The longer you look at this photo, the stranger it gets.

It’s outdoors… There are possibly torn-up kids’ toys on the ground and a big pile of random stuff on the patio table.

Maybe Mr. Basset had been left out here alone too long

And I can tell you from experience that it will do no good to put the things you don’t want El Destructo the Hound From Hades to chew on up on that table. It only slows him down.

Aww…. I think “El Destructo” might be a bit harsh…

though if that was your latest issue of… whatever it is…. I’d understand.

Bassets are headstrong, like dachshunds, and I know from experience that the latter can get just about anything from anywhere, once they decide they must.

But this patio looks kind of abandoned and it probably took quite a while to do such a thorough job on that magazine.

A bored dog is a destructive dog…. And I’m sure a bored basset is a bored, headstrong, powerfully built chomping machine.

Okay…. Search says

this is from…

5 Card Stud, from 1968.

But the results I found

only credit…
Dean Martin, 2nd from right, and Robert Mitchum, at far right.

It also stars Roddy McDowall, whom i don’t believe is shown here, plus Inger Stevens and Yaphet Kotto, whom I can almost guarantee are not pictured.

I looked up the movie, and he was in it, so probably.

I can’t claim to recognize him… but it looks like his picture.

Didj’a see the other elephant’s trunk snaking in a couple of times from the lower right? It appeared also to be coming from inside the enclosure, so maybe it was a sort of “You GO, girl!” from one to another.

I thought salad too, till those heads kinda popped up.

I do have to wonder why one might have a bowl of parrots…

Looks like there’s a wire grid over sawdust. Some sort of parrot bath?

A few animals will take sawdust baths but AFAIK not these guys. They like water. My friend’s parrots got regular baths from a spray bottle of lukewarm water.

Or is that food?

The way they appear to be going at it i doubt it’s sawdust.

So the ones with lowered heads are eating it?

It does look that way… But it seems odd to put your birds right over their food, so they… um… soil it.

I thought maybe they were feeding from the little bowl, including seeds, and the shells were falling onto the sawdust or whatever was below.

I guess I need more chickens the most. I see no trace of a number in the yellow. Makes sense cos I have no trace of any chickens.
Not live chickens, anyway. Doesn’t sound like I’m supposed to count the chicken parts in my freezer.

Water and glasses show up most clearly as unneeded… Inaccurate, I’m afraid, because I need them both.

I’m supposed to be drinking more water, and my glasses are beyond getting too old. I’m assuming they mean I don’t need eyeglasses, not that I don’t need glassware from which to drink water, cos they say I don’t need any.

I can make out the other numbers if I enlarge the image a bit. Green is difficult…. but I most assuredly don’t need more food… I just ate.

I’d have a bit more faith in this method of divination if only we didn’t all see the same thing, or even if I saw it change for me after eating, drinking, talking ibuprofen… or buying a chicken.

This is one of those joke things, it turns out everyone needs more chickens!

The chickens were hiding when I was there, but these little ones thought I was going to feed them as I was working in the barn where they get fed every day.

Yikes.

I know we’ve all heard the line before… but this is just more proof, as if we needed it, that “common sense” isn’t as common as it ought to be.

If you go by the pictures we’ve been seeing here, in some circles it’s quite rare.

The moon transiting Earth….

taken in July 2015 by the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR), which studies the solar wind and takes pictures of Earth’s surface from about a million miles away.

Because DSCOVR is positioned farther towards the sun, this shows the “dark side” of the moon as it crosses in front of the earth.

As far as I’m aware, and have ever seen, most cameras are built with the shutter release on the RHS, so the photographer has to use their right hand to operate it, even if left handed.

True… a good point!

But I think….

that….
He’s more likely to be right-handed, anyway..
Only because 90% of people are right-handed, so there’s only a 10% chance that he’s a lefty. 😀

As opposed to the waiter…. Most right-handers don’t hold the tray with their right hand, so it’s far more probable.that he’s the left-handed one.

And I totally agree, but you can’t always trust these sorts of puzzles. It’s a bit like scissors, lefties are forced to use their non dominant hand if they want the things to cut properly as 99.999% of scissors are made for right handed use. But I do agree with your logic, I was just being contrary 😉

Trust these puzzles? Me?

Don’t forget that my tongue tends to get stuck inside my cheek.

I’m pretty much always contrary, if there’s an opportunity.

Actually some (most?) left handers still use scissors in our left hand, just adopt a painful twist to the fingers to make the blades mesh properly. (You’re absolutely right about cameras though.)

Way back when we were in our early 40s or so, I bought a lefty friend who sewed a lot her very first pair of left-handed shears, for her birthday..

She said she was delighted.

Maybe a dozen years later, they were still in her sewing drawer, but she confessed that she’d never been able to use them, or even figure out how to make them cut anything.

You are correct, and the only exception that comes to mind right now is the “Exacta” 35mm cameras. Manufactured in East Germany, it’s what my German southpaw paw shot with. So that’s what I learned on too. While they are not the same actual cameras we had in the 60s and 70s, I have a couple in my collection (as well as a camera from the Soviet Union.)

One of my earliest “good” cameras was an East German Zeiss that required you to use not only your right hand but also your right eye. When I used the viewfinder with my dominant left eye my nose got in the way and I ended up shooting well to the left of the subject I was aiming at!
