Dick Van Dyke will be 98 years old on December 13th, and is still working!

He has several acting credits from 2023.

Later in December he’s being honored with a television special.

That’s great… He seems like a nice guy.

(Ok… I’ll say it… I just hope they leave out honoring his atrocious accent in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.)

I noticed, for the first time, that Dick Van Dyke stands in dancer’s first position. That is his characteristic posture when standing still.

Kinda crazy that we’re given no rules.

I thought…

… that we were supposed to find it going across, left to right, but I couldn’t see it.

I looked at every “D” but there was no following “OG”.

I couldn’t find one vertically either.

However, if we’re allowed to go diagonal, I found the one I marked in red.

If we’re not allowed diagonals, the only one I found is marked in green.

The green or the red?

I didn’t try to find a solution online.

Both of them. Some of the online versions don’t have the “EYE TEST” “Find the work DOG” lines.

Believe it or not, I wanted to make that joke.

I didn’t, because I couldn’t find it to circle.

But you’re right… It doesn’t have to be there for it to be funny.

Also, while I looked across, down, and diagonally… backwards never occurred to me, or I would have realized I’d already circled it in red, going the other direction.

Speaking of puzzles… well, I was, up there some place..

I suppose you want the solution to tonight’s puzzle.

And I suppose I’ll post it for you!

As long as you promise you won’t peek before you’ve done your best.

You wouldn’t want to be bad right in front of Robin Hound, anyway, would you?

Besides, he has a bow and arrow.

So when you’ve found all the differences you can find (hopefully nine)…

Check right here!

Hot water bottle for the UTI. Warm blankets.
Lots of water and no dry dog food.
Soft omelette mixed with broth (not completely without salt) and a little oatmeal.

And no booze!!!

Oh – and an old (but valid) recipe for the intestinal system (for humans, but for dogs and cats too):

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morosche_Karottensuppe

“For the Morosche carrot soup, 500 g of peeled carrots are boiled in one liter of water for at least 90 minutes. The carrots are then pureed. The soup is then made up to one liter again with boiling water and 3 g of salt.[1][3] In variants of the recipe, a few pieces of meat or meat broth are also added during preparation.”

“When carrots are cooked for a long time, tiny sugar molecules are created that are similar to the receptors in the intestinal epithelium, so that the pathogenic intestinal germs dock on the sugar molecules instead of on the intestinal wall and are simply excreted. In this way, the intestinal flora can heal again.[1][2][6]”

Something’s wrong. I found all nine again. This must be like the third or fourth week in a row. I am not suddenly good at this. So, what is the explanation? Is Nighthawks throwing us softballs now? Is it out of distraction or pity?

Today’s Songs:
1. ‘Walking On The Moon,’ 2. ‘Walking To New Orleans,’ 3. ‘Wanted, Dead Or Alive,’ and 4. ‘Waterloo,’ and the ‘Cheap Thrills Cuisine’ recipe 5. ‘Cannellini Bean Salad (low carb).’
1. Don’t be eating anything when you see the movie clip of Sting as Feyd-Rautha in the 1984 movie, ‘Dune’ below (I don’t think it ever registered with me that Patrick Stewart was in that movie too).
2. I’ve always liked his laid-back tone when singing this song.
3. By Jon Bon Jovi (Jovi is another form of Jove and Jupiter) this is an homage to the heroes of the old west. It was influenced by Bob Seger’s ‘Turn the Page’ (recording below).
4. The song that won them the ‘Eurovision’ contest in 1974 (the video is their actual performance there).
5. I’ve provided a link to the ‘Ontario Bean Growers’ site. Cannellini beans are more commonly known as white kidney beans. Radicchio is a form of chicory.

Raw leek cut that thick? No. – Substitute that with green onions, even large ones.

I was thinking, too, about those tough and indigestible raw leeks.

Plus a whole cup of raw mushrooms, which I, personally, can’t eat.

I can eat raw bell peppers, but some people can’t.

And there’s around a cup and a half of beans per person, if only six eat it!

Even rinsed, they’re full of salt and don’t need more …
Two teaspoons is almost 5,000 mg of extra sodium!

The dressing amounts aren’t enough to taste, mixed with all those other ingredients, except too much salt and pepper.

ONE tablespoon of pesto and 3 basil leaves?

The whole thing, without some modification, is an invitation to indigestion.

The leaves are just for decoration.
I would cook the beans myself from scratch.
And I agree with you on the mushrooms and peppers.
Plus everything else.
Those recipes are – just – none.

For all (none) of you following my Internet and phone saga.

A tech was supposed to be coming tomorrow… Oops, I mean today, for those of you reading this on Saturday… to fix everything.

….

But Thursday night, after I wrote about it, in the wee hours of Friday morning, my non working phone rang… And suddenly it was fixed.

All day Friday and most of the evening i had landline
and Internet.

A tech called and confirmed that they had switched something in the main office and it solved the problem.

He asked my permission to cancel the Saturday appointment. Sure, I said.

Tonight it’s all gone again.

I’m using the cell phone again to comment.

I was able to use the tablet, earlier, to post the puzzle solution.

Then my connection stopped and started for a couple of hours… but it’s dead again… And now I have no appointment to fix it.

More fun.
