You asked what my favorite poster is……this is definitely one of the many. The details are amazing and the expressions on the bassets faces are perfect. Great job!
I love your other poster, too, of Johnny Pupp, alone, as the Mad Basset.
This one shows everybody… well, almost everybody… it’s a crowded film…. all beautifully rendered. Maria Woofiscowa is such a lovely Alice.
I’m so glad they cast Anne Howlaway as the crazy White Dog Queen, and not as Alice… I’m tired of seeing her try to squeeze into puppy roles… and she is rather mad.
Imagine… those silly humans trying to fill these many iconic roles.
Gee, thanks, Susan! And, I agree with you about the casting….there’s only a limited amount of time that one can play puppy roles. Then, it’s time to move on…
I posted this a couple of hours ago, on Monday’s strip… with apologies for being late.
But nobody has commented there since… and now Tuesday’s page is already up.
Hope nobody minds if I re-post it… I don’t think people usually mind TWO chances to eat a big chocolate cake!
And I hope you like it, Plods… even if it’s late.
(It takes a while to … um…..bake … yup, bake… a fancy dragon cake with glitter wings… and I started so late.)
Also waiting for you… dinner for two at the Tiki… talk to me, if your family situation means you need to bring a couple more people…. and beverages of your choice.
A round of beverages for everyone here, too… and please enjoy this birthday cake for Plods!
It’s a short clip of Kathryn Beaumont (Alice in Disney 1951) doing live action and showing why Disney people were justifiably considered the best animators in the world.
Good morning, Cleo-ites and the dragon baker known as SusanShine!

NATIONAL BARBIE, CRAB MEAT, GET OVER IT, MEATBALL DAY
Another Stel-lar poster from our resident artist. The only thing that make it better is purplies eye shadow on the queen.
Y’all get over your little brother ripping the head off your Barbies, grab a handful of crab meatballs from the buffet and have a wonderful day! (((((HUGS!)))))
We are treated to another great Stel-poster! And Stel even posted the human version, as well. Thank you. We don’t have to try and click (and click) until it opens!
Again, your imagination is running rampant with the clever actor’s names. My favorite is “Walt Dogsknee’s”. You must stay awake all night thinking them up!
Oooh….glad you like it! (and the original poster, as well!)
Some of the names are easy, but yeah…..some can be real stumpers! I used to have a long list of dog-related words that was like a cheat sheet…..but I lost it.
I have to give credit to Susan for “Walt Dogsknee”. That was one of the stumpers for me.

This is going to take some getting used to. How do I change my avatar, etc. etc.
Was it WordPress or Gravatar that had tripped you up initially? For me, it was Gravatar. I’m so glad that Nighthawks was able to get rid of that god-awful site requirement. It put me in user name-avatar-password HELL for over 2 weeks!
I’m not sure. I guess it was Gravatar that was insisting I tale out a domain name before I could chose an avatar, but my first few visits to WordPress seemed to have new and different roadblocks set up ever time I visited :o(
Dry, see my comment addressed to you that, right now, is underneath the “golden forest” photo that Nighthawks posted. There will be directions to get your avatar.
3.) Come back to “Cleo and Company” and look up and right to “Howdy, Dry and Dusty”
(it’s easiest done if you use “Cleo’s” home screen with the dates because everything shows up where it’s easily seen)
and click on it.
4.) When the dialogue box shows up click on the top box; “Choose File No file chosen”
This will bring up your download folder.
Hover above your current avatar in the upmost right corner of this site.
Left-click “Edit Profile”.
Scroll down to your current avatar.
Click “You may change your avatar by using Gravatar.”
There, you click “Create your own avatar.”
Log in via wordpress (same as here).
Choose a picture, crop it and save.
Once you get a WordPress account, hover your cursor over your user name in the top right corner of the page. A small menu comes up. Click on Edit Profile Page.
This page will come up:
Over on the right, circled in red, you can choose either getting your avatar that is stored on your computer OR from media on-line.
Directions are also on the cleoandcompany home page.
Choose “Browse” instead
locate the picture you want for your avatar on your machine
choose that
click “Update Profile”
wait a moment (there will be a confirmation)
return here.

I always love the expressions Stel gets in her characters!
It’s magic! 😉
Thanks for that feedback, PC!!!! I’m glad I chose one of your favorites today. I hope to have a new poster for Thursday, fingers crossed!
Stel, I like your Basset version better!
THAT is good to hear!! Thanks, Dennis!
Here’s yet another version.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
“Don’t Come Around Here No More”

Great video, Alexi! I never saw it before.
I had forgotten that one…
Oh, Stel… it’s beeoootiful…
and yes, nicer with bassets!
I love your other poster, too, of Johnny Pupp, alone, as the Mad Basset.

This poster is so pretty.

Happy Birthday, again, Plods!

Woohoo! A cake for each hand! Sophie and Turd approve. Thank you!
I’m used to celebrating birthdays for more than one day, so I hope you are, too.
Around here we have to call it to get more than one day.
What a magical cake, Susan! Plods is indeed lucky to merit such beautiful handiwork!
Yes I am
This will blow your mind.
It’s a short clip of Kathryn Beaumont (Alice in Disney 1951) doing live action and showing
why Disney people were justifiably considered the best animators in the world.
I suggest full screen because just because.
Cool.
Haven’t seen you in ages Alexi! 🙂
Interesting to compare…
This is just a great poster from Stel Bel. Truly special.
Thanks so much, LM!! Nice of you to say!
Looks to me like the queen is saying, “Bring me my bazooka!”
Paint my roses red, will they? We’ll see about that!
Maybe Cleo was giving out acting tips?
Great dragon cake. How did you ever bake the wings so thin and airy looking?
They’re not baked…
they’re made of poured sugar “glass”, spun sugar, and XTI edible glitter.
Milt Kobayashi
She looks like her nose is cold and runny. She’s probably in one of those cold climate areas.
I agree with Farside! …..kind of a W.C. Fields type of nose!

Ha ha! Was there enough purplie there??
It’s fascinating how one of the faces in the original poster reminds me of Bette Davis in The Private Lives Of Elizabeth And Essex
Yes….I would say that it would have to be the Red Queen! Maybe that Bette Davis role is where they got their inspiration.
.,..
Could that be Alice, too? How about some info?

It’s easy when WordPress is cooperating, impossible when it’s sulky…

I’m sorry, Tigressy. There were just too many problems with Gravatar, and Nighthawks was able to disable it. Getting avatars is much easier now.
Thanks for jumping in to help!
