Well – cell-phones (you know: those hard-wired ones without extra apps) were named “Handy” in Germany – and this “generic” name refers to “smart” phones nowadays, too…
There! I was just able to sync the animation with the Time Warp video! Of course, the animation needs a few hundred more frames to really sync all the way, but still…..
And, the other comment that I have is how impressed I am that the character so closely resembles its real-life counterpart (Riff Raff). This is all so very well done!
Thanks, Nightwawks, for posting one of my VERY FAVORITE ANIMATIONS today (with the YouTube video)!!! It was well worth the wait!
To really get the experience, you should see it at a midnight screening somewhere. That way, you’ll get the audience participation portion as well, which is a hoot.
Warning: Do not sit up front. If the place in which you see it has a balcony, try to sit in it. If you can’t, bring raincoats and wear them.
Though I live in a city of ±180,000.in California, afaik, (though I don’t get out much) we haven’t had a midnight screening in years.
Rocky Horror also has one of, if not the, longest distribution contracts in history… It’s still a first run film, in limited release, so not as available to local theaters as some would wish.
….
But the film is online in lots of places… I saw that it’s on Amazon Prime and Hulu Plus, either for about 4 dollars or as part of a trial subscription… and I’m sure there are free ones, uploaded by fans, though they tend to disappear.
HBO apparently just had a Halloween showing where people used emojis, on Twitter, to “throw” rice, light candles, and spray “rain”, in order to emulate the live midnight shows.
I’ve never seen it either. I started to watch it one time to see what all the hoopla was about ~ turned it off quickly. Not my thing. I like Cleo’s dance moves, though.
It is campy to the nth degree. Very risque, though to the best of my recollection, there is no actual nudity. Tim Curry is sort of in drag throughout, despite his character being unequivocally male. It is absurd, racy, silly, satirical, and a musical to boot. I have never seen anything else like it.
Montana Lady will you PLEASE stop calling yourself an oldster!
There are some younger people in this group, and yes, I think you’re one of the oldest, but not by much.
Those of us at the older end are, AFAIK, not as far apart as all that… and I, for one, am still a spring chicken… albeit a very loooong, chilly, spring.
…
I don’t think you were even 30 yet when this film came out… or maybe just… so you can’t use age as an excuse.
And the rest of you, too…. What??
See it now!
…
Unless innuendo itself really offends you, you’ll find something in it to enjoy. There’s no actual nudity or pornography, just humorous suggestions of activity that you never see, and a bit of violence so cartoon-y that even I could handle it.
I know I’m too easily NOT offended… LOL…
but as I said, it’s one of my favorite movies EVER…
And even the Library of Congress has added it to its list of culturally important films.

All good musical selections tonight! The Ames Brothers bit was a little unusual…

only a few hundred more frames?—well! let’s get started!
I’m ready when you are!
….
(Time Warp at 4 minutes in)
And, additional information about Richard O’Brien, the creator of The Rocky Horror Picture Show:
Richard O’Brien – Wikipedia
Love this animation… I know it’s a rerun, but it’s one that I was hoping to see again.
Richard O’Basset is the perfect person to learn…. I mean dog… the perfect dog to learn the Time Warp from, since he wrote it.
Meanwhile… I’ve been having problems getting here. Dunno if it’s just WordPress or my internet, as well.. Probably both….
But it’s found yet another way to drive me nuts.
The page opens, and I’m logged in… But there’s been no comment box… no place to write. Finally got one now, if it’s not a mirage…
You see, I keep trying to give tonight’s page 5 stars… They show for a moment, and then disappear!
Hope this post doesn’t!
So… If you don’t see this…let me know!
.
I DO see it…..I DO!!!
Susan! Susan! I can read you loud and clear!
I see dead people.
oh, and I also see your comment.
Yay… I think it posted.
So. . Here’s Meatloaf… unknown before Rocky Horror, he was sort of the breakout music star.
Great song, weird video that doesn’t seem related…

it’s national donut day!
…
Basset version looks like a howlin’ good time. Everybody Time Warp!
TGIF Cleophans!
Hug your favorite redhead!
a Dick Tracy redhead
For an ‘oldster’ who’s never seen the Rocky Horror Show, I’m sure enjoying today’s animation. Lots of fun.
And the videos are terrific!
I’ve never seen it either m’lady
If the great and All Powerful Nighthawks has never seen it, I don’t feel too bad!

Liver, she’s in northern Montana. Good luck finding a midnight screening of anything, let alone Rocky Horror.
Good point.

I’m glad you have a ‘super favorite’ movie, Susan.
hahahahahaaaaaaaaa
All of our kids used to go to the ‘fun’ screenings years ago.

I agree. Absolutely unique.
‘unique’ is even gooder!
Silly is good!
We would probably do the same.

Get cultured!
I still don’t act my age!
Well thank goodness!
I can’t even figure out how to do that or what it’s supposed to mean these days.
We’re certainly not like our grandmothers, at our ages, and we’d NEVER dress like the “mature” women we knew when we were young…. or like Clara. LOL
OMG!!!
The driver of that car was smart to back up when it did.
WOW!!
AWESOME! I love the Cleo Time Warp!
