His expression gives it a very modern look, cos most westerners still did take it seriously, posing for posterity and all.
Also, they’d been through the era where you had to hold still for a long time… It took a while for them to learn to relax.
If this fellow didn’t know about that, he didn’t have to unlearn it.
I know there were earlier, quite serious photos of Chinese people, but it’s a huge country, at that time quite spread out, and probably a lot of people still didn’t know about photography.
Seekers Notes (I don’t see an apostrophe) is a video game puzzle, or a puzzle video game, like June’s Journey.
We’ve had pages from June’s Journey here… sometimes a captured page features the wrong title, as the game itself is moving and scrolling, so the objects you’re looking for won’t yet be in that screen shot.
I didn’t know whether it’s the same with Seekers Notes… Reviews say it’s a bit harder than JJ….
But I did see 5 cats… and the same other things DancingB found.
I almost missed two of the cats, one because it was so obvious, and the other because
Ooo, you are correct! Poor editing on my part, I saw the one you described on the initial go-round but for some reason when I enlarged it to install the circles I gravitated to the other spot, now shifted. My story, and I’m stickin’ to it!
Thanks Susan!
I do it cos I enjoy puzzles, and cos nighthawks likes it, and when I asked, a few others said they did too.
But I’m obviously not perfect, and there are always people waiting to pounce on mistakes. Some do it with great glee.
OTOH, I’ve always hated correcting people, whether it’s spelling, grammar, or puzzle solutions…. I very seldom do the first two, unless someone asks, or especially, if they’re “miscorrecting” others.
But puzzles are sort of my job at C&C, so I feel like it’s expected…
Not minding your corrections at all.
I think any one of us can get our backs up, I’ve seen some reactions here (and much more volume elsewhere), but, hey, everybody is allowed an off-day once in a while — LOL!
You and a few others here are the glue that holds together nighthawks’ celebratory creations.
This is in the Indian state of Gujarat. They’re kharai camels, from the local word khara, meaning saline.
During the rainy season, they swim, led by herders, into an inlet of the Arabian Sea, to small forest islands, where they graze on mangroves and other saline-loving plants, and drink rainwater.
They can swim almost three miles
Unfortunately, like so many animals native to areas becoming more industrialized, they’re endangered, due to.loss of habitat, from both low rainfall and humans building factories nearby.
Camel trading has also been outlawed in some of the previous trading areas.
Some of the herders have turned to selling camel milk to stay alive, but it changes their nomadic lifestyle in ways they’ve rejected for centuries.
There’s not one program mentioned here that I’ve never seen, and most we watched every week.
Oh… maybe not, cos I probably never saw Steve Allen on the original Tonight Show. It was shown too late for a kid, and he left it before I could stay up. But then he had the primetime Steve Allen Show, that we watched.

What’s with the half guy?
He’s just doing what AI does best.
Along with whatever that is, in the middle of the pile of pups on the right.
And maybe we need a better look at whatever is in front of the brown one behind them, on the grass.
Creepy.

Um…..

Yup. Five cats and a puppy! (With a bunny cutout bonus.)

It’s always scary, putting solutions out…

I’m drowning in wealth.
And yesterday’s “spa day” for the hounds didn’t alleviate it one bit, either. In fact, I think they’re shedding even faster now.
And/Or cat hair.

And titled “Boss Cat” in the UK for some reason.

Chasing hunters off the property?
(Once again I can’t make out all the action.)
Looks like a training session with an overly enthusiastic dog.
yes, training session
Faster than a speeding bullet!
I dunno… Bullet was pretty fast.
Just ask Roy Rogers.

Hey now, be nice to nighthawks! We don’t want this place to fall apart.
That implies that that hasn’t already happened
The pub-band at the pub I go to virtually every Sunday played this today (Sunday the 10th).
She is now 85 years old, and is the mother of two.
I confess… This comment is a rerun too!
Somehow I saved it… hope the image link still works!
……
Holy cow, Nighthawks.
Do you really want to steer your strip towards such a looow pun.
I mean… rustling cattle?
Besides… I have to wonder whether Cleo’s story is bull….
why would the Russells leave anything for the Leaves to rustle?
…
Anyhow, Rat usually attacks Stephan with a bat…
But hay, Cleo doesn’t horse around…
She’d axe you no questions, if you let her go unbridled…
I don’t blame you for stalling.
…
You know, I was gonna make some puns for you, but I’m not in the moo’ed…
I think you’ve herd it all anyway… so I’m just gonna bale.
Great movie!
Blue footed Booby.
How can you not love them?
Are you tryna make me cry??
«sniffle….»
Oh!
Okay, i.got brave and looked at it. 🙂
I shoulda known it would be all right.
Tears of laughter, only. 😉
