I know only too well that this movie is not well known and that most of you have not only never heard of it, but not seen it as well. BUT, for the past few years, I cannot resist posting it in the beginning of November. I actually have seen the movie, and although not an Oscar/Golden Biscuit contender, it really isn’t that bad a movie. After all, how bad could it be with Pierce Brosnan/Pierce Broshound? So, all I’m saying is that I know, I know, I know that you’re not familiar with the film, but it IS a great movie poster for November 2nd, and anyway, the bottom line is the head of the studio (Cleo Clifford) made me post it today.
I’ve just put Bill Granger’s novel on hold at the library.
But for those who want to watch the movie, click on Olga Kurylenko as Alice Fournier and do the usual clutter clearing (1 hr. 48 mins. 21 secs.)
NEW TOPIC:
I skipped through episode 1 season 1 of “Squid Games” a short while ago (bored at 30 seconds / went to the trailer — “Is it really that bad?” — went back and started skipping / “Yes, it is.”).”
The whole series has got to be “violence pornograghy” for lack of a better term.
This piece of garbage is an argument that could be used with some weight, this time anyway,
(although, I hope, unsuccessfully / as distasteful as this piece of garbage is, I’m at least bright enough to know I don’t have to watch it)
by the people bringing back censorship (as I’ve pointed out elsewhere, those idiots have already gotten to the “Oz” books, and Huckleberry Finn — they’ve also hit, as we know, — Bugs Bunny, Wile E. Coyote, “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” etc. etc. etc. … ).
In short, I don’t think you should subject the pixels on your television or computer screen to the unnecessary wear and tear.
I definitely prefer the Santana. I’ve always liked and respected Carlos Santana for his style and musicianship. He does not bombard you with a million notes to say nothing. He tries to say something using an economy of notes. Big difference. Santana is very fluid and graceful, mostly single line solos. B B King was another single-line style of guitarist, but his true greatness was as a blues singer. For me, Abraxas is one of the great “rock” albums.
@StillTheBelle – I don’t which I like better: your cleofication of the November Man poster or your choice in music.
P.S. I’d watch the test pattern if you put Olga Kurylenko‘s picture on it instead of Chief WhatsHisName.
I’ve started this YouTube post at the beginning of the above gif (I suggest you lower your sound volume) but you get the whole work without that annoying, to me anyway, “gif-stop.”
The full short is 18 minutes and 54 seconds, and gives a really good insight into Picasso’s art.
It should post fine if it’s a JPEG, GIF or a PNG. Treat it like any image and click on the image button in the bottom right hand corner, then navigate to the pic you want to post. If it’s not one of the files above, recapture it as one of them so you can post it. Here’s an example from mine.
Did your picture come directly from your Pictures file (if you’re running a PC)?
If so, please point me at “the image button in the bottom right hand corner” or where to find it so I can put it there.
I can add pictures only as attachments right now, but I’d like to put them in my comments directly.
I know Susan and StelBel run theirs through “postimage” but you, and now Dennis, seem to have done it directly.
P.S.
What is the pink thing that’s obviously the prize wanted for the effort?
I haven’t the least clue.
When I started using this site, file upload from my computer failed every time…
That’s why I always use a hosting site like PostImage.
I guess I’ll try again.
…
If it works, it wouldn’t be the only thing on this site that has started working at some point when it wouldn’t before…
like the early struggles with registration, and uploading avatars…
…
It’s a crazy place… the only site I know where “Refresh” sometimes refreshes the page halfway, so you have to do it again to see the true number of comments,
And where posting a giant font puts a gratuitous “end quote” mark in front (which must signify something.)
…..
The only problem is that Google drive is busy downloading to my new computer, so I can’t find everything just yet…
But since some people have been posting dogs in his outfit…
Here’s our very own Captain BatPug of the Ballard County Sheriff’s Depatment… I believe his photo was originally posted by StelBel.
If you’re feeling devilish today, be sure to be careful and not get egg on your face.

DEVILED EGGS IN ASPIC Makes 8 servings
2 envelopes plain gelatine
1 /2 cups water
1 chicken bouillon cube
1/2 tsp mixed pickling spice
1 can consommé
8 whole deviled eggs or hard cooked eggs
Oil 8 small custard cups. Mix the first four ingredients together in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Simmer for 1 minute, then strain into a bowl. Add consommé and pour the mixture into the bottom of each custard cup. Chill until soft set, but not firm. Chill remaining jelly mixture until syrupy. Arrange an egg in each cup, band-side down and cover with mixture. Chill until set. Unmold and garnish tops with strips or cutout stars of pimento, plus a few sprigs of parsley. May be served as individual salads on shredded greens or to highlight a handsome cold-meat platter.
WHOLE DEVILED EGGS:
Hard-cook 8 eggs, shell and chill. Cut in half, then mash yolks separately and moisten with mayonnaise or sour cream. Season to taste and fill the whites. Press 2 halves together leaving an even band of egg yolk showing on one side.
Note from me:
Pickling spice mixtures are available commercially.
I had an accident going into work this morning.
I ran into a kitchen chair in a box. Fully assembled.
After the box exploded and enough got stuck under the bumper on the passenger side that it did damage to the bumper skin and destroyed the right front tire.
Insurance or not, it’s going to take a bite out of the finances.

How did it get to be November already?? Nope, never saw it.
I’m one who never saw it, Stel, but I agree, it’s quite fitting for November.
I do like the Basset version the best.

Maybe for sentimental reasons, I prefer Santana over Peter Green on this song.
No doubt, the guitar work is better! 😀

I see a couple of bridesmaids overdid the dieting to fit in the dresses.
Wait. That’s NOT what this is?
Funny… I got here too late but i was going to say almost the same thing…
It’s OK to want to look good for your wedding day….
But extreme dieting is dangerous
You can’t get away with anything with Pierce Broshound on the scene.
Steven Tyler sure knows how to attract women!
I would like to post a pic of our Beautiful Katrina but I have not figured out how to post a file from my personal computer to the website.

Good question about the pink thing. He just liked to climb at that age. Maybe he’ll be a stunt double when he grows up.

Are YOU okay???
I’m fine. Poor car isn’t. 🙁
Are you OK?
Yes. The car is at our local body shop.
Fascinating. But I still hate the way they edit out all the pauses.
You can see what the inside of a tire and wheel looks like.
This is where the chair leg was sticking out.
A wider overall view.
