From yesterday. Now that I have heard Devo’s version of “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction”…I now know why it wasn’t a hit. Thanks for posting it.
But it was a hit.
Maybe not #1… I have no idea… But I heard it on the radio, and not infrequently.
I liked it, and Mick Jagger liked it… it was publicized that Jagger had the rights to it, and had to personally OK its release.
He did, even reportedly dancing to it when they played it for him, to secure his permission.
Cool beans! The trumpet in today’s Herb Alpert music video is the same model I play – King Silver Flair.
Okay…well, used to play. It’s been about 30 years, and I wouldn’t call my playing rusty. More like deceased.
I have to take a step back here – the music in that video is probably a Benge trumpet. The music video is the King. I doubt any of the track was actually part of the video. (Either way, it’s cool to see my old ‘brass’ in use.)
my playing stared out deceased and went downhill from there!
