I see Mickey Mouse in the center, a tad to the right. Next to him is that older black and white character. I recognize him… Bosco? I think that is incorrect.
From what I could find, an illustration of a demon, attributed to Louis Le Breton, 1818, when published in the 1863 Dictionanaire Infernal by Jaques C. de Plancy.
One source calls it an etching, the other a woodblock. FWIW, which isn’t much, I vote etching,
I got neither the youth nor the adult (as usual), but while investigating after I searched, I found out that one of his movies was based on a well known song….
….”Oh, Pretty Woman,” by Bill Dees and Roy Orbison.
I’m guessing that, based on her current condition, StelBel will have a slower recuperation than we would wish for her. I started thinking about it, and I would bet that, as she recuperates, she will enjoy seeing what went on during her absence so it helps to bring her back to where she was prior to the stroke. Then again, I hope I’m totally wrong and none of this is needed.
Apropos Piper Laurie (who passed away this Saturday at age 91) – She starred in a movie named “Hounddog”.
There’s something Candi can get her teeth into…
Today’s Songs:
‘Nina Pretty Ballerina,’ ‘O Fortuna,’ ‘Orinoco Flow,’ and ‘Our House,’ and the ‘Cheap Thrills Cuisine’ recipe ‘Avocado Soup.’
As I’ve said, my favourite ABBA video.
It was StelBel who posted another version of this opera piece; and I finally got to know its name.
Full name in the Irish language, Eithne Pádraigín Ní Bhraonáin. Enya is a phonetic English spelling of Eithne.
I’ve always liked the ‘with two cats in the yard‘ lyric line.
I was going to add an image to my comment but I’m not sure how you cool people are doing that! I’m not very techy. I searched around the googles and didn’t find it. Anyone care to enlighten me?
the easiest way is to click on that little ‘scenic’ box in the far right on the bottom of the comment box. That will give you access to your files where you can transfer an image to here.
It’s good to have you back, sir!–wish it was under better circumstances—Stel always speaks well of you and your work
First off, that second part of your comment really got me. That was so nice to read. Thank you. I don’t intend to be a stranger here. Like so many hobbies/interests in my life (playing guitar, drawing, writing, etc) I can’t seem to keep myself focused for very long and end up floating away from them. Luckily, I still manage to hold down a career and stay faithful to my family. haha. So, at least there’s that.
Secondly, thanks for the tech tip. I’ll try it now. All my love to all of you.
.
Now that is a blue eyed blond.
Aw… this appears to be an albino basset.
I’ve read that albino dogs usually retain a little pigment, so the blue eyes and bits of light tan fur don’t mean otherwise.
Should he or she be out in the bright sun?
Not if she/he is a true albino.
And not without copious amounts of high SPF sunscreen.
NOSE!

This doesn’t look like Eastwick!!!
Apparently an iPhone wallpaper.
I do wish they’d credit the artists of wallpapers somewhere! !
OK – Witch one is this delivery for?!?
(from brooms ‘r’ us)
This looks so peaceful and serene.

I feel like I should be looking for Waldo.
I’m sure he’s not there… This is not the sort of company he keeps.
I’m guessing they’re all video game characters?
Oh… I haven’t played many video games but I do recognize Mario and Luigi down front… so maybe I’m right.
I saw Sonic and the guy from Zelda.
Yeah, I see Sonic too.
There’s are a few others I kind of recognize but not enough to know their names.
I think maybe the artist stuck in some old familiar ones so people like me would get the concept. 😁
It looks like Wreck-It Ralph is right in the middle.
And Princess Sugar whatever is sitting on his shoulder.
Looks crowded. I think I’ll wait for the next train.
just another day in Tokyo
No chance to wait then; they have staff to stuff you in.

Maybe a couple of woodblocks upside the head?
Looks like a candidate for a good leg takedown. You’d have to crawl up and neutralize the head pretty quickly, but it’s worth a shot!
Kick that knee joint sideways.

Salvator Rosa
In Translation: “The Temptation of St. Anthony”
Dali used it too, in 1946
It’s hard to imagine what, in that tableau, is supposed to be tempting Anthony.
I’m guessing the temptations of power, control, lust and greed, among others.
My assumption is that we’re seeing the real form of the demon, while Anthony sees a beautiful temptress.
Didn’t get the young picture, but I know the adult actor.
For a moment I almost misidentified him but my brain finally kicked in..
i didn’t get the youth OR the adult either!!!
we’re running in the same circles
Just for completion,

LOL!
Leondoggo da Bassetti.
“Vitruvian Basset”.
Shows a basset hound inscribed in both a circular and a square wonton wrapper, thereby highlighting his resemblance to a dumpling.
Love it!
Oh my…. I see someone hasn’t been fixed. Don’t tell Bob BARKer.
Coincidence.

Thanks, Arfside!
Happy you-know-what to you too.
I wasn’t going to mention it till we can celebrate, cos I didn’t want to get a party started under the circumstances… but we’ll make it up to you.
I’ll just postpone getting older until StelBel gets back, right? A piece of cake!
You just had to…

One of my all time favorite DM sound effects.
Happy censored thing to you!
Cleo couldn’t possibly have done it.
Her legs are too short.
That’s her story and she’s sticking to it.
The 500 pounds of kibble where?
Oh… all those 25 pound bags must have fallen out of the truck when it stopped, and landed in the garage.
Maybe it’s a truck designed for people who resemble Cleo’s physique?
