Treats? Walk?
Who knows?

They are…
Christopher Walken, Robert De Niro, Chuck Aspegren, John Savage, and John Cazale. (I’m unfamiliar with the middle two, but that’s what Google says.)

And they are
On the set of “The Deer Hunter”, in 1978.

You either do that, or you huddle in a corner rocking backwards and forwards.

Both of my parents were living in London during the war, they both had experiences like this.
My mother told me of the morning she woke up and realised the windows of her bedroom were blown in, she looked out to see a house across the road was just rubble. She had slept through the air raid and the bomb detonation. She would have been about eleven or twelve at the time.

Don’t forget Marge… also in Germany.

SheMc lives in the Netherlands, but she hasn’t posted for a while… are you still out there, SheMc?

And even our Canadian friends lend a somewhat different, and welcome, perspective.

Who else am I unintentionally leaving out?

It’s apparently a comic based on a subplot from the Shining.

Okay, that accounts for one out of the 525,600 minutes in the year of his birth. What about the other 525,599 suckers born that year?

No. I was talking about Arnold. Now the headless Arnold.

Plus, we were all much younger back then.
Back in the days when the body didn’t hurt so much as it does nowadays, and if it did, it healed much much faster…

Lt “Lucky” Edwin Wright’s P-47D lands successfully after an 8″ hole is blown through a prop blade by an anti-aircraft round. Wright flew 88 missions over Europe in World War II and served again the Korean War, retiring from the Air Force as a Major.

The saying over here is “Haste makes waste.”

It’s pretty old fashioned… not really said much any more, so my use of it was almost facetiously quaint.
