A LINK to the website of “The Rock of Cashel” in Ireland.
It’s not quite as isolated as the picture above might lead you to believe.
It is open to public tours, and the pictures at the site makes me want to see it in person.
At first I was thinking that it’s also on the wrong side of the street, as the drivers will be coming on the left, like that grey car in the intersection.
But there are drivers on that side too… The ones going the other direction.
…
Apparently those lights are only two-directional, not four like most here, so the cross traffic wouldn’t be looking at that one, or need it to be exactly on the corner.
Is the driver of the grey car sitting on the left instead of the right? It should have right hand drive.
I can’t tell.
…
Basically, I just feel that I don’t know enough about how English traffic… especially traffic lights … worked in the early 1930’s (?)… green on top or bottom, where they sit on the roadway, etc… to tell what’s wrong.
I (accepting you’re looking North in the picture)…..
…..think it’s one or both of two things
The steering wheel on the car heading west appears to be on the wrong side of the car for Britain.
Both the traffic lights are facing south; with no corresponding north facing light on the northwest corner; the southeast corner isn’t visible.
There wouldn’t be the word “STOP” at a lighted intersection.

Though a bit less colorful than yesterday’s Lilac-breasted roller, here’s a picture of the one I saw in Botswana in 2001:

Early Cleo, in her BS days.
What? Why are you looking at me like that? Yeah, BS; before speech. What did you think it meant? I can’t be held responsible for your low-brow thinking!
I’m going to a concert tonight.
Jenny got out of the nursing facility today and she insists on going. She bought the tickets three months ago.
George Thorogood.
Beautiful.
World you call it a castle or a mansion?
The lack of windows does make it look like a fortress.
There seems to be a fancy graveyard on this side.
Is the huge door for bringing horses and mounted men inside the keep?
…
I’m curious about the tall structure on the right.
Could be a monument, but kind of resembles a hop-kiln, or oast, with a giant chimney, except it’s awfully large, and the wrong shape…
But it could be that, cos it’s carefully placed far from the main building, as though to keep fire and smoke away from the windows.
I’m thinking that it looks kinda cathedralish.
and there’s a cemetery in the front (?) yard…..
I may have seen that Abby in a video game. You have to visit in both past and present to collect the quest McGuffins.
It’s their cell phone tower. When you are that rich……..
Shot tower? Bessemer furnace?

I thought it was a good representation of Ireland’s landscapes
you’re back, alexi!!!
dunno why, but the dark clouds enhance this shot of Ireland-a better effect than the
traditional blue sky with clouds (as in the distance)

“Don’t lie to me. I’m perfectly capable of pulling my own leg.”
How is it not broke?
got it!
now what do i do with it?
Please read all instructions before beginning assembly…
,
I like how they painted their trim to match the fire hydrant.
And clash with the rest of the house, and probably the neighborhood. 🙂

When I first came to California from the Midwest, years ago I thought the houses looked dull here.
Everything neutral or earth tones.
I was used to pink and pale blue and yellow in the more Scandinavian influenced Wisconsin.
Now everything outside of California, or I should say West Coast colors, white, sandstone, adobe, etc looks like Disneyland to me.
at first, I thought this was a well-done painting–but apparently , it’s a well-done photo

I would guess the red light being on the bottom, but maybe that is standard in this time and place.
Ok, I guess I have forgotten how to do this.
You’re getting it!
You just need to make sure the words you’re trying to hide are highlighted when you click the plus sign to make the tag.
That’s the only way the programming knows which words go inside the spoiler tag.
If you didn’t mouse over them to highlight them, or you clicked somewhere else and the highlight went away,
you need to do that, or redo it, before you click the plus sign, so they appear inside the brackets before you click “Post comment.”
I put a SERIES OF ATTACHMENTS HERE which, hopefully, makes clear how to put a spoiler box in a comment.
nighthawks, do I have your permission to leave the series up?

So the “fault” is mine.
No conclusion.

I remember scratch and sniff.
There was always an aftersent (is that a word?) that i found unpleasant.
Amazing!
Cleo has come a long way!
Not that this isn’t still funny, cos it is… but we haven’t seen that cartoon-faced Cleo in years.
Convenient juxtaposition for comparison: look at her on her back and then in virtually the same position, asleep in the logo at the top of the page.
She has really come into her own.
corned beef and cabbage…
YUM!
I’m just getting started on my corned beef and cabbage. Then I have to go get flour for my Irish bread.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everybody!🌈☘️💚
claude is SO prehistoric!!!
HAPPY ST. PADDY’S DAY, C & C FAMILY!
