I can’t post a link of any kind to
StelBel’s Stuff
because the programming won’t let me. But a visit to her collection is a trip down memory lane.
unclear…….
are you saying to type in a quote ” (followed by an unknown number of spaces)
then the larger font pasted in, then two **?
obviously, what I just typed makes no sense…….but that’s what I got from
the instructions
to quote Denzel W. , talk to me like I’m a three year old
This is exactly the way Dennis posted it on GoComics for me in 2018.
I made it using the buttermilk option and Dennis’ mother’s method of putting it in a greased casserole dish; it rose and spread beautifully.
I regret to say I haven’t made it since then, but then I haven’t made Rum Ribs either. I’m getting lazy with my cooking, I guess.
“Alexi, this is my Irish Nana’s recipe. I am told the addition of raisins is an Irish-American thing, like corned beef and cabbage.
4 c all-purpose flour
1/4 c granulated sugar
1 tsp each salt, baking powder
1/4 c butter, melted
2 c seedless raisins
1.5 c buttermilk or milk
1 egg
1 tsp baking soda
mix and sift flour, sugar, salt and baking powder
Cut in butter with wooden spoon until it resembles coarse corn meal
Stir in raisins
Combine milk, egg and baking soda.
Stir milk mixture into flour mixture until just moistened
Cook in 375 deg. oven 45-50 min, until golden brown.
You can bake this in a loaf pan but I prefer my mother’s way of putting the ball of dough in the middle of a greased casserole dish, it spreads out but maintains a mountain shape.”
Just had it tonight with the tenderest corned beef ever.

The one shoulder gown is an intriguing look for Cleo. At least I think that’s the objective. An air of mystery, a whisper of romance ……….. or maybe that’s just the hiss of bubble blowing.
Wow, that was completely different…and crowd-pleasing.

Every boy dog in the audience wants to nibble that him off her face. I contacted the cartoonist who does Love Is yesterday. Maybe there will be one in the comments section in a few days.
A standing ovation because they didn’t have to listen to her play that horn and got a laugh besides. Good one! She seems overdressed for that instrument. Maybe she should take up the harp. Bubble gum all over the strings would be another sticky situation.
All us girls had such a crush on Ricky Nelson when I was a teen, ever soooooooooo many years ago.
Thanks for the memory.

finally figured out how to subscribe, log in, make an avatar. Hurray for me!
BTW – I’m in our 928S4 at MIS! Only 105mph because clutch is a little loose and the tires are old. Had we known we’d be doing more than parade lap speed (70) hubby might have upgraded sooner. Oh, well.
It was still a blast. Coming into the turns and the banking of about 45 degrees was intimidating and awesome.
Which flavor?
Pupplicious Bubble Gum, Strawberry, to go with her dress, of course.
I’m glad I helped at least a bit.
We know nighthawks has artistic talent….

Yeah, it is an impressive portfolio! Who knew our cartoonist was a real artist!
thanks for posting all that, Alex…..
now, how did you make the giant text you’ve been using lately?
I did not discover the method,
“Rotifer (whatever’s-in-the-middle-when-you-read-this) Thalweg” did in his comment…
at this link here
…and I began to play around with the method. Results? Not really that good.
I’ve spent an hour or so wrestling with the site’s coding and Word both to get a coherent explanation together.
I could not, so finally had to resort to making the attachment below to explain what I do.
If I haven’t made it clear, let me know and I’ll try again.
(As always, you can right click on the attachment and pop it up in a new window.)

definitely the hiss

A mute would have been less messy and more efficient – probably more expensive – stupid penny-pinching producers.
P.S. Greetings from St. John U.S. Virgin Islands – 74/81 were the lo/hi temps yesterday, today, tomorrow, etc.
looks like an adequate place to be in

Gorgeous sunset.

oooooooooo. ahhhhhhhhhhh.
Didn’t know you were going to St John. I have an old college friend who has lived there for years. I should have warned her.
Totally jealous!! We are going up to 39 today……maybe. Enjoy!
It was 56 yesterday. But……….that “S” word is rearing it’s ugly head on Tues. and Thurs. Arrrgh!
Sounds like you’re having a bang-up time, Rotifer! Good for you.
Yes, post some pictures.
find the bunny
Actually found it!
yeah, that is one elusive bunny…just don’t follow him down the rabbit hole!
I found it!! Sneaky little thing. At first I was saying ‘C’mon!’, but then I found it.
First thing I saw! (Even before I knew it was a puzzle!)
I found it, too!
Gotcha!
OOH, little black bunny!
Hey, Dennis. Cute avatar. One of yours?
No, my doggies are gone, so I decided to take a new path here.
BTW, I served Polish mustard with the corned beef!
scientific discovery!
Thanks for that laugh! It’s true what the scientists have been saying.
Now do it with a Life Magazine!
…or People Magazine!
Took me a while, but I got it. LOL.
I see that Perky and I have joined the “active member” club. Hooray!
Yes, I finally feel like one of the gang.
You are now a “trusted member.” I am at least active at last, thanks to Alexi.
While you are at it, what about “Whisky on Mars”?
A standing ovation because they didn’t have to listen to her play that horn and got a laugh besides. Good one! She seems overdressed for that instrument. Maybe she should take up the harp. Bubble gum all over the strings would be another sticky situation.
Good morning, Phellow Cleophanatics! T -23D 1H 27M
