Well, for one thing, I’m sure a lot of people DON’T know that the original, painting is a Picasso, because they only recognise his cubist work, and not his Blue Period.
For another, even though this is a pretty well educated group, who mostly MIGHT recognise it…
I prefer to credit an artist, as a courtesy, even if EVERYBODY knows.
…
In any case… I’d like to think you don’t realise it, but to English speakers, the expression “So what?”, in reply to a polite thought, is considered pretty rude.
And you thought your Sunday morning would be dull.

Again, I’ve done some editing for clarity.
If you have logged in I have discovered that the “Spoiler Box” coding can be inserted directly into a “Join the discussion” box. after you’ve clicked the { } symbol.
You can have “Paragraph(s) above” “Spoiler Box” and “Paragraph(s) below as usual.
Sorry…I’m not quite sure what you’re talking about… or what you mean by a “join the discussion” box, unless it’s the comment box at the top of the page … ie, the only one that’s not a reply.
But AFAIK {} is for displaying or writing in source code…
It’s easy to put as many spoiler tags as you want into any comment box, without using or knowing code or making it complicated..
just by highlighting the text and clicking [+}… and typing in the tag that opens.
I’m all for simple.
Like this
This is spoiler one
Or this.
This is spoiler two.
Et cetera.
Sorry if you mean something else… in which case I’m not following.
I named it the “Join the discussion” box because that’s what’s in it after you log in.
Now that I know I can do it, I’ll just fill in the spoiler box coding where I want it in my comment and post everything all at once.
I use Word to type my comments, then copy and paste them.
Now we can add “Stonemason” to Cleo’s impressive list of jobs and accomplishments.
Unless she didn’t just go make the sign herself, but had it hidden away in case the need ever arose.
….
Maybe she ordered it from StonesЯUs.
It never hurts to have your dinnertime written in stone.
Sometimes I wish I had someone who would feed me by a certain time… though I generally enjoy cooking, and don’t actually mind feeding myself.
In fact if the cooking helper wouldn’t mind doing a bit of cleaning instead, I’d be happy to feed us both.
But I digress.
…
When I first looked at that picture of the numbat, for a moment I thought it had little grey antlers.
Ooops… silly me.
Anyway, I Googled “Numbat”…. which Wikipedia informs me with a straight face is also known as a “noombat’…
It’s a small Australian marsupial…
like just about every other animal you’ve never seen before.
….
This one is very fashionable looking… amazing how mother Nature knows just where the reddish brown stripes stop and the charcoal ones start… a precise number of them, kinda like a Hudson’s Bay blanket.
Also, this one isn’t nocturnal, so it can occasionally be seen in daylight… though not often, cos it’s unfortunately endangered.
…
Good luck, little numbat!
I’ll be rooting for you!
Only better not use that word in Australia… it means something totally different there.
Instead… here’s to your making a comeback!

Cleo has heard that “etched in stone” line more than once, and she is having none of it!
Oh, if anybody’s interested (from the “Elections Alberta” website):
“The referendum question on Daylight Saving Time asked electors: Do you want Alberta to adopt year-round Daylight Saving Time, which is summer hours, eliminating the need to change our clocks twice a year? Electors could vote “yes” or “no” on the question. The Chief Electoral Officer has announced the following results for the referendum:
“Yes” – 531,782 votes, representing 49.8% of valid ballots cast “No” – 536,874 votes, representing 50.2% of valid ballots cast Elections Alberta is an independent non-partisan office of the Legislative Assembly responsible for administering provincial elections, by-elections and referenda.”
The common opinion is a very measurable portion of the “yes” voters were simply voting to stop the time change, and had we been offered standard time all year round that’s what we’d now have.
Interesting, but why would you not want your sweet baby inside the car? And that doesn’t look safe or comfortable. I guess that one went out with running boards….thankfully.
Good morning Cleophanatics and nighthawks!
.
I hope everyone got up at 2AM to set their clocks back one hour and their scales back 10 pounds.

and on a more serious note

Y’all have a great start to the week! (((((HuGz!)))))
Cleo is on top of it! Don’t let them get away with anything, Cleo.

Spot on.
Nice puppy! 🙂

So that is a hurdy gurdy! Such a versatile instrument. It must take some time to learn.
Wow. What a sound! I hear a little sound of the accordion, too.
The things I learn reading the comics. Fun.
Nice job of animating it.
Funny that whoever did the animation didn’t credit Picasso…
But in a way, the cut off arm animation sort of foreshadows Cubism.
So what? We do know who the artist is.
Well, for one thing, I’m sure a lot of people DON’T know that the original, painting is a Picasso, because they only recognise his cubist work, and not his Blue Period.

It kind of took me by surprise.
Me too.
Not without food.
And way to ruin a good tablet. – Is it dishwasher safe at least?
And you thought your Sunday morning would be dull.

Ah… I see.
Thanks for replying.
Just a thought, but it might not be a bad idea to start with something like “when composing a comment in a word processor”.
….
I don’t think I’d be too far off in surmising that most commenters here either compose directly in the comment box,
or would simply add formatting and tags after pasting into it, using the toolbar, rather than coding them, themselves, and having to insert {} tags.
…
It’s might not be the “best” way, but it’s the easiest…. And I keep going back to it.
Cleo, you are in luck! Tonight you will eat one hour earlier, tummy-time.
Those poor kids doing the stroll, they look so embarrassed.
I don’t care if it does have some interesting parts, a 26 min. video at bedtime is not getting airtime on my channel.
But Janis Ian, OMG, such a talented lass. This song speaks for everyone who was not adept at high school social politics.
Agreed on all counts.
Those kids doing the stroll did not look at all like they were having fun. I think I saw one almost smile, though.
They all looked so nervous! Camera shy? Or was this the all-girls school meeting the all-boys school for the first time?

No!

Dang! Noboby told me about the scales. Is it too late to do it now???
Canine Lymphoma is another good reason for pet insurance. We were able to give our golden another 5 years or so after it was cured.
Some people dread Daylight Savings Time more than others.
I just had a LOL moment……without coffee!
LOL!
Best one of the day!!!!!
Thanks for that laugh!!

My husband is kind of like this. We are retired, but he so lives by the clock. Drives me nuts sometimes……well, all the time.
The only time we watch the clock is waiting for the sunrise.
About the only time I watch the clock is when the International Space Station is passing overhead
I occasionally watch the clock before sunrise, too… but hoping I fall asleep before it gets light.
Sigh…
Luckily not every night.
Same here.
I’m still working. I hope my internal clock dies the day i retire. 🙂
