I’m not sure whether it’s obvious from all their differing representation in plays, movies, and television shows….

But…

this is …
the real Helen Keller and Annie Sullivan, in 1897, when they were about 17 and 31, respectively.

Ms. Sullivan had been working and living with Ms. Keller for 10 years, at that point, and the transformation in that time, from wild child to educated young woman was remarkable.

Yes, both right…

And they’re…
On the set of “The Horse Soldiers”, in 1959.

Sometimes it takes a village…. but we get there. 🙂

I’m surprised that that the Rolling Stones didn’t make the top ten… and even more surprised that Morgan Wallen did.

Maybe yesterday’s wolf/dog was familiar with this image, and trying to recreate it.

This is great to show people who insist that a particular photo “has” to be real, because it was “before AI”.

I see a lot of that when I’m searching images… As though nobody manipulated images 20 years ago, when Photoshop was already common, and people had been doing manual types of alterations for at least 100 years.

I used to collect humorous postcards with giant fruit on them, often from the 1930s. Everybody knows there’s no way a peach could really fill a railroad car, but they argue over a purple bird on Facebook.

I like to ask my sister whether she’s wearing snowshoes, cos it annoys her.

I’m a big sister… that’s our job.

She lives in a very modern, quite urban, apartment building in Victoria.

Yeah, I can well understand the “dig”, ’cause Victoria never sees ANY snow, let alone ice on the ponds…

How are they going to carry those bowls after they’re filled?

These are working police dogs, in China, trained to line up for their dinner.

I wondered too about what they did with their full bowls.

I figured the human server must have just filled it and set it on the ground, but I couldn’t find any more pictures.

World War One tanks shown. This recruiting poster was from 1918.

If the cat is attacking the British tanks, just which side are they recruiting for?

I wouldn’t know one tank from another….

But I just took a closer look, and I think the fierce kitty is meant to be leading those tanks, not destroying them.

He’s the fighting spirit of the attack.

One can hope!

And they are depictions of the first successful British tank used on the front lines.

So… I take it that’s a “bloom“.

How… er… well… interesting.

Um… all things considered, unless I see proof of that youth thing… I think I’d prefer roses.

Not sure what you mean… I know it’s not Edward or Andrew…

If you mean it’s Richard, not David … I get them mixed up all the time…
And I’ve heard people who should know better get their names mixed up on television.

It’s hard to explain, but I mix up their names, not their.work.

I have two different men in my memory, that somehow share the two names on a random basis.

I edited it, I’d initially put Richard, but he’s the film actor. David is the Naturalist.

I’d say the doggie is probably in the same place he was in English.

But that was a long time ago… you might want to look again to make sure.

Meanwhile I want to yell at the guy with the leash… “Pick up your damn keys before they fall between the couch cushions!!”

I don’t want to have to stay up helping him search for those too.

But it’s a dental lamp?

I was going to Google it to see what it was besides a water buffalo.

It’s going to be hard for anyone to convince me the face isn’t there on purpose.

I feel like someone looked at the design and said… “Hey, if we just put these two screws here… and maybe adjust that curve there… “, knowing they could make it into a friendly creature.

Speaking of birds I saw on YouTube…

I have a sort of screenshot app built into my tablet
A couple of months ago they added a way to capture animations as .gifs… but the files sometimes come out too big to post here.

I just tried to capture some of this very short video…. Let’s see if it works.
The voiceover on YouTube says these birds come back every spring for this treat.

And that reminds me… I guess it was day before yesterday now, that Nighthawks a picture of what looked like a very strange skinny nosed crocodile.

I said it looked like a gharial, but it wasn’t.

I came back later and explained that it was actually a trick photo, I guess you could say.

It won a nature photo contest, by being rotated 90°. But it was late in the day… A few people saw my post, but probably a lot didn’t. And I meant to post the “un-rotated” image.

So .. better late than never, maybe…

One of the most beautiful places on earth.

It featured heavily on a wonderful scenic calendar of Scotland I won from The Scotsman (newspaper)… of the 12 photos, 3 or 4 were of Skye.

Unfortunately, the mail person, despite the large stickers n the wrapper saying “Do Not Bend” AND the sheet of stiff cardboard inside the calendar to keep it flat, folded it to stuff tightly into my small mailbox, and every page was torn and ruined

But I could still (kind of) look at them, though not hang it on the wall.

Please….. Maybe I could help if you’d be more clear.
In what way is it not what you posted?

I see a video that says “Why They Cancelled 10 Cent Beer Night.” Isn’t that what you posted?

If, instead, what you’re seeing in the spot is another video you or someone else posted today, that’s a WordPress problem I get all the time…. One or two videos will sometimes temporarily slip into the wrong slots.

Usually, refreshing the page will fix it. Sometimes I have to do it twice.

BTW… It especially happens when you post a video on page two… It’ll look like you reposted something, not necessarily yours, from page one. I know that’s not what’s happening this time.
I’m just saying.. cos now I know if I see that, it’s WordPress, not you.

If it’s something else, describe what you do see there, so we can try to figure it out.

I watched what is here, what you posted, and it seems to match your verbiage. However, it did take a while for the storyline to come to the actual Beer Night in question — there was a long set-up intro prior, for certain!
