Yesterday very early morning, I spotted some Great Tits with their puppies – and yes, they were so fluffed up that they looked bigger than their parents.

“Tit for tat” was the title of a chapter in my basic English book here in Germany.

I remember when that song was about someday, far in the future.

Neither I, nor they, could picture getting there…

And now. … astoundingly… it’s in the rear view mirror.

It’s creeping up on you….

One day it’ll spring… but you probably won’t notice.

….

I thought the world would change colors or something.

Just like I thought it would, when I was little…

Going into a pink state on the map from a green one, or from a yellow country to a blue one.

You can’t see the map color in the road or in the fields.

And for the most part, aging is invisible too,

till one day you notice some things that changed when you weren’t paying attention.

When i was taking care of mom and pop one of those would feed us for two days.
On the first day pop and i would eat a drumstick and thy apiece, and mom would have a breast half.
On the second day i would make chicken verde enchiladas.

I get them from Costco and get 10+ meals (since it’s just me). Eat the wings, legs, thighs and bony parts (that’s 3 meals). Freeze the shredded breast meat in zip lock sandwich bags and use in quesadillas, salads or chicken BBQ sandwich. Even freeze the bones and use them for stock in chicken and dumplings.

The octopus thinks his “girl” is beautiful, in spite of her stick-straight figure, and unruly mop.

The tortoise is very patient, even though her boyfriend sometimes seems a bit cold.

She has memorized a few jokes to help break the ice a little.

And the pangolin(?) pines for his love, confident that she’ll soon open up to him.

Meanwhile, he writes “cone-y” love songs.

No dogs were harmed, or even forced to wear silly hats, for this totally (AFAIK) Photoshopped collage.

It’s a repeat pattern…would make great gift wrap.

A little late, but….

PUZZLE: How many unique dogs are in the picture?

I count….

Eleven.

The one in the green hat looks like Moxie as a pup.
