I guess sometimes it’s handy to have your own raincloud…

It’s not always the way it is for poor, unfortunate Joe Btfsplk.

Love the flash mobs! Too bad we don’t have them in Montana!

Stones were such babies in 1964 (I was 13). Mick didn’t have his swagger on yet.

I think it varied from performance to performance…

The camera already loved him… along with handsome baby Brian Jones… RIP.

Charlie Watts, also now gone, was already the one in a suit and tie… rolling his eyes at the attention when he was shown in close-up.

Here’s a short set from the TAMI show, also from 1964, where he does a bit more strutting … or at least dancing.

You can really see his personality emerging.

The one who amazes me, looking at old times, is Keith Richards.

Unless I missed it, there’s not one close-up of him in either video…

No antics, except for a bit of dancing…. no solo…

and unless he’s hiding it really well, no hint of the future wild man in that innocent face.

They weren’t just extra dancers … the Stones were the closing act of a huge concert.

There were some go-go dancers that had been onstage through a lot of the performances…

But most of the people who were dancing were the other performers, from earlier in the show…

You can see James Brown in front…

In the dancing crowd were the Supremes, the Beach Boys, Chuck Berry, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Leslie Gore, and a whole bunch of others… not that I can pick them out.

Jan and Dean were the announcers who introduced them.

Everybody running onstage and dancing to the Stones’ final song was supposed to be the grand finale.

I didn’t think it looked so great either…But the crowd was cheering, and I guess it was a way to get them all out there for a final bow..

You are on a roll tonight Stel. Basset Witch project followed by 3 spooky selections. Actually I don’t find the Bach spooky but I cannot imagine how such a young fellow could have mastered that instrument, requiring hands and feet and assistance! I learned something watching that.

Those poor puppydogs!

It’s a good thing I know this is “just a movie”… or so they tell me…

and nothing has actually happened to those sweet little pups.

Otherwise I’d have to send a search party.

I don’t really want to see it… I was going to say I’d come sit in the Scaredycat Row just for the camaraderie…. and I’d buy the kibblecorn.

But it sounds like we’re watching it (or not) at Montana Lady’s house….

So I’ll sit behind the couch with her…. and whoever else … Happyᵌ? Dennis? Arfside (or are you a watcher?)… wants to join us.

….

PerkyCat and StelBel and Nighthawks and the rest of you brave souls can sit ON the couch, or wherever you like.

In fact, Nighthawks and Cleo will probably sit right near the screen, yelling out “More blood!”

You don’t need to tell us, behind the couch, what’s happening on the screen.

Let me rephrase that… DON’T tell us what’s happening… if you know what’s good for you.

Do we need a spot for those of you who want to watch, but still need a warning for when to cover your eyes?

I’ve thought about asking for a section like that at the BassetPlexIV, with a curtain that actually comes down in front of those seats at the appropriate times…

But some in the group might have a higher or lower tolerance level… or the guy whose job is to control the curtain might have a mean sense of humor…

So I think, just like at Montana Lady’s house, maybe we should leave it at a verbal warning.

What can I bring, M.L.?

Fruit salad?

Cupcakes?

Devilled eggs?

How about my special Halloween devilled eggs that look like eyeballs? They’re not scary.

Gin Tonic, Key-West-style?
I’ll happily join you – not because I’m scared but because I just don’t like that kind of movie.

While I manage the Tiki, I’m not actually a bartender… or much of a gin and tonic drinker.

I’m not familiar with Key West-style gin and tonic… but I can ask Fenton to make some, if it’s OK with our hosts.

Sounds like they’d have a touch of lime.

For me, this movie seems more of a hot chocolate sort of affair…

maybe spiked with a touch of brandy, to ward off the cold night wind in the Northern forest.

Then again… since I won’t be watching it… I suppose a semi-tropical drink might be in order, too!

Not a problem; I’ll provide the ingredients. Just need ice.
Hot chocolate sounds excellent, too.

You guys are too much! Better bring enough for the whole gang, Once they hear about the deviled eggs and wine and gin ‘n tonic and salsa and chips, I’m sure we’ll need to meet at our house.

Not a fan of spooky movies — they depend too much on a suspension of common sense. I’m all for drinking behind the couch, though. I’ll bring nachos and beer.

My solution:

I’m not always right, but when I am…..
I count fifteen birds in the picture.
Whether or not they’re ducks depends upon acceptance of the stylizing,
I’ll now check nighthawks’ spoiler.

The basset universe no doubt had a better ending; I’ve always thought the human version’s a bit flat in relation to its really well done build-up.
If you want to check for yourself the human “The Blair Witch Project” …

…IS HERE…

…as always…..click out of the clutter (not quite 82 minutes).

That basset on the poster is really scary. The other three bassets are super cute! I was rather disappointed in the movie ~ not really scary. Maybe I heard too much about it before I saw it. The poster was well done!
The forward arrow on the Carl Orff picture above is deinitely in the wrong place.
Loved the dancing skeletons!
And how on earth did you get a picture of me!! I try to be so private.
