Stel Bel – before a lot of time passes, you may want to correct the name of one of the co-stars of The Good Basset, the Bad Basset, etc. His name changes from the way he’s billed in For a Few Dog Biscuits More.
I had wanted to do that a couple of years ago, and then, forgot. Thanks for the reminder.
I made the correction, and it’s all set to go, but I want to wait until the morning and ask Nighthawks if there’s any special way to replace what’s up there with the new version without risk of messing the whole page up.
I love seeing Cleo get her due as A STAR. Plus, it’s Nighthawks & Stel Bel’s contribution to the end of sexism to cast a female in the lead, tuchus-kicking role. Eat your heart out, Cynthia Rothrock.
Stel Bel, What a treat to be reminded of all those Sergio Bichone films! And you have to admit, this time, that the human copies were pretty good. Especially the music!
I knew I should have had spaghetti for dinner, instead of finally cooking my corned beef and cabbage.

The Old West in Italy and Spain… mountains and deserts that look so familiar and so… not quite….
Italian bassets and a few Spanish ones playing Mexican and Anglo bassetss… and a few Native American ones.
Hey, if Antony Quinn can famously play Zorba the Greek, and Mickey Rooney an embarrassing caricature of a Japanese detective… why not?
Ahhh…. Howlywood. Is it any wonder that no one in the US recognises any nationality or scenery on sight?
It’s probably a good thing, for this “melting pot” nation, that it all looks the same to us.
…
Cleo Clifford… riding forth to save one little town after another…
Not really the female Perro, although the job description is similar…
because for his swagger and flamboyance, she substitutes a tight-lipped mystery… a taciturn aura of competence.
…
Dennis says I’ll break the tie, between Eastwood and Clifford, ie, human and basset…
Well, it’s true, that I always give basset films the edge…
but as a female human, I have to admit that part of me wants to vote for Eastwood…. (OK, I feel your question coming… do NOT ask!)
On the other hand,,, as Liverlips notes… putting a female in such an iconic warrior role… wow… strikes a blow for females of every species, and she does it so well.
I might have to take one for the team and vote basset….
..
Then again… there’s that tall, lean stranger, slouching in the sun….
Please… EVERYBODY, not just Grog.. don’t give it away so early in the day, with no warning !
The best thing is to highlight your text, and click the [+] tag in the formatting box… A box will pop up in which you can type “SPOILER” or “SOLUTION” as a label.
Then it’ll hide it till someone clicks the label.
That’s how I post my Saturday puzzle solutions.
….
I don’t get a formatting box when I’m on my tablet, like now…
If you don’t get one, please….at least put SPOILER ALERT in caps first, and leave some space.
Thank you.
…
We can’t all be here right after every puzzle is posted, but I really like to do them.
This time,, luckily, I did solve it first… but I was just about to give up, and post that I’d be back.. .
Oh, stel!!! You have gone over the top with this wonderful Trio!! It’s so nice to have the THREE posters, then the THREE human versions, then the SOUNDTRACKS!!! What a thoroughly enjoyable morning! Thank you x3! xoxo
Thank you all!! I’ve always wanted to put them all together in one posting, and, finally……..I could! I might be able to do that with a few other “collections” every now and then, as well. Glad you all enjoyed it!
original posters
…
I was just looking for that to post! I love it.
me, too!
An all time favorite! Love seeing the ‘voices’.
again….me, too!!

I’d be willing to bet you forgot you asked me about “giant text.” I answered you at the link below.

You mean pages on WordPress can get messed up?
I’m shocked, I tell you… absolutely shocked.
I bet you are!

Absolutely beautiful posters
I must not have been following “Cleo” at the original showing, or I was on one of my, at that time, voluntary hiatuses. I don’t recall them.
Thanks for your kind words, Alexi!!

I’m not so sure who Cynthia Rothrock is, but thanks for appreciating Cleo in the lead!
I’ve been through the desert on a basset with no name.
good earworm!
Wa Wa WAAA
I wonder at how many people will be puzzled by your “comment”, but anyone who knows the music would recognize it!!! Good one!
Pardon a personal remark… but you must be really really short.
🙂
Ay chihuahua!
Check his avatar
Indeed!
I’ve seen GROG’s avatar a thousand times, yet still had to go back to check on it!
I’ll have to agree.

Yep. Hard to choose: basset or human?
I am sure Susan will decide for us.
Or a good, decent belly-rub.
Hah!
I’ve always wanted to put the 3 posters together along with the music, and was finally able to do it!
Anyone remember High Plains Drifter?
And Hang “em High, and Pale Rider, by which time it was getting TOO violent, and I was getting kind of tired of it all.
Oooh, all THREE!
I loved those movies!
I knew I should have had spaghetti for dinner, instead of finally cooking my corned beef and cabbage.

Choices…..
BOTH. I vote both.
I had spaghetti last night.
I’ve always gone for those tall, lean strangers!
Um… it’s ok… you can tell me… I won’t say a word…..
does the mountain man know?
I think he does! After all, he is a tall lean one himself.
phew!
my, oh my, Susan…..!
me, too!
(I seem to be saying that a lot to you today! LOL)
EVERYBODY CAN BREATH A SIGH OF RELIEF
(I found the Chicken Relocation Station at Coral Bay)
do the chickens have anything to say about their relocation?
I don’t know. Do you want me ask one of them?
yes.
that’s what I want to know, as well.
Finally!!🐔🐔🐔🐓🐓🐓
I just relocated one to my oven the other day…
OK…..I lost it on that one, JPS!!! LOL
Is the entire chicken relocated?
Good morning Balladeers, (((((Plods))))) and Miss Susan.
Love the posters! And that was one of my all time favorite Clint Eastwood movies, along with Dirty Harry of course!
Good work, Stel and Nighhawks!
Have you forgotten Kelly’ Heroes? I also loved Where Eagles Dare and Play Misty For Me.
Kelly’s Heroes was great, too!
Yes….all great!
thanks so much for stopping by, Dry!
Thanks, Dry! Eastwood has had quite the career, hasn’t he?
Good morning, Cleo phans! T -21D 2H 32M
YAY a movie poster threefer! Thanks Stel
Y’all have a safe day.
You must listen to Phlash Phelps on 60’s on 6
Wasn’t aware of him, so I looked him up. It’s nice to know that I’m not alone in the weird.
I listen to him on Sirius XM. He’s the morning show.
nothing special going on today?

And, thank you, too!!
Nope! No baby chick there!
Yes there is! Magnify and look at the the yellow basket on the far left. Just to the right, partially hiding behind the rabbits ear is the baby chick.
I agreed with Perky, but you have better eyes! I guess Nighthawks isn’t the only sneaky one. Thanks, Grog!
Okay, I kinda see it. Thanks!

yes. it’s there.
The baby chick has been relocated.
Funny!
Yes! And NOT to JP Steve’s oven!!!
So somebody did a hatch-it job on one of the eggs?
aww…..
The Corn Dog?
I don’t have formatting on my tablet….
So SPOILER ALERT…
Don’t read on if you’re enjoying puzzling it out…

This one I got right away.

Three engines? Three drives? How is there enough room for a passenger?
I thought the same thing when I saw the ad in Mechanics Illustrated.
These are so great, Stel!! You have captured them brilliantly!
Thanks, PC !! Although they’ve all been rerun before, it was fun to put them all together!
Yes, it was nice to see and enjoy them all together.
Well done, Stel! I particularly liked the “Good Basset.” What strength of character!
…..as only bassets could portray!
Thanks, JPS !
