It’s a dog’s paw for sure; some sites say it’s a dachshund’s paw.

Everybody gets all excited on “Breaking Cat News”, and maybe on some other cat toons, when they see kitty “toe beans.”

This is just doggie toe beans!

My, what a cheerful place you’re in today. Why not sit down at your computer and tell us about it?

Fair metaphor, though …

“Likes” are comparable to a drug.

Works for me.

Addiction to anything isn’t a great idea, but at least 👍 👍 👍 ‘s and chocolate are safer and cheaper than actual drugs.

I wish the comments could be placed a little differently. I thought at first you were writing about The New Yorker ~ could be one you don’t want to touch also.

I liked your reply, but the thumbs up still says zero. It says I already voted for this. Wake up, Little Computer Guy!

It happens to me too.

Sometimes inexplicably, but sometimes I just need to refresh the page.

Why? It’s WordPress.

And check that you’re still logged in… I’ve been unknowingly logged out.

You can’t check your own likes that way, and sometimes others don’t show.

After further deep research (I had to click my mouse five,…. FIVE….. times I tell you) I discovered this is Istanbul, Turkey.
The company, “Miles Tow Trucks” (at least on its English website / one of its models, the EuroLift is doing the job in the video) is based there.

Here is a      LINK      to the “COMPANY” section of its website giving a brief history.
Any other section is easily reached by using the top menu titles.

Jeez, Claude, where did you apply it?

I assume you are aware that Duane Eddy and his group are wearing Confederate caps?

The other two videos are not very good either.

Well, they’re called Duane Eddy and the Rebels, and it was 1958.

Back in the fifties, sixties, and even later, wearing that symbol was mostly takeen as a sign of rebellion or non-conformity… bikers wore it, “outlaw” country singers, even some hippies.

I wouldn’t wear it back then, because I didn’t like any glorification of the Confederacy, but I don’t hold it against those who did, 60 years ago.

It took a while for some to realise the bad connotations… almost till this century.

Duane Eddy, in fact, grew up in Arizona, and was known for his strong stance on civil rights and supporting black musicians in that era.

I’ll give him a pass for the caps back then.

Meanwhile… I’ve never heard of the Silver Convention and they seem a little too pop for me…

But Gladys Knight and the Pips…. “not very good”???

“Fly Robin Fly” was a big hit here in Germany back then.

Funny, in those days before the internet…

a group could have an “international” hit that was unappreciated in their own country.

It may just be me… maybe it was a bigger hit here than I remember, but it’s new to me.

Some songs from other countries were big hits here…

“Wooden Heart” from Germany was one… based on “Muss i Denn”…

first popular in German, then sung in English mistranslation by none other than Elvis Presley.

And “Volare” from Italy, “Sukiyaki” from Japan, and more.

All were first played here in their native languages,

then sung by other people in English…

with lyrics and even titles supposedly translated, but having little to nothing to do with the original songs.

“Sukiyaki” was only called that because it was a Japanese word that non-Japanese speakers recognised, though slightly mispronounced.

That’s a bit less possible now, with truly international music so available on the internet… and many groups singing their own hits with some English lyrics.

On another topic entirely.
If you haven’t seen these today, you might be able to use them (open the U.R.L. in a new window, or you’ll probably lose this page).

My goodness!

I hope Claude is just talking about mistaking that stuff for bathroom cleaner!

Unlikely, considering the minute size of the jar, and the fact that we usually don’t call that particular fixture the “stool”, nor should he want to soften it at all….

But if you mean any other use of it, Claude…. TMI!

I’d rather spare you the details.

I don’t understand, though maybe that’s for the better, judging by your second sentence.

Stool softener is medication.

LIttle pills… another reason that in RL, Claude wouldn’t have accidentally cleaned the toilet with it, but hey, it’s a comic.

The only use for it, usually, is swallowing it, and it’s not lethal, so not very useful for suicide…

But also not something we generally discuss with the neighbors.

Oh, ok.

I said he’s mistaking “that stuff” (stool softener) for bathroom cleaner.

I didn’t say he was mistaking bathroom cleaner for stool softener…

That would be gruesome.

But that’s said backwards from what I said…

And also, it wouldn’t have softened the toilet.
