I’m back.
The operation’s result is I have less than 1/3 of my tongue left (I don’t talk good no more) and that’s now a mix from other parts of my body (either my left wrist or thigh or both of them in some combination).
I have an appointment with the plastic surgeon that did that portion of the operation on the 14th of April. I’ll have to ask her then (everyone in the hospital kept referring to her as the plastic surgeon / I’ve found out since that she is also a reconstructive surgeon which makes more sense).
I failed the Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) test, so I am on a diet of this stuff (two in morning, one at lunch, and two in evening / at least if my weight remains steady / gain or loss of 1 kg. per week is the trigger for change)…

…until at least Tuesday, April 30th when the test will be done again. I really do hope to pass it then as the stuff above ain’t no good no how.
Here’s the really exciting video they gave me to train myself to feed myself (yes, I have a feeding tube in my nose).
Yes, I do need the medicine training part too.
I am also allowed to have small sips of water, clear tea, or black coffee (the only one I can stand is the water / coffee and tea require cream and sugar).
I didn’t proof read the original comment either (best Tweety voice: “But you see, I’ve been sick”… / 08:45 E.D.T.)
Damn, boy, that sucks! Hope you get off of the tubes soon, but it still beats the alternative!
No vodka to make the rest of it more palatable? Rats!
So, what tastes do you have (if any)? Sweet, salt, sour, bitter, umami? Or do you get any of them at this stage of the game? Hope they come back.
Fight through it, this too shall pass.
Welcome home. Sounds as if you’ve had a suitably miserable experience for surgery.
Here’s hoping your recuperation goes smoothly and you get to enjoy eating once again.
I’m still recovering from some nasty infections so I sleep a lot. I tend to pick up a few days of Cleo at a time. Thanks for your concern. I am on the mend.
.
She seems friendly enough.
Yeesh!
She can’t hide her lion eyes.
“Do come in.
You smell delicious.”

A set of the famous Russian nesting cats?
,,,
It’s time, right now!
The ones in Portland have already bloomed and dropped.
And the Daffodils are popping up everywhere.
Here too.
The most famous ones in Washington DC the ones in the tidal basin, I think are almost over…
But there are others in different places there just starting.
This picture is in Japan where the season is just beginning, as well.
I guess it partly depends on the variety, as well as the weather.

Another talented doggie artist with his self portrait.
Who’s a good boy?
Love that!
Must be one of those gumball machine superballs, that bounce so unexpectedly high.
I know you can buy them other ways, but I always picture them in those machines.
According to the gif’s name, it’s a ping-pong ball.

Ok, thanks… The picture opened so I didn’t see the title.
Same here – but I do save the cute ones.
That’s when I saw the title.
A dog would have caught it on the first bounce.
find 3 white eggs
I think i have them.
C’mon, Mr Dudas… They’re all white eggs.
But most of them have been decorated.
I found three that I think have been left plain white… though we don’t know what’s going on in the parts we can’t see.
The bunnies kinda look like they used to be white eggs too!
BUNNIES!
..
.,
I only got 7 (maybe 8). Where is everyone?
Echo … echo … echo
Hellooooooooooo

OMG Alexi… Sorry to hear!
I hope it means at least they’ve stopped it now for good.
Also that you do pass that test, and that they may, in future, be able to do some more reconstruction.
Meanwhile, I know you’ll follow instructions… That’s the best way to come back as far as you can.
Meanwhile, at least “talking” here only requires finger dexterity, no tongue acrobatics!
Damn, boy, that sucks! Hope you get off of the tubes soon, but it still beats the alternative!

glad you’re back, Alex. now…get to healing!
It’s good to see you on here and I hope your recovery goes smoothly from now on
All the best to you. Word Press really needs options other than “like” for comments like yours.

Any news on ML, StelBel, or Dennis?
Dennis has been back, a little at a time.
No changes that we know of in Stel’s condition, and no word from Montana Lady.
I’m still recovering from some nasty infections so I sleep a lot. I tend to pick up a few days of Cleo at a time. Thanks for your concern. I am on the mend.
Dennis had better get back soon. My cardboard inserts are starting to get wrinkles on their wrinkles.
I’m stuck at six tonight.
A New Yorker cover tonight… We haven’t had one for a while.
I guess in New York they let kitties sleep on the candy.
Not so much here, even though in general, (don’t tell Cleo or Sheriff Monkey Blues) we are a cat-loving people.)
That reminds me…. I suggest that you find the nine differences while kitty is zonked out. Once she wakes up it’ll be harder.
In fact she might bat the candy bars around, and make a lot more differences.
I think it’s already a bit harder than the Cleo puzzles we’ve been doing… But that makes it fun!
actually got those, I usually have a lot of trouble with New Yorker ones!
X – 1 = McCracken.
well , the size and the lid can definitely be two diffs, but since they are the same object, I consider it one difference
I hope that I’ve been consistent that way.
on another note, I did this New Yorker cover as a tribute to our still-absent friend, Stel
