At first I thought it was either 1240 or 1246, but it helped to scroll the page up and down just a tad. Hope that wasn’t cheating! I finally decided 1240.

I was thinking “why is this even a puzzle, if we all see 1240?”

Then I realised… it’s a GREAT puzzle if the actual numbers are …

I dunno, like, maybe 8374 or something…

and it’s somehow tricking us all into seeing the same incorrect tetrad.

On my computer I saw 1240

On my tablet, which actually has slightly better resolution… I was about to post that I think I see 3240 as well…

But honestly, it could go either way.

“Solution!”

Nighthawks often posts puzzles like this without knowing the answer.

In case that’s true this time.. I did a little googling and discovered that this one isn’t really a puzzle…

It’s meant to be an EYE TEST.

Your answer isn’t right or wrong…
It supposedly gives information about your visio

I found dozens of postings, some just displaying the image as a puzzle, others with a “results” key.

I’m not too convinced of its accuracy…. but apparently it was very popular on the net, though obviously none of us saw it.

So no one will be influenced by the results when deciding upon a final answer….

I’ve hidden the results HERE.

Btw, “short-sighted” is the usual British term for what in the US is called “near-sighted.” The rest is pasted from a website…

3246: You are short-sighted and may have astigmatism.

3240: You have astigmatism but do not have short-sightedness.

1246: You only have short-sightedness but do not have astigmatism.

1240: Congratulations! You have perfect vision!

When the eye test went viral on the internet, many people felt that their answers truly reflected their eyesight.

A user wrote, “Welp. My optician is apparently aces. With glasses I saw 1240; without, I saw both 3246 & 3240, depending on how I turned my head. I am both short-sighted and have astigmatism.”

However, there were some users who commented that the result was inaccurate.

“I have perfect eyesight and I saw a 1,” one user wrote.

“I see 1246, however, I am farsighted, not shortsighted,” wrote another user.

We used to subject first-year biology students to color-blindness tests…

https://www.aao.org/full/image.axd?id=b72fd796-5de5-4f2d-bd7b-b844f66a8a9a&t=636392803167930000

We also made them fill out genaeology charts — but had to abandon those after they raised too many embarrassing questions (If both your mother and father have blue eyes and you have brown eyes…)…

Today is the first time I have ever seen the “Rocket Man” video.
That is really good artwork.
The details!
The juxtaposition of the drug trip with reality.
The “London Eye” in the background.
Traffic driving on the left side of the street.
The overall blending of scenes.

I watched it twice. I’ll watch it again in the future.

Another good choice, nighthawks.

I went back and watched it after your review. I thought it would just be a video of Elton. Turns out to be a very good animation. Thanks for the tip!

My late wife lost a nephew many years ago, this was his favorite song and was played at his funeral. I always remember him when I hear this song, makes me sad.

Wow, I didn’t get a drug trip from it. I saw a refugee escaping to the West. First by land, then in a flimsy inflatable boat. The end, looks like what call modern but looks like a future-scape to one from a third world land.

A painting by Oleg Shuplyak… who also painted the illusionist work posted yesterday by Nighthawks…

The one showing a white-haired man on a riverbank, with hidden faces.

Very strange.

I see it, but what Montana Lady posted is apparently a puzzle version, because the Indians are somewhat disguised.

Thanks but maybe you don’t realise, because you didn’t hide it, that this one is a spoiler…. could be the original version, I don’t know, but it shows them clearly. No puzzle at all.

If you got it from her link, I don’t know how it happened, because they’re not the same image.

I’m just glad I clicked on hers and tried it before I saw your post.

Very strange. Bev’s artwork is camouflage style. The two Indians are designed to blend in with the birch trees. Only the red fox is in clear sight.

Sorry there is such a discrepancy. :((

Can any of the computer gurus tell me why for a few of the folks that I follow for this site, why do I get two or three notices in my email for their same posts?

SusanSunshine

I don’t consider myself a computer guru…

But I would check this:

Go up to the top of the comments, below the cartoon and whatever was posted with it, where it gives the number of them, ie, right now it says “70 COMMENTS”.

Next to that is a very small icon of a generic head, with a tiny “settings” cogwheel.

Click it. As I noted the other day, that will display all your own comments.

But on top of that list, you’ll find two other tabs, and one is labeled with the same icon you click to follow someone… (though to me the design looks more like a Wi-Fi signal indicator.)

Click to go to that tab, and it shows who you’re following.

If perhaps you clicked on someone twice, there could be duplication in the list.

I don’t really know for sure… But it’s worth a look.
