Here’s the movie theme again, but with scenes from the movie. CAUTION: there is some graphic violence, so beware Behind-the-Couch group!! Remember, it’s all make-believe. It’s only a movie, it’s only a movie, it’s only a mov……….
I found that turning on my “technical critic” mindset allows me to jump out of the movie and try to determine how the special effects were done. On a few movies I was able to determine what was going to happen next and remove the fear factor.
“John lives on…”
I agree with SusanSunshine.
Close your eyes and you will notice a post-Beatles John, the lyrics, the meanings, the cadences, more on the first set than on the second one.
Due to some miscommunication last night, we ended up posting 2 pages for 10/21. I brought the 2 images (the picture frame and the cupcakes) that Nighthawks had posted on the other page over to this one. That’s all. Credit goes to NH.
Not perfect but seems fairly good… probably has been corrected by a lot of users…
The Google-generated English translation of the French text sung in “La Danse Macabre”…
by Camille Saint-Saëns
Zig and zig and zag, death in rhythm
Hitting a grave with his heel,
Death at midnight plays a dance tune,
Zig and zig and zag, on his violin.
The winter wind blows, and the night is dark,
Moans come from the lime trees;
White skeletons go through the shadows
Running and leaping under their great shrouds,
Zig and zig and zag, everyone wiggles,
We hear the dancers’ bones snapping,
Lustful couple sit on the moss
As if to taste old sweets.
Zig and zig and zag, death goes on
To scrape endlessly his sour instrument.
A veil has fallen! The dancer is naked!
Her dancer hugs her lovingly.
The lady is, they say, marquise or baroness.
And the gallant green a poor wheelwright – Horror!
And now she abandons herself
As if the boor were a baron!
Zig and zig and zig, what a sarabande*!
What circles of the dead joining hands!
Zig and zig and zag, we see in the strip
The king frolic with the villain!
But psit! suddenly we leave the round,
We push each other, we run away, the rooster has crowed
Oh ! A beautiful night for the poor world!
And long live death and equality!
Just for a lighter note… Camille is one of those names that were once male but are now often thought of as strictly female, with a few exceptions…
Like Evelyn, Carol, Lindsay, Ashley and Leslie.
Caroll O’Connor, Carol Reed, Evelyn Waugh, Lindsay Buckingham, and Leslie Nielson are or were men… so are Dana Carvey and Stacy Keach.
Leslie Howard, in “Gone With The Wind”, played nice-guy Ashley.
…
A number of years ago, I was given a beautiful but apparently hastily researched calendar, called something like “Famous Women in the Arts”, as a gift.
It was illustrated with paintings and drawings, and with photos of sheet music or instruments… but not of the artists.
Otherwise the publishers might have noticed that Camille Saint-Saëns … included along with Joan Miro, Jean Renoir, and at least two or three others … were men.
I knew that about all of them… I was amazed that someone went as far as designing or publishing a fancy calendar without knowing or checking!
The picture is a link to an article about the New Jersey Campground that was “cast” as Camp Crystal Lake .
There are some interesting points in it, not least of which is it is now owned by The Boy Scouts of America.
From yesterday.
Thanks for that lead. 🙂
I still haven’t got everything to work quite right yet, (but I think I’ve come close).
I’ll try again today and see what comes.
There’s a new building added to the original building that I work in. The new building has large double doors that swing open when you run your badge past the detectors. As I approach the slowly opening doors I hear that theme in my head.
[human? version]

Can you remove it permanently and show us that version?
Oh… and while you’re at it… please could you also remove any blood, gore, axe murders, hockey masks…. um…
sudden moves, jump cuts… and spooky music?
Plus any stupid fools… and…um… how about just removing Jason?
I’d really appreciate it… Thanks.
Yeah, maybe to YOU it’s just a movie.
To some of us it’s certain doom reaching out to grab us!
…..reaching out to grab you FROM THE MOVIE SCREEN!!! OK, yeah…..cartoon physics at play again, I suppose…
Glad you understand.
You do understand, right?
Valotte Julian Lennon
Too Late for Good-byes Julian Lennon
I know the stylistic choice is purposeful, and makes him sound even more like his father….
but with or without that… the (presumably genetic) vocal resemblance is striking.
“presumably genetic” as opposed to what? (just a little confused)
As opposed to coincidental…
Or purposely practiced and enhanced…
Or anything besides just purely genetic.
I guess.
How am I supposed to know what I mean if you don’t?

not to mention the striking physical resemblance!
[from Nighthawks]
Clever!
Where is Nighthawks?
sleeping.. .every night it’s the same thing–
get sleepy, fall asleep —sixteen hours later it all starts again

Clever, too!
At least he is cleaning up his own mess.

Okay, that made me laugh out loud. Neither one of those are thinking about cleaning up the mess.
Tattletail!
Nope.
One of my all time favorites!
When I have taken my last breath, this is planned to be played a few days later…
Oooh. Looks like a 3-D mask.
Bad dog, Jason!
The Danse Macabre (St Saens version) is fantastic!
Eeeek!
I looked… I fell asleep…
I woke up, assuming it had been a dream… but NO!
It’s still there!
…
Sniffle… make it go away!
I’ve got to get to the back of the couch without looking at the movie…
no fair… it started before I got to the safe zone!
…
If you can stand it, look at the human version Stel posted.
Not one drop of blood on that knife.
The humans, wicked as humans may be sometimes, didn’t even copy that bloody knife….
Was it the bassets’ idea… or StelBel’s?
…
Jason takes Cleveland, huh?
Well… Jason had better give it BACK!
I hope you can survive ONE MORE WEEK of scary stuff! Then, Halloween will be all over and done with for another year!
BTW, 65 more days ’til CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just in case anybody wants it…

Sean, or Shawn, is another name being feminized. What are we left with, John and Peter?
Haven’t met a female Dennis yet!
It was spooky enough when I could not follow the words!
.
Oooohh. Spooky but not scary.
..
Good luck for her abducting a basset – on a bicycle!!!
“Elderly woman found unconscious on a country road having tumbled over because of the heavy load on her bike while a tornado was on its way…”
One of the shortest movies ever.
slow news day in Kansas.
you’d think the tornado story would be up front
When there’s a tornado, them in Missouri run for the storm shelter. Them in Kansas run for the camera.
Not any more.
pumpkin cheesecake
Looks good!

Here’s the iguana I’ve promised a few days ago:
And this one is PG!
The censors must have been watching — they still have their shells on. 🙂

….but not THIS witch Hazel
The witch in the Bugs Bunny cartoon Alexikakos posted is also “Witch Hazel”….
But since one is Looney Tunes and the other Dell, they’re not the same character.
There may be others… It’s an easy joke.
