It’s like pictures of a real place.

Well… I suppose it is a real place. Just very small.

This layout’s scenic section is just 4’6″ x 12″.

This is all awesome! The attention to detail is extraordinary. The leaves, the detritus between the tracks, the building construction details, the landscaping, … Beautiful work.

I can’t claim any involvement in the scenic side of the layout (Yet), I bought it from someone who built it during one of the lockdowns we had a few years ago. I did however motorise the operation of the point, put lights in the buildings, add the non-scenic ‘fiddle yard’ on the left of the layout, and rewire everything.
I do have some more details that I am going to add to the layout though.

The build quality is very good.

Whoever made it… it looks incredible.

I was fooled a bit by the backdrop…. It doesn’t look like it’s only a foot wide, cos they did such a good job of making the scene stretch into the distance.

It looks incredibly spacious, considering that IIRC, the width of an O scale car would take up about a quarter of it.

I had to go back and look at the top photo again.

That is quite the exhibit! The details and the artistry are quite exceptionable. When I was a youngin’ (around 13), a friend’s father had a 5′ X 12′ set up in their basement, and we would play around with it. Electrifying the lot, moving points, the (rather oversized) signal lights, that in itself is an art (fellow railway electrician here). For a time I was looking at Model Railway magazines — the big deal in those days was the LEDs where voltage polarity and such would produce close to the red-amber-green signals. Heady days for me, back then.
