacon in the darkness of the seamiest quarter of Got-Ham City?

Not only the noon-bright room lights… but the brilliant floodlamps illuminating the building front… informing the world that within rules an arch villain…

a kitty kingpin with plans for world dominance, of the criminal variety.

….

No fear of discovery or reprisal has he!

……

All the customary accoutrements of his position… a red power tie, a chained monocle, no doubt a perfect pawdicure…. give him the self assured air of a cat in charge… a cat who has plans

a cat who is going places...

a cat who … um… hasn’t yet met his match in BatBasset and Sparrow!

The Evil White Cat™ deliberately restricted the gang’s membership to toms.
She* believes in the superstition that queens are fatally detrimental to the workings of any nefarious arch plan.

queen   ►  noun 1  …

“…(We apply the feminine gender and pronoun to cats, because all cats are she; in the same way that all sluts and mares are called he, a peculiar beauty of the English language.)…”    From: “DESULTORY NOTES ON CATS” by Edgar Allan Poe.

I have just figured out the translation of one of the obscure messages I get from WordPress when a comment simply won’t post, for no apparent reason.

“Some of the required field is incomplete.”

Nothing looks wrong; no editing of the comment helps.

What it really means is,

“WordPress has suddenly decided to log you out, mid-session. You may still look logged in, but if you refresh the page, you will see that you are not, and need to log in again.”

You’re welcome.

Mom had a treadle White that she used. She preferred the speed control that she had with it over an electric foot peddle.

Back to Saturday:  Andreas Paul Weber; I don’t know what to think. Talent? Yes. Skill? Yes. Morality? Dubious in my opinion.
To explain that last I’ll use Bill Cosby. I have a good number of his comedy albums, but they’re not funny anymore; if, however, I played them for someone who didn’t know the story, they’d more than likely laugh themselves silly; as I did when I first listened to them. Any good he has done has been nullified by his evil.
It’s the same with Weber. Weber may have been against Hitler as a leader, and mocked him as such, but his attitudes otherwise were apparently in alignment with those of Hitler.
He exists, and I’m glad to have learned about him, but…..? (I can’t put it clearly without writing a thousand page essay, and maybe not then).

Yesterday: :  More great video shooting by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute. Someone was thinking when they put the descriptions and depths of the various species as captions.

Thanks for posting both.

Not only authors or authorities. Like the TV show, “Laugh-In”, when I watch it now, it no longer makes sense, in a way, I often cringe at what is said/presented. In a way, this is like nearly everything that we experience… at the time, it all makes sense and is insightful and is enjoyable, but life does change you, it molds you… and you can never ever go back to those halcyon days.

I leaned how to sew on a treadle Singer…

I taught myself to sew on a machine like this… But maybe a bit older.

It was a bit heavier looking, with red, green and gold floral-like decals… no lines on the stitch length regulator, no reverse stitch at all, and more parts exposed.

I paid $15 for it, used, at the Singer store. My dad made me lug it to the car myself, because he thought it was foolish. My mother could barely sew on a button.

It had an electric motor attached to the side… the salesman thought it had been electrified from a treadle model, but I’ve since seen others just like mine.

I made dresses, skirts and blouses with it for my junior and senior years of high school, then used it for about ten more years…. My first mini dress, first tiered skirt, first clothing to sell, etc.

I graduated in my 20’s to a perhaps 1965 model well-used Singer, the kind with disks for different stitches.

I haven’t sewed for years, but that one’s still my only sewing machine. It has made me many wardrobes, and tons of clothes to sell in the 70’s. It’s gear driven, no plastic parts. I’ll keep it.

Foolish? No!

Just for fun (I’m weird, I know) I opened up the link to the “scientific” website: “TechTrends” and its article on the “Voltizer” (invented by Nicola Tesla, no less).

Power bill before installation $251.00 per month.
Power bill after installation $25.00 per month.

We are expected to believe that a device plugged in to a standard outlet after the meter is going to smooth out ” …inefficiencies and noise on the sine wave.”    …, and there’s a “before” and “after” set of graphs illustrating this smoothing.

And this “amazing” device can be mine for (Limited Time 50% OFF + FREE Shipping!):

CA$59.00/each
Orig CA$110.00
Total:CA$59.00
(check box here) Yes, I Want Lifetime Protection
One Time Offer: By placing your order today, you can have a lifetime protection and replacement warranty for only an additional CA$9.99 per unit.

WOW ! ! ! 1/2 of $110.00 is $59.00 ! ! ! (did you know that? / I didn’t)

Incidentally, I live in a province, and have lived in a territory, of Canada (see attachment).

Line regulators are a real thing, but they cost considerably more than that. They are basically a transformer with a small bit of the winding reversed to counteract any sudden voltage spikes. They are worthwhile if your source is susceptible to an occasional surge, but most modern devices are designed to handle small spikes without any problems.

My grandmother gave me hers… I think I liked making it pop up more than actually using it.

Also it was full of her numbers and I couldn’t find a refill.
