The music scene was in such a transition in 1963! From the crooners to the folk, surf and soul scenes! I miss the days before FM radio when we all shared bandwith and had to put up with other genres of music.
There were some really good songs in 1963.
P.S. They were some realy realy bad songs in 1963 that were reputed to be top songs but actually weren’t top songs.
P.P.S. Art is subjective.
So I was sittin’ here thinkin’ about Paul Bunyan yesterday…Here’s a big kid with a lot of talent but no formal training. But he gets beat once and gives up. Would a great coach like Tommy Lasorda (or name your favorite coach here) just let him walk away? How many ways could a good coach work with him to improve his pacing? His swing? His stamina? A good coach wouldn’t give up on him. What if this happened to your kid? Would you want a coach to just let him slide without trying to motivate him?
Just some alternative thinking to tickle your interest. 😉
Usually, the purple stuff stays over the lakes southwest of Munich. (fingers crossed)
And that’s our daily afternoon/evening weather since the beginning of last week.
I’m fully vaccinated and still no gills!!! – Pity.

When Puff was a hit, i was a kid. I’ve been a fan of those four almost all of my life.
Four? Do you include Puff?
Three.
…don’t know why i said four. 🙁

Exactly my thoughts!
“It’s All Right” – written by the great Curtis Mayfield.

Ain’t that the truth?

Too funny!
Glad you are here. I hadn’t seen any comments from you the last couple of days. Hope all is well.
Thanks! Feeling a bit better with each day. Appreciate your good wishes, PC!!
Didn’t know you were ill. (I was incognito) Hope all is well, my friend.
Thanks, ML! Glad you had a rip-roaring time with the grands!
If you haven’t already seen it, the link below will take you to my cite for why Alaska qualifies as the easternmost state of the United States.

So far west it’s east? I like technicalities, but this one is too far gone for me.
Yup, i guessed what it would be…(Your puzzles are easier than Nighthawks’!)

But what if he were a big kid like John Henry? One win and it kills you…
Yeah, I hated that ending.
Fantastic job on this one! That’s not Cleo in the street is it??? So love all the names!
No, no…..she was behind the scenes in this film.
You wouldn’t want to cross Houndo.
Just look at the muzzle on that mug.
….and, the squinty eyes that Houndo is famous for.
Good doggies?
I guess that’s kind like when the slang for “good” was “baad”… only the opposite.
Cos there’s nothing good about them… if any doggy really needs a spanking, those guys do.
…
I confess… I haven’t seen this film, and I’m not sure whether I could watch it…
It’s more than a bit violent for my delicate sensibilities.
Seeing that poor basset lyingin the street is enough to horrify me….
If I don’t watch the movie, she’s only sleeping, right?
Is It playing at the BassetPlex IV? They have such a nice Scaredy Cat row…
I’m just not sure that would be enough, unless I spent the whole movie with my back to the screen.
What do you think, Montana Lady?
I just dunno.
…
I didn’t even go see the human copycat version Stel posted….
And I hear that’s quite watered down from the true horrors of canine mayhem.
You can plainly see that those guys are.up to no good.
Is Robert DeHoundo actually a bloodhound? I know it’s a basset movie… But casting a blood hound seems appropriate too.
I might go with you if they provide headphones with the score from Fantasia to block out the gun and howling sounds.
Martin Scorsniffer makes the best bad dog movies! I love this poster and all the puns!
Thanks!
Cleo was brought in to “play dead” in this scene. She does it so well!
Good Girl.
Another two from 1963
Music lyrics being poetry, I have no idea how much is literally accurate in this…

This popped up on fb this morning.
Sorry for the flooding…
Mama brought these darlings by to see us on Monday. She enjoyed the water dish and banana peels.
It was pouring buckets when I went to pick up my mom for our weekly Tuesday outing for shopping and lunch.
After a few miles, I came upon one of those Dept of Transportation, public works, handy dandy blinky sign that was flashing.
CAUTION:
WATER ON ROAD!
Well no kidding? It’s raining.
Could you send some of that the western states??
yeah. here, too.
See above. Something about science
Sorry…. prevailing winds and all.
