I’ve been fortunate. Glaucoma is prevalent in the breed, but I’ve never had one afflicted. I’m sure I could deal with a blind basset, like I did with a deaf one once, but I’d rather not. Yet, there’s something uplifting to see pets with disabilities still being loved and cared for, living the good life.

One of the stars

of the…

Our Gang comedies… AKA The Little Rascals

Played by….
A number of dogs, over the years.

The original was Pal… He had a circle around his right eye like this dog, but it was partly natural, and.I think both ears were white.

The next early dog was Pete the Pup, but he had a circle around the other eye.

Then came others.

There are people who can tell you every dog who played Pete, by his spots and ear colors and which eye was circled.. but I’m not one of those people.

Still, if I had to guess

I’d say….
That I think this is Pete from the 1994 movie, because the circle is on the right eye, and that dog actor was actually named Petey… Plus the writing on his chair looks very modern.

People down the street from our former place had a dog with that kind of circle.

Best looking picture of Ozzy I’ve ever seen… And worst of Jim Morrison.

No surprises here, except that the photo of Elvis isn’t a mug shot.
You can’t wear fancy sunglasses in a mug shot.

He had several photos like this taken, I think all in 1970, and websites disagree on which is which, but most say this is the one taken for an honorary police badge in Denver Colorado.

He got another in Memphis Tennessee, and something similar when he visited President Nixon, and wanted a Special Agent Badge to help fight drugs.

I doubt that Mr Cash would think he was a rocker.

I dunno….

He started out in rockabilly, along with gospel.

I used to watch him, later, when he had his own television show, and it wasn’t really a country music program.

I remember he had Kris Kristopherson and Bob Dylan a lot. They’re not rockers but they all did some… um… rock-adjacent(?) music.

Much later he actually worked with some rock musicians. Pretty sure he’s on a Tom Petty album.

And he’s in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Actually…. yeah.

In the 50s, I think a couple of times, but nothing major.

I know once he was in a minor brawl in a gas station.

Certainly not by the stage of his career in this photo.

What is that vacuum cleaner eating … um… I mean sucking up?

I didn’t think that kind of vacuum would pick up cucumber or zucchini slices, especially at that rate… So what else could it be?

Even if it’s something a kitty ..a vacuum… might like, say… kamaboko (Japanese fish cake) which it also resembles… that little thing couldn’t eat …er… suck up so much of it so fast.

I wonder what’s in that hole, besides this young (ersatz) brave.

Maybe he’s being a little too brave, hiding somewhere his mother wouldn’t approve.

As the drainpipe on the building goes into the pavement, then I would say that this is probably a ‘Freshwater drain’, and not a sewer.

Some of these trees look like trees, and others are weird.

Maybe I should be hiding this… But I don’t see anything that looks like broccoli.

I do see (Spoilerish hint)…
One thing that looks like the weirdest of the weird trees, almost like the green trunk is cut out of plastic…

So I’m going to go ahead and guess…

that this is supposed to be broccoli…

I guess so, kinda.

But if you look closely, the top of the stem is a hollow cone, with cut-out slots… it’s creepy!

I’ve never seen broccoli you could look through like that.

Anyway… Glad we picked the same one.

Forgot to say: David Seville was the stage name of Ross Bagdasarian, who went on to become “Alvin and The Chipmunks” – all of them

He also did a version of Witch Doctor in those voices…. but this is the original.

The Prague astronomical clock was installed in the year 1410 and is the World’s oldest astronomical clock still in operation.

Yet another view of my 009 layout ‘Beckland End’. A friend had it professionally built, and is very well detailed.

Making layouts professionally… Trains, dollhouses, etc… sounds like a dream job.

I had a friend who worked at the Natural History Museum in Victoria, BC, making mostly life-size, not scale, models of everything. I’d have loved to do that.

Unfortunately not, I do build models and layouts, but I had the chance of purchasing this (And another) layout, and they were too good to pass up. My modelling isn’t quite up to this standard.
