The spoiler box contains an article, complete as I read it on the 12th, credited to “The Canadian Press” with a this-side-of–the-border story about the easing vaccination rules for outsiders visiting the U.S.
The very last paragraph is probably the one you’ll be most interested in; but if there’s flying involved, the full article is relevant.
It took me well under two minutes to read in the paper, so figure about three minutes on the computer (it’s been demonstrated we read more slowly from a screen).
The Canadian Press Article
Canadians immunized against COVID-19 with the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine can visit the United States when new travel regulations come into play next month, but it’s not yet clear whether those with mixed doses will make the cut.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Monday travellers will be able to fly to the States if they’ve received shots of vaccines approved or recognized for emergency use by the World Health Organization or the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
It did not say whether that included people who had received a mixed-dose regimen of approved vaccines.
“CDC will release additional guidance and information as the travel requirements are finalized,” said a statement from spokeswoman Jasmine Reed on Monday.
The agency began informing airlines of its decision last week, she added.
Last month, White House officials said international travellers would be allowed to visit beginning in November as long as they were fully vaccinated. They did not say which vaccines would meet that criteria.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved three COVID-19 vaccines, and AstraZeneca was not among them. It is, however, approved by the WHO. It also does not allow for mixing doses of Pfizer and Moderna.
More than 3.9 million Canadians have two different doses of Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccines, not including Quebec, which does not categorize data by vaccine product.
“The new travel rules in the U.S. replace Trump-era travel bans that restricted visits to the U.S. by those who had recently been in the United Kingdom, the European Union, China, India, Iran, Ireland, Brazil and South Africa.
Passengers will have to show proof of vaccination before boarding, as well as a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than three days before departure.
Meanwhile the land border between the U.S. and Canada is set to remain closed until at least Oct. 21.

I don’t know if you saw this comment (right click and open in a new window, or you’re liable to lose this page) or not which I posted on your birthday.
Again, I hope everything works out for you and yours one way or another.
I didn’t do it as a formal link this time so it would be easy to copy and lable.
Your Chicken,Shrimp,Ham and Sausage Filé Gumbo is the first recipe in the list once “Show All Comments” is clicked.
It sounds tasty !
And, yes!……….it’s the BEST!! (a lot of work, but absolutely worth it! I used to make it about twice a year….especially at Mardi Gras. I would make double the recipe, so that I could freeze some.)
I’ve been known to add more chunky veggies and you always have the option of decreasing the meat or seafood….this is just the recipe that I grew to love when I was in New Orleans for Mardi Gras throughout the ’80s. Once you have the roux and basic ingredients and seasonings, the only limit is your imagination. There are countless other gumbo recipes out there….each cook personalizes it to their own preferences.
Look up recipes on-line and you’ll see what I mean! I would guess there are THOUSANDS!!!! ………..and, you’ll find one that fits perfectly with your favorite ingredients. Like all really great dishes, gumbo evolved from poorer folks putting together what they had on hand and stretching the recipes with creative seasonings and ingredients that were plentiful to feed their large families.
Again, you’re only limited by your imagination! I usually try a recipe as written initially, then jot down what I would add or eliminate the next time. I hope you give it a try!!!!
Stel…. I posted this to you on yesterday’s page, in reply to your comment about all the dancers who joined the Rolling Stones on stage at the October 1964 T.A.M.I. Concert.
But in case you don’t go back there, or others want to know, I’m pasting it here, too….
….
They weren’t just extra dancers … the Stones were the closing act of a huge concert.
There were some go-go dancers that had been onstage through a lot of the performances…
But most of the people who were dancing were the other performers, from earlier in the show…
You can see James Brown in front…
In the dancing crowd were the Supremes, the Beach Boys, Chuck Berry, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Leslie Gore, and a whole bunch of others… not that I can pick them out.
Jan and Dean were the announcers who introduced them.
Everybody running onstage and dancing to the Stones’ final song was supposed to be the grand finale.
I didn’t think it looked so great either…But the crowd was cheering, and I guess it was a way to get them all out there for a final bow..
After I posted that comment, it did occur to me that I probably should have watched the video in full-screen, rather than the tiny version that appears here. Maybe I would have seen the other stars out on stage. Still, it was somewhat chaotic and, in my opinion, not the best way to end the show. Better to let the Stones finish their final song, then all come out and join in a group song, perhaps.
But, I’m just nit-picking. It hardly really matters after all these decades. And, like you mentioned, the audience was really enjoying the whole experience.

THANK YOU SO MUCH, ALEXI!

That link leads to a host of recipes from many cooks!
I am hesitant to commit to the gumbo. Strange to me to cook 4 kinds of meat and little else, all cooked the same, to produce a stew.
Stil, until I try it, I’ve got nothing to beef about (or shrimp, or chicken, or pork).

What a cute dog… he’s so open-faced.
I can see that he’s not pure bread…
But I don’t carrot all… olive his parts make a nice mix.
I’d take him to the beach, so he could play with all the sand which is there.
Peas, everybody, I know you’re stirred up…
but try to simmer down!

These monsters will soon be in hot water…
Soup-er Man has bean waiting for them!
He’s on the weigh now to give them a pounding… and boy is he steamed!
….
Stand back… give him as mushroom as you can…
Wait till you see tomorrows peppers!
