Look at that frightened look. He watched the driver reach next to him for change and throw it out into the toll. He wonders, “am I next?”

Something missing here…..

It doesn’t say how much was recovered by the owners, or whether they or their plane survived, or whether most of it was flown or trucked out.

….

But I can tell you that 20 people couldn’t have made a much of a dent in 6,000 pounds by smoking it! That’s three tons!

And unless they had trucks, by carrying it out, either…. even by filling their pockets and backpacks. It’s bulky stuff.

If each person somehow made off with a couple of kilos, that’s less than 100 pounds.

If all 20 stayed a whole year, hiding in the woods, and each smoked 2oz a day, that’s not even quite half a ton … And I’m sure they didn’t!

So where did it really go?

I think it’s a b/w photo of the city, but the top, with Mt. Fuji, might be a painting.

“Dingbats” is being used in place of “rebus.”
I got 11, 12, 13, and 19.
The answers to numbers 17, and 18 are reversed in the answer link below.

Somebody should be shot for dreaming up number nine!

I haven’t looked at the link yet… In case I can find anything else.

But I did just check yours and Strega’s and none of us got #9, nor did Happy³ report finding it.

There are some that I still think someone should be shot for, like 4 & 5, regardless of how many solved them.

I almost hope my # 4 is wrong, the “joke” is so bad! 😁

If I’m right about them, numbers 4 and 5 are horrible, contrived puns, that I’m embarrassed to even have guessed.

My actual guesses are in bold…

1. Writing down history? I don’t think that’s right.
Wait… The answer to 16 tells me this might be repeating history.

2. Dunno

3. It’s probably got to be Henry the 8th but what a terrible clue.

4. Man Forks?? Noooo…. Please tell me it’s not Guy Fawkes!

5. Napoleon Bonaparte? Yuck…. (No pole E on bone apart)

6. Iron age

7. French Revolution

8. Rosa Parks

9. Dunno

10. Dunno

11. Cold war

12 peace treaties (peace tree T’s)

13. End of an era?

14. The big bang

15. World war III

16. Rewriting history… Oh! Maybe now I have the answer to #1.

17. A period in history?

18. History in the making

19. The beginning of time.

20. Dunno

To quote (or at least in these cases paraphrase) happyз.
Nope.
Is there a rule the music chosen has to be bad?

No thanks.

Neither, please.

Just think of the person or people who climbed that rock face and placed those footholds.

I’m fond of terra firma.

I’d think the whole formation was fake, made for climbing…. But it’s too big.

It looks like the climber is waving the filmmakers away…. “No pictures!”

BTW that’s not music; it’s noise.

I closed today around 4:00. No time to go take a load down.
So, i found out yesterday that the street out front of the old place is being paved tomorrow or Friday. One of the two. It starts at eight. Unless i want to drive to work with the van, full of stuff, and then go all the way down to Newport to unload my first load i’ll have to move the van down the street in the early morning before going to the 6:00 am shift in the car.
Just in case they pave tomorrow.

Woo Hoo on the closing! In some sense, woo hoo too for the fact that they’re paving your old street. Obviously, in the long run it will make driving there easier. But does it have to be right now?

I managed to get the van out before the paving crew shut down the street.
Buddy got to lay claim to the back yard.
My next day off is saturday so i’m going to grab u-haul tomorrow evening and move my boxes of books and some karger things i can handle.
When i’m at the point where i can’t do any more alone i’ve gat the card for a couple of guys that have a truck. They do local moves.
