I decided on that one too; it’s the nearest thing to a cat that’s easily visible.
But cats don’t have visible fangs.
I’m just going to say that the puzzle art is not the best, and say that that’s the answer.
Edited in about 15 minutes later:
I went looking for an official solution and found it in this “Woman’s Day” ARTICLE from October of last year.
Our choice was correct (but I still say poor art work).
From Randy Bachman, himself.
On his now canceled CBC radio show “Vinyl Tap” (it ran for 16 seasons) Randy said that the stuttering in “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” was a tease at his brother who does have a stutter.
People if you liked the original “Quantum Leap“, I’m sure you’ll like the re-boot.
I’ve watched all three episodes aired thus far, the fourth airs tomorrow and should be on line by Wednesday at the latest, and I’ve really liked all of them.
The cast works well together, and the writing is excellent. If you can find it, it’s well worth the time.
thanks for the ”thumbs up”. unfortunately the new Quantum is on NBC, which we don’t get. so we’ll have to wait for it to be streamed on Peacock. (an NBC affiliate)
From yesterday.
I agree with both your points about the spelling of Lief’s (possibly Liev;s) last name; and his first name must, of course, be included.
I was raised Jewish so I saw words like Chanukah, Hannuka, Chanakka… That can’t be spelled wrong (or can only be spelled wrong) because the correct spelling is with the Hebrew alphabet.

Well, I will be cooking pierogi with sauerkraut tomorrow. I have to get my wife in for her surgery at 8 AM so I will be turning in soon, before gocomics turns.
I know it must make me seem old… but I’m pretty sure I remember a time when a dog had to whine, or scratch, or maybe give a little bark, to be let in the door.
In fact, they mostly were only allowed out the back door, which if they were lucky, was sometimes a left a bit ajar, just until they came back in.
The even luckier ones had a doggie door to the back yard.
…
Most dogs only went out front on a leash, with a person.
Remember when that person was called the dog’s master or mistress?
Hahahaha. Right.
…
Cleo obviously has her own key… and nobody yells at her when she slams the door against the wall… or if she mocks her devoted mistress’… er… her kitchen slave’s cooking.
Or ever, really.
…
If there’s truly a “master” or “mistress” in the Clifford household…
It’s a safe bet that she has long brown ears and a tail.
I love cabbage… raw cabbage, cooked cabbage… in cole slaw, shredded on my tacos… stir fried, in borscht, cabbage rolls, etc.
And I love pickles. I even like pickled red cabbage.
The smell of cooking cabbage doesn’t bother me at all…. I like it. Especially a big pot of my chicken or beef borscht with cabbage and beets.
….
I’ve never figured out, then, why I can’t stand sauerkraut or kimchi.
Don’t bother telling me how much either resembles the things I do like, or that if I “only tried real homemade __ ” because I have.
I’ve had real old fashioned sauerkraut my grandmother made in a big crock, and I was once given a jar of homemade kimchi by a long ago Korean neighbor.
But I hated the smell and taste of both.
It must be the fermentation… though I love miso, and the taste of dark beer.
Sauerkraut is bitterly salty. The wifey likes it browned in the cast iron skillet.
I get smoked pork chops from my Hillbilly smokehouse. Now, pork chops can cook up rather tough, the smoked ones even more so. I will put these in the slow cooker with something to supply moisture. Half of the package, I will use mushroom soup (Golden, not the Cream Of) and lots of veg. The other half package, I will cover with a real nice sauerkraut I’ve found. Then, a half hour before they are done, I’ll put in a handful of Amish egg noodles to take the edge off the bitter. Have to cover the noodles with the kraut, or they will stay crunchy.
Well, there might be a few hours the day before, of getting a costume together, or baking cupcakes… and a classroom party on Friday, if Halloween were on the weekend…
Or a kid’s, or later, a grown-up, Halloween party on a different Friday or Saturday night.
But that’s IT.
….
The rest of the month … thus the year…. was blessedly free of ghosts and goblins, snaggle-toothed witches, black cats (unless I knew them), and other spooky images, and scary howls.
Even the dime store Halloween costume my mom finally bought me, after years of trick or treating in her homemade effort: a sheet with eyeholes cut in it…. was a clown, not anything creepy.

LONDON – GLASGOW – TORONTO COLLINS
A White Circle Book Toronto I.S.B.N. 0 00 682482 X
Temperature 325°F Time 1 hour
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1 1/4 cups white sugar
1 cup egg whites
(8 to 12 egg whites)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon almond flavouring
Sift flour; measure again into sifter; add 1/4 cup white sugar.
Sift four times.
Beat egg whites and salt till foaming.
Add cream of tartar.
Beat again till stiff but not dry.
Add remaining cup of sugar by the tablespoonful, beating constantly.
Beat until there is no grit of sugar.
Fold in flavourings.
Sift and fold flour mixture into egg mixture in four additions.
Pour into ungreased tube 9″ tube pan; cut batter gently through with knife; this will remove air bubbles.
Bake in moderate oven until done.
Invert on cooling rack for 1 hour, gently loosen and
remove from pan. Yield 12 slices.
Notes from me:
A moderate oven ranges from a low of 325° F. to a high of 400° F. The range is because in the days before oven thermometers and thermostats there was a heat test done which used flour. I’d use 350° F. on the third rack (top rack is first).
Good morning from Texas. I’m sorry I haven’t been posting. I forgot to bring my tablet and the phone is a pain with my eyes. I’ve been having a great time. I posted some photos on yesterdays forum for anyone interested.
Just found out it’s your birthday. I’d tell you to have fun, but I think you already are. Enjoy your special day and the rest of your vacation.🎂🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈

I had to magnify it, but I finally found it.
I must have found it… but I’m not totally convinced.
Take a look….
I should have said, I’m pretty sure I found the animal in question…
but I’m not totally convinced it’s a cat.
It has the same cute face and little fangs as all the bats…
but it’s the only one I could find with tiny whiskers (that’s what the yellow arrow points to) … and no batwings.
The ones you see appear to be attached to its neighboring bats.
Ergo: It’s a cat?
I decided on that one too; it’s the nearest thing to a cat that’s easily visible.
But cats don’t have visible fangs.

Speaking of sauerkraut….
Well, the strip was, anyway….

Just the way it goes, I guess.
Sauerkraut is bitterly salty. The wifey likes it browned in the cast iron skillet.

As the Koreans say, “c’est la vie.”
I didn’t know that saying was Korean. 🤔 As we say, you learn so much reading the comics.😄😂🤣
And speaking of the olden days…
I remember when Halloween was just one night.

I was a clown every Halloween till I outgrew it.
Sigh….
In the days when clowns weren’t creepy…

So – you’re the third person I know whose birthday is on 10.10.
Happy^3 Birthday!
Aren’t you supposed to cook that in a week that will allow open windows for about 3 days?
Good morning fellow Cleophanatics!
Ten “National” days today….pick your favorite.
I’m going with National Kick Butt Decorating an Angel Food Cake Day.
For Mental Health Day… (be kind, it’s not PC, but it’s part of my yout and if you can’t laugh at yourself…)
Y’all have a safe day. (((((HuGz!)))))
Indigenous People’s Day!
I TOTALLY agree with Cleo on this one. Don’t want to smell it ~ don’t want to eat it ~ don’t want to look at it! But, that’s just me.
And me.
Since when does any dog complain about a dead cow smell? Or a dead anything smell?
I haven’t had kraut in ages, but as I recall I liked it on a hot dog. Haven’t had a hot dog in ages either.
Strange dog, describing the smell of “dead cow” as being objectionable .
she’s been humanized
