Rolled paper art. This is the prettiest example I’ve seen.

A one minute video of this thing in use.
I suggest shutting off your sound, the electro pop is very intrusive

I didn’t mind the sound. It just seems like a heck of a lot of engineering for not that many cars.

I think the second one might be an over-run. A place where a vehicle that lost braking or speed control can roll-out.

The town is Manarola, Italy. The attachment shows its location.
I cannot find the proper credit, because there are so many photographs on the ‘net taken from the same vantage point, I have neither the desire nor time to match details like boats in the harbour and which lights are on or off.

I got 8. There are at least two more I would have had if they were larger and drawn better.

I recognize the props, but not all of the names of the movies.
I would never have watched #3.

Today’s Songs:
1. ‘Walk Away Renée,’ 2. ‘Walk, Don’t Run,’ 3. ‘Walk Like an Egyptian,’ and 4. ‘ Walk of Life,’ and the ‘Cheap Thrills Cuisine’ recipe 5. ‘Cajun Skewers.’
1. Renée was the unrequited love interest of ‘Left Banke’ ‘s Michael Brown. She was actually the then girlfriend of their bassist Tom Flinn. Renée went on to become a vocal coach.
2. This is the ‘Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass’ version. I’m sure I must have heard ‘The Ventures’ first, but when I heard this ‘The Ventures’ ‘ version fell to a distant second.
3. Other than the obvious four and ‘The Bangles’ themselves, all others are real people or hired performers walking like Egyptians. The eye movements by Susanna Hoffs beginning at the 45 second mark is a technique she was using to overcome stage fright by looking directly at audience members.
4. I have a fondness for this song. I was coming out of Chetwynd on my way to Dawson Creek. I was listening to 1410 CFUN out of Vancouver coming in loud and clear ‘Walk of Life’ was playing when I rounded a corner and saw the Northern Lights dancing for the first time (and sadly the last time as yet). I stopped and watched for a good ten minutes, and then duty called and I had to get on to Dawson Creek. I had seen the Northern Lights many times in the N.W.T., but they were never dancing.
5. Every spice mild, even bacon can be ruined if you can’t taste it because of the capsaicin.

Walk like an Egyptian dance moves are inspired by Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. I can assure you modern Egyptians do not walk that way. I had to go through a lot of Ancient Egyptian art before I found one that assumed the position.

Never mind, I can’t figure out how to insert a shutterstock image.

I seem to hear Walk of Life a lot, but I can’t recall what show it is associated with.

The easiest way is to right click on the image you want to post here, and select “Copy image address” from the menu as I’ve illustrated in the attachment.
Then just post in your usual manner using that copied U.R.L., as I’ve done here using your avatar.

This method works the vast majority of the time, but even if it shows up as a U.R.L. only, a reader clicking on it will bring up its contents.
