I’m s sometimes surprised by how deep memory goes, for things we never thought we’d remember.
I looked at this picture and instantly thought I recognized this dog.
After examining a page full of pictures, I’ve decided this is not the same one. But she sure looks close.
I’m amazed that I still had any concrete memory of the face of a dog I haven’t seen since I was a kid!
I’m talking about the other Cleo the basset hound…
Who costarred with former child start Jackie Cooper (not to be confused with Jackie Coogan) on a TV show called “The People’s Choice”
Today’s Songs:
‘Photograph,’ ‘Poison,’ ‘Radar Love,’ and ‘Rainbow Connection,’ and the ‘Cheap Thrills Cuisine’ recipe ‘Back Bacon Mashed.’
Another day of wild swings in style; ‘Nickleback,’ Vincent Damon Furnier, ‘Golden Earring’ (with the bonus song below of Brenda Lee’s ‘Coming on Strong’ / truthfully, it ain’t that memorable in my opinion), and Kermit and Debbie Harry.
Back bacon / Canadian Bacon; same thing (back bacon like chesterfield seems to have almost disappeared from the Canadian vocabulary).
I’m sure a few of you have figured out that I’m not very fond of scary movies.
Funny thing is I used to love this one… there was just that one scene where I knew not to look.
I haven’t seen it in years, so I don’t know whether I could watch it now or not.
But I do like this poster a lot.
…
I remember when Stel was working on it.
Some things seem so obvious or easy when you see the finished product, but a lot goes into conjuring that illusion.
We spent at least an hour on the phone while she was working on getting those lights to blink realistically… talking about the timing, the shadows, the shades of white and gray.
She sent it to me a couple of times or three in progress.
I think they came out perfect!
…
Another thing I like is the upstairs window on the far left.
Yes… that’s Mother Basset. Watching for new guests?
….
This is where I usually talk about the movie itself, not just the poster.

NOSE!
,
Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, David Bowie,
Mick Jagger, Janis Joplin and Kurt Cobain.
That’s what i got.
I did good for once. 😀
I got the ones with their names ☺
I also recognized Mick Jagger. I guessed Janis by the location and the fact that they were all performers.
I got them all, but the last one because his name is on it.
I think it helped that I knew all but one of them had been arrested.
Helps shrink the available data base when I’m scrolling through my brain.
This LINK leads to an explanation of the top left mug’s arrest.
Quick set!
,
My research says this was taken anywhere from 1890 to 1910.
Because of the car, I’m saying a good deal closer to 1910 than 1890.
Designed by a Venezuelan ad agency.
Should have won a prize for “Best Use of Plastic Straws.”😀
The only reason I got the adult is because of the mug shots.
Even with the hint i missed it.
The kid picture looks more like him, as I remember him, than the mug shot.
There is a video at this LINK of people having fun at this beach.
not Max, but pretty close
I love those ears. 😀

Every camera angle; Mel Brooks did his satire well.
I’m waiting for nighthawks to reprise Cleo Clifford’s real life version.

But I’m about to go to sleep.
You don’t want me to scare myself, do you?
i’ll invite ALL of you scardy cats to use the back of my couch. i’ll bring in lots of popped kibble for EVERYONE!
popped kibble?
“Pop” goes the kibble…
the only way…
We also call it kibblecorn.
They sell it at the BassetPlex IV and other canine theaters, so now we’re used to it with our movies.
I’m not scared by that movie, but ‘d love to join you!
you can sit ON the couch!
Comfortably lie there.
Well there might be a few brave souls joining you there.
Not me, of course.
or me!
