I’ve heard that she didn’t want to work with the cat, and preferred the scenes where Holly claims not to love it.
Supposedly, too, the director had a hard time getting her to show the required affection for it in the final moments… but in the end, Cleo’s a trouper, and wouldn’t let down the film.
…
Nowadays, though… AFAIK… we don’t know much about the feline actor who played Cat…
neither its name nor even whether it was male or female… as Cleo allegedly refused to share billing with a cat.

This might be “the role that Cleo was born to play.” It’s hard to pin that down to just one.
What a great poster! Our Cleo can sure wear those diamonds well!
I sure like the videos by one of my favorite composers, Henry Mancini. This is the only movie I know of where Marnie Nixon didn’t dub Audrey’s voice. Lovely.

Great poster! I have always loved this movie and Audrey Hepburn. Holly Goploddingly cracked me up! Cleo is perfect to star in this movie.
[human version]
Well… she’s no Cleo Clifford… but she looks pretty OK.
I heard that she refused to sing about kibble, so they renamed Cleo’s famous, award winning song, “Moon River,” just for this human.
…
….
My big brother brought the blues into our house. My mother loved this song, and often quoted it to us.
You can’t hear too much Ray Charles.
‘Specially when he’s singing about my favorite man! (not that I want to get rid of him)
…
Dion singing “Runaround Sue” with what seems to be a half-dead audience. LOL
…
Not his demographic, maybe. They did clap politely.

Hope that was a trail cam and not a hide.
You can almost hear this one calling to its sibling: “Hey Pat! Check this out! I’m lookin’ at it, and I think it’s lookin’ at me.”
I wonder if Cleo ever had to go so long without kibble or biscuits:

Cleo wears that gown so well! And who knew she had a kitten!
Only in the movies.

Oh… Biscuits at Tiffany’s!
…
I love that film… haven’t seen it in forever.
Maybe it’s time to watch it again… this revival at the BassetplexIV is perfectly timed. Won’t even need the ScaredyCat Row.
….
Cleo was so young, and so slender (for a basset hound)… yet she managed a look of great sophistication. Just like her character, Holly Goploddingly.
Sigh… how beautiful she looks… and how we all wanted to be just like her.
…
Though she’s no great howler, she howled her own songs in this film…. though I heard that ‘Moon Kibble” was written expressly for her vocal range.
Nope. No ScaredyCat Row for me, either. I’ll bring some extra kibble for the gang.

Looks like an odd version of SPAM.
Still don’t like scrapple or spam.
