You can bet if a cow falls asleep on me, i won’t be getting up and disturbing her.

Or especially a rhino. I’d stay very still for a rhino.

I believe he’s an African Lilac-breasted Roller.

Be kind. Poor birdie might be colorblind and think he blends right in.

I just know he’s also got duct tape on a cut on his hand, that he probably tore off the big roll of it he uses for a cupholder in his car.

Which, BTW, probably has a toggle switch wired into the dashboard to replace some knob that broke, and a coat hanger holding a fender together that he’ll fix… .. soon.

How do I know this?
Oh.. you know… just… um…. I don’t wanna say.

And partly cos they’re standing so motionlessly, like plastic figures, just set down on the street.

I mean, of course they’re not moving… It’s a still picture. But neither is in a posture that suggests they were caught in motion.

In fact, she looks like someone from a model train layout, with that old-fashioned suitcase and coat; though, standing still with her feet together, I think she’d need a bit of a base.

I think the stillness tells a story.

Is she leaving him, stopping to take one last questioning look back?
Or coming back, to an uncertain future?
Neither looks overjoyed..

I’ve always wished they would come to my yard, but we don’t seem to have them here.

We do on maps, but I’ve never seen one in reality.
