The standard order is Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiply, Divide, Add, Subtract.
Although add and subtract can be in any order as long as these functions are last, and multiply and divide can be in any order as long as they are done before the addition and subtraction.
If Claude hasn’t learned by now that his precious pooch will not rescue him from his follies, there’s no hope for him, unless he also learns to resist danger.
I’m thinking he’ll learn both of those things on the same day… the 12th of Never.
We are down to one 18 year old Siamese kitty. I am desperate to get a new dog, but my wife has reservations because of the cat. True, I don’t think Motley would have much patience with a puppy.
The news people were all laughing about the camel beauty show in Qatar. Hey, we have beauty pageants for dogs, and even cars! Just because you can’t appreciate a beautiful camel, don’t knock it!
OMG! I was just listening to Fleetwood Mac on YouTube the other night and mentioned to Nighthawks how I loved “Everywhere” (so popular in a car commercial nowadays) and he agreed.
I’m so sorry to hear of her passing. Thanks for posting “Over My Head”, Dennis. We have lost a true star….
Just to spice things up, the fire alarm went off in the middle of the busy morning office. Had to evacuate all the patients and wait outside in the rain (glad my car was parked nearby) for about 15 minutes. There was a problem with the service elevator in the building. That made the morning patients run into the noon/lunch time webinar training I had to do today. It felt like I got no breaks at all today.
.
I’ve got nothing (and I do mean nothing / this seems to have jumped into existence around 2012 with no credits).
Italian or Sicilian hippo?
I like the hand gesture. “So good.”
..
I’ve heard there’s a bunny in there
i found it! i found it!
There is!
Found it.
The bunny is fairly easy… though not as easy as that ridiculously long-necked tall cat.
There also seems to be a devil cat, who is not too good at hiding.
But my question is… how many mice do you see?
Nine…
but I’m tired and could have missed one.
…
I didn’t bother marking the tall kitty… I’m sure you see him.
As the official title of the puzzle from its home website is….
Can You find a BUNNY among the cats?
…I didn’t go looking for the other anomalies (I’m calling them that).
The attachment is another puzzle by the same author at the same site.
Happy scrabbling.
I know they’re not the “official” targets, but the mice and the silly cats are in there.
I’m sure the artist put them in to be amusing, so he wants us to see them.
…
There no reason for me NOT to propose a second game of finding them.
When you were a little kid, riding in the car with your sibling(s), didn’t you ever make a game out of counting cows or telephone poles…
even though there was no sign by the road that said “Count the Cows”?
And yeah, easy math puzzle,
unless someone doesn’t understand x and + signs….
Or doesn’t use assumed parentheses and do the multiplication first…. the way I was always taught.
These days some math is taught with a different system… linear instead of grouping.
Line one is obvious.
Line two, instead of “coffee plus (tea x tea x tea)” would be solved as
“[(Coffee plus tea) times tea] times tea”
and would be incompatible with line one no matter what value of tea you try.
…
There was a big internet debate about a viral word problem a few years ago, and mathematicians on both sides were arguing their methods.
I had no idea the rules had changed for anybody.
But it took a few million years to get there.

I was happy you found the mice and the devil cat! They’re like “Easter Eggs”!
Nah…don’t wanna solve it….don’t like all those eyes staring at me!
that was fun
The green cat has me worried.
Is she sick, or is it a Martian cat?
Now i see his tail! 😀
Yeah that’s why I called him a devil cat… plus his devilish eyebrows.
,
An international cover.
I’ve found it listed for 0,90 NF (new francs)
That’s not Rusty!
“Who cares about the grown-ups?”, once would have said my then-smaller self.
that is Lieutenant Rip Masters, according to my 3/4-century-old memory—
The actor, who I’ve seen in numerous movies and tv shows escapes said memory
Yeah but I’d still only have wanted to read about Rusty and Rinty.
It’s mousse day today.
Just love precise recipes….
115g mayo, which is 4.11oz… and 235 ml water…. right…
But “2 tins” of salmon.
I have bought salmon in 61/2, 7, 12 and 16 oz cans, and probably other sizes too.
Also would have to hope that a “sachet” of gelatin is the same size as a US packet…. and measure the contents of one to figure out half.
Good thing I usually just eyeball it anyway.
Cleo has shown over and over….
and over and over…
(would another “over and over” be redundant?) …
that she is no kind of Lassie.

Japanese Macaques, also known as snow monkeys…
Mother and baby….
chocolate mousse
Chocolate mouse
Lenny, the chocolate moose.
It kind of resembles a shoe.
Mickey Mouse’s.
CHOCOLATE!
You let me down again, Claude.
Pickled Pete put this up at “The Comic Strip….” yesterday.
I LOVE that prancin’ pooch!! Wish I could adopt him! What a cute little guy!
(I still miss Max more than anything, but I think I’ll be ready to adopt again in the new year. I miss the pitter-patter of tiny feet in the house….)
Pitter patter? Mytwo sound like a thundering herd!

thank you, Plods! how are you doing?
Good to see you, Plods!
Hi! 🙂
HOWDY!
Ya did it!
Yay!
Hey, Plods……good to see ya!!!

RIP Christine McVie.

Another great memory. Thanks Stel.
Damn!
