Thanks to Francis Coppola’s 1983 film The Outsiders, we met Tom Cruise, Matt Dillon, Patrick Swayze, Ralph Macchio, Emilio Estevez, C. Thomas Howell and Rob Lowe.

The painting of “The (Great) Tower of Babel” by Pieter Bruegel the Elder is a picture link to the most complete version of the film “Metropolis” as you will find (this is explained in the opening 90 seconds of the video / total length 2 hrs. 28 mins. 27 secs.) .
The painting is the inspiration for the headquarters of Joh Fredersen (Alfred Abel), the chief “villain” of the film, Freder Frederson (Gustav Fröhlich), his son, is the protagonist.
Metropolis itself was based on the 1925 novel of the same name by Thea von Harbou.

Welcome to my desert island where I will not desert you; but if you misbehave, I’ll dole out your just desert. If you behave properly, on the other hand, I’ll give you your choice of dessert at dinner every night.
You can own a print of Alejandro Burdisio’s “Estacion Salomone” for a base price of SGD 64.67 plus any taxes levied in Singapore, plus shipping, plus the necessary total amount of your local currency demanded by the people in charge of your various government departments to allow it to cross your country’s border by ordering from…HERE…or you can click on his “Trenes” (below) and see more samples of his artistry.
A Google (computer nerds can’t spell, it was supposed to be named “Googol” — 10E100) search for Alejandro Burdisio will bring up even more.
By this…Wikipedia Article…the Chrysler building was the tallest building in the world for 11 months before the Empire State Building surpassed it.
It was also subject to many disputes.
This …MAP… shows its relation to the Empire State Building. From the Empire State Building go north-east on 5th Avenue to E 42nd Street turn right to Lexington Avenue.
And I just learned that Grand Central Terminal is in the middle of Park Avenue.
Wow… one of the very first… arguably the first… full length science fiction films, just when the genre was starting to be recognised as such.
And designed in extremely chic Art Doggo style.., which had just become known by that label the year before, after the 1925 “L’Exposition Internationale des Arts Doggoratifs et Industriels Modernes” in Paris.
Both Sci-Fi and Art Doggo had, in practice, been around for at least a decade… but their labels and popularity were new and fashionable, and both were reflecting more and more of a modern, sleek, mechanical, world.
…
Mary Shelley’s Frankenbasset was written in the early 19th century and the novels of H. Dog Wells in the early 20th… but major films were few, usually short, and not yet called science fiction
Then along came “Clevelandopolis“, and the world sat up and took notice.
….
BTW… I didn’t think I was going to be able to comment tonight…
I couldn’t get most of the images to open, so I didn’t have much to say.
But I guess I must have dozed off…. er... rested my eyes for a moment… or so…. .. and when I opened them, preparing to shut down and go to bed… wow… the page was highly visual….

I didn’t see this movie and don’t even remember hearing about it I do love the music by Go-Fetch Slippers. And Teddy Yaparoo ~ always a favorite! Nice job, Stel ~ even if I never saw it.
Just between you and me, PC, I never saw this movie either. I may very well click on Alexi’s link to the film, since after compiling today’s page, I am rather intrigued by it.
Thanks for your comment! I’m glad you enjoyed the poster!

Nice takeoff on Metropolis!
Lady Gaga reportedly took her name from this song… just on the off chance anybody was wondering.
Wow!

What I can pick up of the words, it sounds like it might be amusing.
A LITTLE LONGER VERSION THAT HELPS WITH THE “MUD”
Unfortunately, the ad still remains.
I would bet that it wouldn’t want to pick up piranhas or other fish with a good set of choppers.
The upper one looks German…
?
I’m glad you asked:
Mixed-up as usual.
Thanks for clarifying. That is cool and quite a coincidence.
Was there a reason you didn’t explain that initially?
Fritzy sure knew how to have fun.
