I’m not sure how it happened but i got a puppy today.
An AKC Labrador. (Free re-home!)
He’s only 10 months, but he is doing a good job of pushing back at QTπ.
I keep telling QT that he will be bigger than her before long, but she isn’t getting it.
He’s going to need to be bigger than her. I expect QT to maintain alpha status.
I mean, i wasn’t planning on getting a puppy.
Sure, i had thought about it. QT really does need a playmate. And the new dog parks are not getting done very fast this time of year.
But, a puppy? No way was i thinking of a puppy!
I’m a shelter pet kind of person. 🙂
Both the Banana Cream and Coconut Cream variations.

3 tablespoons corn starch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup cold milk (as above)

2 eggs, separated
1 teaspoon vanilla (real, not artificial)
1/2 teaspoon almond flavouring
1 tablespoon margarine or butter (use butter)
3 tablespoons white sugar
1 teaspoon corn starch
Scald milk in top of double boiler. Make a paste of corn starch,
salt, cold milk and sugar. Stir slowly into hot milk; cook and stir
until smooth and thick. Cover and continue cooking for 10 minutes,
stirring occasionally. Slightly beat egg yolks; mix with some of the
hot mixture, stir back into filling. Blend and cook for 3 minutes.
Remove from heat; cool; add vanilla, almond flavouring and marga-
rine or butter. Beat till light with dover beater. Pour into bake shell.
Beat egg whites till stiff and glossy; add 3 tablespoons white sugar
and one teaspoon corn starch; beat again till mixture peaks. Pile lightly
on pie filling; brown in 350° F. oven. Serves 6.
Variations
Banana Cream Pie:
After baked pie shell is cool and before pouring
cream filling (see above) cover bottom of baked shell with layer
of thinly sliced ripe bananas. Proceed as with Cream Pie.
Coconut Cream Pie:
To Cream Pie recipe add 1/4 cup shredded
coconut. Coconut may be mixed with filling but is apt to go soft and
stringy. Favourite method is to sprinkle grated coconut over meringue
before browning.
To pre-bake the pie shell prick the bottom evenly with a fork before putting it in the oven to prevent puffing. Keep an eye on it after 10 minutes until it’s the colour you like.

,
I have done posters for both Bullitt and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof! Maybe you all will be seeing them soon…..
Meanwhile, I’m enjoying both the photo of Paul Newman and Elizabeth Taylor AND the Bullitt poster!
Honestly, Stel…. I don’t mean to correct you… but you should give yourself credit.
As I recall, you didn’t do posters for those pallid human imitations…
You did the artwork for the original films:
“Basset on a Hot Tin Roof”… who could forget Liz Howler in that role? … and “Basset”, with Steve McHound.
Oh….right! I’ll get it straight yet…
Disney Villains
Hey! There I am!!
…
…purple?
yes. pur-PLE
Uh huh…..pur-PLIE
Shhhhhhhh. You’ll inspire the wrath of Nighthawks.
You see, that proves that the picture can’t be all villains… right?
I mean… um… you’re in it… so ….that’s right…. er… isn’t it Stel?
What’s that, Susan……?? They just told me it was going to be a group photo for our annual Disney character reunion.
You know, the evil queen has a pleasant shape under all that gown and cape.
I see my favorite.
Mad Madam Mim.
Pssst…. but… what about… you know… StelBel?
Our StelBel… the Evil Queen of Tampering?
(…oops…)
I_did_ notice the purple. 🙂
I love all the Disney Villains.
I see a few of my former bosses in there.
Side Note:
Rotifer (whatever’s in the middle when you read this) Thalweg hasn’t commented here or on GoComics in four days. I hope he’s okay.
🙁
For some of us, that would be a while… but Rotifer doesn’t post every day in either place.
He’s a busy guy.
Not that I wouldn’t worry if it got much longer…
but I don’t think he commented in the several days before his last post…
or that he ever drops in more than a couple of times a week.
He does travel a lot,too.
I’ve been AWOL for a while too, but I’m okay, just distracted…
I’d been planning to email you tomorrow to ask.
Don’t forget the bananas,
I’m not sure how it happened but i got a puppy today.

Quit bragging. Let’s see him!
🙂
No good photos yet. It’s like trying to catch fish by hand.
Thanks for the picture. They’re both adorable!
This is definitely….
Yow! That’s insane!
That’s a lot for fizzy water.
Does he have a name yet? Speaking purely from the point of view of QTpi, how about “PITA?”
Oops. Should have kept scrolling first.
You’re not sure how you got a puppy?
Do we have to have one of those talks?
I mean, i wasn’t planning on getting a puppy.
Sure, i had thought about it. QT really does need a playmate. And the new dog parks are not getting done very fast this time of year.

Yes! photos please
Name?
Ive been calling him buddy, so i think that’s going to stick.
Little Buddy.
And Big Buddy before you know it!
The vet said that he’ll be a big boy. Oh, boy…
Isn’t religious discrimination illegal in breakfast cereal?
I mean, Quaker Oats can’t just be for Quakers… there are so many religions!
C’mon people… we need to learn to share…
cos if we need them to be separate but equal, we’ll need too many boxes to fit in the cupboard…
Everything from Atheist Oats to Zoroastrian Oats, including Humanist Oats, and Jain, Shinto and Baha’i Oats.
…
Maybe I’ll just have some Cheerios.
Pastafarian.
gesundheit
Pastafarian oats are full of noodly goodness.
Is that what they’re calling THC now?
Um… I feel silly… But I’m not sure I follow.
Yeah yeah… I know what THC is.
And just
(talking about discrimination) does one buy Grumpyos ? ? ?
Are they in the shape of little frowns??
You just turn the box upside down.
banana cream pie
YUM!!!

HUMP DAY IS HERE……!!!!!!
Love this commercial!
What’s your favorite oats?
I know my picture’s in there somewhere…
Y’all have a great day. (((((HuGz!)))))
I have a sudden urge to find a flea market…….
How about you, Susan?
As long as there’s not a certain doll…
Don’t go to any run by a lady named, “Sally”…
Flea markets aren’t usually held in alleys, but I suppose it’s possible the “certain doll” could finagle its way inside.
Set to begin at the sale point (no lead-in).
Set to begin at
I was talking about an animated .gif starring Cleo at a garage sale.
Did I miss something? Who mentioned an alley?
