Chuck Conners was 6’6″ … Somehow… maybe his proportions? … you can tell even with nothing in the picture for comparison.

In this photo he reminds me of those 22 foot tall plaster cowboys that used to stand outside gas stations and cafes in places like Reno.

That explains how he could sling a rifle like a pistol.

At the top of the Wikipedia section labeled “Modern copies” at the link below, is an article describing the rifle used in the show.     LINK     According to some specs’ I found elsewhere, the overall length of the rifle was 37 1/2inches.

His eye isn’t red. Not an albino.
Very handsome man.
Look at the size of his hooves.

Those two dogs… one at upper right and one at lower left…. remind me of a couple of guys in my high school who took Home Ec just to meet girls.

The dang sudden barking gets me.

Cleo has her own definition of “way better.”

I think the mailperson is using a different dictionary.

….

Claude, of course, merely stands by, or perhaps chides her softly.

After all, the mailman isn’t really injured… or if he is, it’s out of the frame, where we can’t see it….

so her behavior doesn’t really necessitate a punishment as extreme as a loud “Confound it!”

I watched a documentary about giraffes and the lady narrator called them Tall Blonds.
I can’t help but think of giraffes as that now. 🙂

I’m going to go with my research, and say this is a bit of photo shopping. I offer this     LINK     in evidence of that.
Extensive perusing of photographs of giraffes taken in Africa failed to find any matching images.

It really does seem to be a different photo of the same tree, which is at Point Reyes, in Northern California.

Even if it’s a different tree… which I doubt….
I’m no naturalist, but I really don’t think giraffes and coastal cypress trees tend to occupy the same habitat… unless perhaps in a zoo someplace.

I can say that I’ve been to Point Reyes a few times…. to Ten Mile Beach, and at least once to the lighthouse.

It was long ago, and my memory isn’t perfect.

I don’t remember seeing that particular tree…
though there’s a beautiful stretch of road where you can drive under a half mile tunnel of cypress.

I definitely never saw a giraffe out there.

I’ve driven in that area, also, and saw a tree similar ~ if not the same tree. I think I took a picture of it. Never saw a giraffe ~ but, would have loved to. Beautiful area!

Chimpanzees are known to be violent and having torn leopards (predators to them!) to shreds.
Hopefully that cub is a survivor.

Do you happen to have a link for that?

I’d never heard that, so it made me curious…

All I could find in fairly brief search was about one group of surprisingly bold chimps who killed some leopard cubs at a zoo, and another group who stole some prey from a grown leopard.

It was also treated as news that a leopard had been caught preying on a chimp.

Meanwhile, this pair is apparently well known…

When I found the picture it said it was a male chimp, but looking further, I see it’s a female, who had been mothering that cub, also in a zoo.

Whew.

My Boring Sunday bit:
Starting weight: 184 lbs.  /  Goal weight: 145 lbs. (-39 lbs.)  /  Weight lost to last week: 8.8 lbs. (30.2 lbs. left)
8.8 lbs.  ×  31.0078125 in.³/lb. butter  =  272.86875 in.³ of me lost to Sunday, May 8, 2022
1,209.3046875 in³  –  272.86875 in.³  =  936.4359375 in.³ left to lose.

Last week’s weight: 175.2 lbs.  /  Goal weight today:173..7 lbs.
I am now 174.2 lbs.
175.2 lbs.  –  174.2 lbs  =  1.0 lbs.
30.2 lbs.  –  1.0 lbs.  =  29.2 lbs. (balance of desired loss to reach 145 lbs.)
31.0078125 in.³/lb. butter  ×  1.0 lbs.  =  31.0078125 in.³ of me lost this week.
272.86875 in.³  +  31.0078125 in.³  =  303.8765625 in.³ of me lost to date
1,209.3046875 in.³  –  303.8765625in.³  =  905.428125 in.³ to go
174.2 lbs. lbs.  –  1.5 lbs.  =  172.7 lbs  (next Sunday’s goal weight)

I do hope the universe hasn’t decided to rename me Phil.* I re-lost the pound I gained last week.
My step counter totals an inaccurate total of 16,228 steps. It’s not yet a complete habit to attach it to my belt so I forgot it on Wednesday and yesterday.
One of the hand grips (not one of the Bianca Amor ones) I had in the car broke due to metal fatigue, so now I have to switch hands at the red lights to get in whatever number of squeezes I get it per day while driving. I can’t replace it either, MacGregor doesn’t even come up when I do a search (I’ve had them since my thirties / thank goodness they were too small to hang clothes on). *Bill Murray’s character in “Groundhog Day.”

I’m leaving the regimen alone for week nine, and I’ll see about week 10.

You can go to sleep now.   😉
