Here is a dabble into the artist who created the above.
A. L. Crego is his name, and this is just a dabble.

With my slow internet, I didn’t bother waiting…

I just opened it in a new tab and let it sit while I did other things. When I came back everything had loaded.

….

If I’m understanding it correctly, Crego is amazing.

….

This is an art festival in Spain, where artists painted giant murals all over town… museum quality, contemporary art.

There’s a short video of all the work going on…
I’m not crazy about the artsy video style, particularly the purposely shaking camera…

I’d prefer a more straightforward film that would explain better… but still, it’s fascinating to watch,

Then this artist, A. L. Crego, uses photos of the artwork and turns the paintings into moving gifs.

As they’re all still, he has to invent the motion, and create all the interim frames… in the exact style, linework, shading and colors of the originals.

I wonder whether he discusses with the creators what their various creatures and shapes are going to be doing when they’re animated.

In any case the effect is fantastic, and very impressive.
I just sat there and stared at it for ages.
But then… well… that’s me.

You might find yourself doing the same thing, though.

BTW… That the city and the building owners allow all this, and that there are loads of multi-story blank walls, with no windows, for them to paint on, are already a wonder to me.

So sophisticated.

A 2-story motel in my city once allowed an artist to paint a beautiful mural on one of their outside walls, in lieu of room rent.

It wasn’t avant garde … it showed a stylised version of the surrounding countryside, and some local attractions… like an old postcard, but very well done.

People came to see it, and take pictures… the newspaper praised it.

The city should have paid the artist, or commissioned him to do more, in other locations.

Instead they fined the motel heavily until they got it painted over. Philistines.

I’ve sometimes wondered if the art style used throughout the…
…(Munich? München? / different German spellings depending upon how the city is referred to or simply the English spelling and German spelling used because of the language being written in?) …
…wall art has an official name.
It is, after all, pretty much worldwide; it’s even in these cities,….

…Beijing…

…Pyongyang…(the rest of the photographs here: WOW ‼ )

…and Naypyitaw…

… where you wouldn’t expect any, for example. .

I doubt that street art is favored by the current regime in Myanmar.

“Along Comes Mary” and “Kind of a Drag” are burned into my brain. I wish the Buckinghams had brought the horn player on stage.

As the clipping is much too neat for me to have done it, I’m saying my mother cut it from the “Vancouver Sun” on a Wednesday sometime in the 1980s.

Clip credited to: Associated Press
Floating Eyeballs

Equipment:
Melon baller
10 small serving bowls (clear is best)

Ingredients:
2 pkgs (each 3 oz/85 g) red Jell-O
2 cups (500 mL) vanilla ice cream
20 chocolate chips or candy-
coated chocolate chips
20 gummy worms

In a large measuring cup with a pouring
spout, make Jell-O according to package
directions. Set aside to cool.

Meanwhile, using melon baller, scoop 2
balls of ice cream (sic). Arrange balls next to
each other in the centre of one serving
bowl. Gently press one chocolate chip into
centre top of each ball. Place bowl in
freezer and repeat process with remaining
bowls. Once Jell-O has cooled (but not
set), remove one bowl from freezer. Pour
just enough Jell-O into the bowl to come
halfway up ice-cream “eyes.” Place bowl
in refrigerator and repeat process with
remaining bowls.

To serve, garnish each bowl with
gummy worms. Makes 10 servings.

Note from me:

There is only the rest of today (14th) and 16 more days until the next day is Halloween.
This is one of those recipes where it will likely be the fourth one that comes out properly.
So I’m giving you practice time.
Jell-O and ice-cream; never too much.

Getting into the Halloween spirit, Stel? I know I would not want our basset actors to deal with what the humans did in their version. Too creepy!

The Grieg piece reinforces my opinion that the organ is a very difficult instrument! If you can’t play it in flip-flops, I am never going to get it.

Halloween is really on the way…. where can I hide?

I mean… what a lovely poster.

Yeaah... that’s what I meant…. of course.

Montana Lady… can I come over? For about… oh.… 2 weeks?… and maybe one more day?

I’ll bring groceries, and cook for you guys, and wash dishes… and do laundry and stuff…

and we can pretend it’s May…

No scary movies in May!

No… I’m sorry. It’s rude of me to ask.
And I should be brave, anyway… and stay home like a grownup.

But then I have to look at Halloween movie posters all by myself.

And eeeek! There’s a giant basset in the air!

<<shiver>>

Why do people in these movies buy spooky houses., anyway?

Others go for walks in the dark woods… run upstairs to get away from mad slashers… stay behind when their friends run….

Maybe I should think of it as the Darwin effect in action.
Just culling the herd.

No danger to those of us who never do anything stupid…. oh… wait… HELP!! HELP!!!

Calling 911 may help – or not…

Try to relax, ma’am. … You say it was dark and you were alone in the house, when suddenly you felt a hand reaching from behind and…JOHNSON! KNOCK IT OFF!

OH! A Halloween visit!!! Come on over! We don’t have any spooky movies. And we can play the fun movies as loud as we want ’cause the neighbors are far off.

Hey! If housework is involved, c’mon over to my house…..I have plenty! And, as winter approaches, I would love to pretend it it May.

I’d love to… Thank you…

if things like cooking, dishes, and laundry will help.

But… sorry, I can’t really do heavy stuff… I hope you wouldn’t be disappointed.

And…um…the other thing is… I thought you liked to watch scary movies.

Could we have no scary movies in “May”?
