Sorry, illustrations are for “a representative” application. You’ll have to show in the “Claims” section where it says that it’s to be mounted in that orientation. Only the “Claims” contain the legal and specific description.
The county fair for a few years had a category for ugly cakes.
I didn’t like it, but it got lots of entries.
I think some people feel intimidated competing to make beautiful ones.
A popular design was bringing a rectangular cake in a plastic bin, decorated to look like a cat box… . Usually complete with crumbled cookies on top and strewn with tootsie rolls.
Any idea what the “cigarettes” are? Are they just those chalky candy cigarettes we grew up with or something different (they look a bit fatter than the candy ones).
For those who don’t know, fondant is a soft paste made mostly of sugar, usually with some butter, vanilla, a bit of water… Sometimes stabilizing ingredients like condensed milk, gum arabic, or corn syrup.
It’s like edible modeling clay, and it’s often used to mold figures on wedding cakes, or rolled out and used to frost petit fours
Thanks, I didn’t think of that. Fondant can be pretty bad, but the fondant on this cake was excellent and beautiful (yes the barrel is cake and the frosting and grapes are fondant). I honestly believed it was a wine barrel when we arrived. (Hazlett Winery, 2010).
I liked it. A cute change on the usual animated story. Showing off more of
the skills of the musicians involved in making the cartoon than the writers.
If you are really looking for music composed specifically to be silly, give a listen to Mozart’s Eine Musikalischer Spass.
And I was very eager to share something….
Which I totally forgot to say.
So…. I had to come back just to let you all know…
I talked to Montana Lady!
I called her today, which by now is yesterday… I don’t like to do it too often, because I don’t want to disturb her, and because it takes effort for her to talk on the phone.
Her voice and her hands are quite weak, so her husband answered, and put her on speaker so she wouldn’t have to hold up the phone.
But she seemed happy to get the call.
I relayed a few messages, and told her how much we all miss her.
.
“Hey, ma! What’s this thing?”
“I don’t know yet, but let’s find out together! – I’m sure our humans won’t mind.”
.
I love that tour of the garden gnome!
Here it was just called “Amelie.”
They did a great job on the posters… especially the top one.
The robot looks quite purposeful. I’m not sure what the giant donuts are doing; an offering to Neptune?
Or Saturn?
The planet, not the god 😁
Also, he called it “toilet paper.”
I was told as a kid by a teacher that those words were crude.
We could say that at home, but at school, nice people were supposed to use the original polite term, “bathroom tissue”.
That’s also what they say in tv commercials.
Hah!
I had to share that one. 🙂

I said I couldn’t look last time…
You’re not going to make me look by posting it again!
Nopenopenope.
Not for me, but if that’s your thing good luck to you.
“It’s OK, I hammered this nail here; we can hang all our weight on this one little nail. What could possibly go wrong.”
NOPE NOPE NOPE
Funny but yechh!

Somebody should have done this!

My best guess is that they’re probably fondant…

Ok… I’m posting the solution…
But I have a few things to say, first…
One… it’s not a riddle.
Two… it’s not hard… Especially not “verry” hard.
Three… finding an obvious change in a pattern has absolutely nothing to do with intelligence, much less making anyone a “genius.”
And after all that… the caption says “the person who find W”… okaaay…
The file name says “Find 3 W” … Possibly meaning you’re supposed to find 3.
I quit looking once I found FOUR.
Didn’t we do this one already?
Gosh maybe.
I vetted it for Nighthawks to make sure it was doable, and now I can’t remember whether it was actually posted!
I know we did one recently finding a 5 in the sixes.
This one was on here earlier, I remember it but don’t have the time to go back through the archive to find it, but it was probably a month or so ago.
Yup.
May 20th.
And Susan found 4 of ‘em.
LOL… That recently?
I must be losing it too!
The thing is, I do remember solving it…
But I sometimes solve these “extra” puzzles in small batches, to test them, long before they’re posted…
Solving and posting the solution on Cleo are two separate things to remember.
I keep the solution in my folder for when I need it.
…
Looking back at that day, that one didn’t have the silly caption.
Nighthawks said to find three and joked about my finding four.
Maybe he didn’t realize this was the same puzzle.
I still wouldn’t be on time …. Sigh….
The full cartoon (I have never found a “Silly Symphony” I actually like).

“Sure-Would Forest” cracks me up… especially since she sure wouldn’t!
I had the same reaction
So Little John is rank, besides being a revolting peasant?
Cold, dude!
Kudos to Scarlet for keeping a straight snout for so long.
I was here early tonight…
And I was very eager to share something….

She sends her love to everyone here.
I miss her
I was thinking of her just a couple of hours ago!
Lord NOSE I miss her too.
Good! Good to know that she’s getting along okay.
Big hugs to her.
Botanical Garden Munich yesterday:
We got rain. Atmospheric river dumped on us yesterday.
We had heavy rainfalls the last couple of days.
Flooding included.
It was rather wet when my husband took that picture.
.
Stay safe!
Our weather here often echoes Happy³’s, in pattern if not in details…
But we’ve had no rain lately.
In the middle of a cooler than normal Spring, tomorrow (Tuesday) is supposed to be 97°F/36°C, and maybe only a degree or two cooler on Wednesday.
