It’s not just Proc(r)astinia… Look at the little sign on the left hand edge … “Open Eventaule”??
And at what’s supposed to say, I presume, “Again tomorrow”, in the newspaper the man is reading right in front.
And it’s not just spelling, either…. I mean, okay, maybe the train isn’t running, so it’s ok that the car is on the tracks on front of it? But if so… what’s that smoke?
And I guess it’s one of those historic small towns that only has one way train tracks instead of a street?
But even if you buy that… what’s holding up the foot of that magical hammock?
At first glance it looks a bit like a nursing college, or some such. That’s because we’re not used to seeing maids and other servants in what was considered proper dress 135 or so years ago.
It’s actually the female servants of an English country house, in the early 1990s….(Aaagghh 1890s! 1890s! Thanks MC!) It was used on a few pages as an example of rare smiles in Victorian photos.
Not only, as I’ve said before, had the photographic process become faster than people realized, catching candid moments that were impossible in the earliest photos… but probably servants were a little less caught up in the rules of decorum that made some “upper class” types unwilling to look “silly”.
LOL…. I check every time I post, cos autocorrect thinks it knows better than in do what I “meant” to say. I guess I missed one.
I fixed it for you 😉
It wasn’t so bad till maybe a year or so ago ..I think Google, which developed Android, is more and more given over to AI, and has integrated it into autocorrect, so sometimes it tries to rewrite whole sentences “for” me.
It’s gotten a little better in the last couple of months, “correcting” fewer of my pre-1900 dates…. but obviously, I still need to keep it in check!
“The Cyclist – 6am” …oil on canvas, Leonard Koscianski, 2014
Searching it, I saw that he painted several views of this and similar scenes, maybe a runner instead of a cyclist, or centered in a back yard, that all look like the same area.
Meanwhile, I should say, this is part of “The Cyclist”.
I don’t know whether a section this big is properly called a detail…
It’s more of a slice, of the painting below:
.
He’s got a full on slobber going!
..
“Junior! You get down off there this minute, before you get hurt!
And put the nice lady down!”
..,
This looks like a nice place to camp for tonight.
.
“Shouldn’t we change that to ‘ProcRastinia?'”
“Probably. Some day.”
Yeah… AI is really bad at spelling.

I just know you meant ‘1890s’, as the ‘1990s’ is the second Elizabethan period, not the Victorian one 😉
Good picture Nighthawks.

Yeah, now that we know the drill….
Oh… In case you don’t…
Find Scooby-Doo!
I mean, where is he, besides in the white square?

Now do it again.
Success! Found ’em!
Young Frankenbasset! Such a great movie!
So funny!
An early one for Cleo and Company Productions… they were still using humans for some important lead roles.
But things were already changing.
In fact, nine things changed just during this bit of the filming!
Do you see them?
A rare full house for me on this one after a slow start where I could only see two!
Got them!
I saw the movie, I don’t remember seeing them in it.
