Hey everybody, hold off on sending anything to Stelbel. I’ve been informed that she has been discharged from the hospital and evidently has been accepted in a rehab facility of some sort……they will not give any information as to what facility.
If that’s not a gleaming city on a hill, I don’t know what is.
But I do not think I would want to get there standing on top of a train, in the snow, while crossing a frozen river.

Seriously – Remember my dream a few days ago (Thanksgiving)?
I also dreamed that my husband witnessed a crane being removed from the construction site a few yards across from our balcony.
That happened a few days afterwards.
So of course, I had mailed her a (carefully chosen) card last Wednesday. Dropped it at a post office, if that helps hasten delivery at all. Maybe she got it.
Today’s Songs (beginning list two):
1. ’25 or 6 to 4,’ 2. ’96 Tears,’ 3. ’99Luft Ballons,’ and 4. ‘A Whiter Shade of Pale,’ and the ‘Cheap Thrills Cuisine’ recipe 5. ‘Chicken Chorizo Stuffed Peppers.’
1. The composer, Robert Lamm, has said the song’s title is the time in the morning, 25 or 26 minutes to 04:00 hrs., when he was writing it.
2. Question Mark, himself (Rudy Martinez / any relation?), wrote the song in 1962 and it was recorded in Bay City, Michigan (by Wikipedia the owner of the label actually backed the band financially / there’s a link, not to Wikipedia, below it’s interesting history).
3. Actually inspired by a ‘Rolling Stones’ concert in West Berlin when ‘Nena’s’ guitarist, Carlo Karges, wondered what would happen if balloons being released at the concert drifted into East Berlin. The song is actually pretty dark; the released balloons led to 99 years of war in its German version.
4. Quote from the Wikipedia article Keith Reid got the title and starting point for the song at a party. He overheard someone at the party saying to a woman, ‘You’ve turned a whiter shade of pale’, and the phrase stuck in his mind.
This was recorded in London, the next song you hear of theirs will be ‘Conquistador’ recorded at their concert with the ‘Edmonton Symphony’.
5. Into the oven on the second rack (top rack is first). By my taste, find the mildest chorizo sausage (originally from Spain and modified around the world) you can, or use regular sweet spiced breakfast sausage.
.
Close the door and hit “Fluff”.
(Not really.)
It must have just been run. Warm and has cushioning inside.
Almost as good as laying on a warm bed with a human in it.
Dogs might even be able to detect a trace of human scent in washed items like bedding, or clothes that had been heavily worn, like workout clothes.
Hey, look … you knew when you married me that I was a nonworking breed.
NOSE!

The Polar Express?
That’s what I was wondering, never having seen it.
you should see it. tom hanks does a good job.
It’s fun.
Worth the time. 🙂
Watch out for that bridge!
This somehow looks terrifying to me.
Maybe it’s a dream, he looks like he’s in his pajamas!
..
DZIOBY!
LBB’s
Little Brown Bird. Could be any one of a number of species.
Probably female.
They look like female sparrows to me.
Or young ones.
Fluff those feathers out! It’s cold out there!
Alexander Skachkov
The top-hat would imply a male, so the bottle must be nectar.
Maybe he’s trying to attract a female with his “stash”.
The stuff in the bottle is barely leveled out… Still a bit bumpy.
So it doesn’t look liquid to me….
more like a powder, or something crystalline, like red dye, or red sugar for Christmas cookies.
Maybe he’s the guy that carries the red coloring around to the flowers, or to the baby green apples and tomatoes.
I’ve never seen him so I don’t know what he looks like.
Maybe like this.
Even if I match up all the faces, I’d still have no idea who they were, not having seen the movie.
Well… except for Gene Hackett.
Hackman
Thank you.
I didn’t notice the autocorrect kicking in. It’s very insistent.
I’m temporarily doing everything on my android phone, even finding pictures.
I turn off autocorrect and it still won’t go away or believe me about what I choose to say!
Heck, i miss that stuff with my laptop.
No way i could with my thumbs alone.
I’m not doing anything with my thumbs!
That’s was the archaic system for texting on cell phones with buttons, not screens.
Just like a landline phone, several letters were on each button, so you had to double and triple tap to get the right one.
Actually I think some people still use those phones but not many.
….
This is a smartphone with a virtual keyboard. It’s like an Android tablet or iPad, but in miniature.
I mostly slide one index finger quickly over the keys, from letter to letter of the word I want and it figures out what I’m trying to type.
If it can’t or keeps doing it wrong, I can tap the letters with a fingertip.
….
But autocorrect keeps deciding what I really meant to say (in its opinion) and “correcting” me.
Occasionally it makes a useful correction, like guessing a garbled word, or correcting a typo or misspelling.
But more often it’s just trying to drive me nuts.
Darn, I was thinking “the Beaver”. ☺
I was thinking Mr. Bean.
Didn’t have an inkling.
me, too!
I was very bad wrong.
Hard to imagine a kid that cute ending up that ugly (not that I’m any prettier ☺).
To be fair, he did get shot, stabbed, blown up, and beaten quite a bit.
The nose just looks wrong.
Sorry, but there’s no way that kid grew up into that well-known adult!
Hold up everybody!
You may not be good at recognizing celebritied as kids, but you don’t recognize this one because it’s the wrong kid.
….
I just had to find out what was going on.
Several websites make the same identification mistake, even running the same combo Nighthawks did.
But I did find some information that seems reliable about the boy pictured.
He has the same name as the celebrity, but was born years later and is apparently now a famous prisoner.
…
I recognized the adult celebrity, though, so I searched for an actual young picture of him.
Apparently they’re scarce. He was born in 1921, one of 15 children of a poor family in a mining town.
One site says this is him:
Another this
…
I can’t swear to either, or even that they’re the same kid… they don’t look alike, but either looks more like the adult than that other picture.
Oh!
You want to know who he is?
In case you didn’t recognize him as an adult.
BTW for years I thought he was Mexican-American, till I found out he’s actually of Lithuanian descent.
he has such a nice voice.
oops!
Not your fault.
The incorrect information is out there on websites, as though it were true.
Dog help us, I remember Billy. Thankfully I did not remember that this model ever existed.
I haven’t watched yet… No time now.
But I can’t picture wanting to immerse myself anywhere near that creature.
Maybe the video shows that they’re not, but those look like stinging tentacles.
That’s a sea star (starfish).
Those sticky-outie bits are its tube legs.
Oh, ok.
I didn’t know what to call them… They’re like tentacles on the tentacles.
Sticky-outie bits must be the scientific term I was reaching for. 😁
😀
Star-studded entertainment.
Thank you Happy³, I love the under-sea videos.
I love that stuff!
lemon pie
looks great!!
I posted my mother’s lemon pie recipe HERE last year (it’s still my favourite).
You can hardly go wrong overestimating Cleo’s kindness to elderly cats.
Well, not if you know her, and correctly assume that she feels none at all.
So, I am awaiting word from her family
That sounds like good news ♥ Thanks.
I hope she brought her socks. 😉

Keeping my fingers crossed. Great news!!!

THANK YOU for candi’s good news!
hahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa… indeed?

3 – Weather balloon, anyone?
By the way – really good artwork.
Consistent from panel to panel without just copying.
Kudos.
Just saying.
Whoa! You caught me just in time. I had just put something out for the mailman this morning! Thanks for posting that. I hope it’s very good news.
