I JUST POSTED NIGHTHAWKS’ “WIFI” STRIP AT THE VERY TOP OF THE PAGE, ABOVE ALL THE COMMENTS.
CAN SOMEONE CHECK TO SEE IF IT’S THERE?
IT’S SHOWING UP ON MY COMPUTER, BUT GIVEN NIGHTHAWKS’ TECHNICAL PROBLEMS, I DON’T KNOW WHETHER IT’S A WORDPRESS PROBLEM SINGLING HIM OUT, OR WHETHER BOTH OF US WILL BE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM.
No, that is not his original post. I posted that later, a little before my comment asking for people to let me know if they saw it up there…..sometime around 11:00 PM-12 AM EST.
He tried twice, earlier, but it still wouldn’t show.
I originally got here at just about 1am EDT… so I guess Stel had fixed the glitch, and I missed all the excitement…
Today’s strip is funny… but horribly reminiscent of tutoring some computer newbies back in early internet days.
…
One problem was that, while in a lot of ways it was simpler than now, it was new… knowledge wasn’t everywhere…
People couldn’t always just ask the next door neighbor, the librarian, the kid down the street… or if they did, they got silly answers that I had to UNteach.
…
Is it “dumber” to think you can get a bag of free wifis… or to believe that a computer virus will make you sick…
…
I told someone not to use “Password” for a password… for ALL her passwords… so she changed them all… to her first name.
Another was reluctant to learn to email me a picture…
It wasn’t till she begged me to be SURE to return it…. that I realised she thought sending it meant she wouldn’t have it any more.
..
But hey…. if Claude does get some of those WI-fis… I could use some too.
It’s cherry dessert day too.
I know this is coffee cake, but isn’t it a dessert too?

Cherry Coffeecake
all-purpose flour
sugar
1 teaspoon double-acting baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
10 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 cup milk (whole milk 3.25% milk fat)
1 egg (use medium or large)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (real not artificial)
1/4 teaspoon lemon extract
1 21- or 22-ounce can cherry-pie filling
1 Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease and flour 9″ by 9″ baking pan. In large bowl with fork, mix 1 1/4 cups flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. 2 To flour mixture, add 1/2 cup melted butter, milk, egg and vanilla. 3 With spoon, beat until well mixed then pour batter into greased and floured baking pan. 4 In small bowl with fork, combine 1/2 cup flour,1/4 cup sugar and remaining 2 tablespoons butter mixture resembles coarse crumbs. 5 Sprinkle half of crumb mixture evenly over top of batter in pan. 6 Stir lemon extract into cherry-pie filling; then spread pie-filling mixture on crumb mixture in pan. 7 Sprinkle with rest of crumb mixture. Bake 1 hour or until top is golden. Cut into squares.
Notes from me:
Sift 3 cups of flour so you have enough to flour the pan properly.
Use butter to grease the pan, sides too (extra to the recipe amounts), then scoop in enough flour so you can tilt the pan to flour the sides as well as the bottom.
10 tablespoons of butter is 1/2 cup plus two tablespoons.
Melt the recipe butter before measuring to make it easy.

19, i think.
I’ve learned a lot over the last few weeks – here and solving dingbats and other puzzles elsewhere.
Hint: Not all of them have to be idioms.
Goodness gracious! I got them all. WooHoo!!!
Stel just said there’s no Cleo comic above. I see it fine. so in case you don’t see it,
here it is
I’ll leave what I saw posted, in hopes it will give you a lead.
I couldn’t see it up top. Just ‘free WIFI’.
Isn’t that always the way……just twenty minutes too late. Better luck next time, Claude. I think Cleo is feeling your pain ~ yeah, right!
Yeah, NH….I’m still not seeing it there, either.
Glitch fixed at 23:06 hrs. E.S.T.
Glitch is not fixed yet…at least not on NH’s end. The comic above is NH’s, but I posted it. Something prevented his two attempts from showing up.
Not to worry, we’ll figure it out later today.
If you can see something besides the three “extras,” I can’t. All I’m getting is shown in the attachment below.
This at 22:45 hrs. E.S.T.,
Oops, that should be E.D.T.. 😁

Yes, it’s there.
Thanks so much, Alexi! Much appreciated!
12:35 AM on May 26 and I can see it clear as day.
Thanks to you, as well, LM!!
Cool (running)…
Do you mean in the normal place…. where the comic usually is… or above the comments… where the videos and additional images go?
Cos at the very top, I do see the comic… but I thought that’s cos the glitch is fixed, so I see Nighthawks’ original post.
However… I only see that one, plus the one he posted in the comments…. making TWO.
If yours would have been a third one, I don’t see it.
No, that is not his original post. I posted that later, a little before my comment asking for people to let me know if they saw it up there…..sometime around 11:00 PM-12 AM EST.

OK.. thanks.
All good here, too.
Thanks, Tigressy!

This should be renamed: “The Woman Who Stared at the Sun: SAFELY! !
Quick synopsis.
Sunspot study begun in wartime Japan and continues for 33 years.
The results are fascinating. Well worth the 5 minutes.
Thanks, Happy. 🐇

Well I got in I see. Hope I don’t have anymore trouble. Sigh!

It took me a few tries too. You just have to find that button that says “Do not press” and press it!
They dd have some in the back, but Clara didn’t want Claude to have any of it because she didn’t want him to read all the Apartment 3-G comics.
