“Slick Hare” (1946) is not one of W.B.’s better cartoons, but here it is (I left the link as a “raw” U.R.L. out of necessity / scroll down when you reach the website and go full screen when you start the cartoon / the resolution is excellent).
The internet says Lauren Bacall (who makes an appearance) is one of the three stars Jessica Rabbit is based on. Rita Hayworth and Veronica Lake are the other two.
I remember a few friends telling me how when they were scaring younger siblings/cousins about the “boogey man”, they would start reacting to their own stories and getting kind of scared themselves.
I remember one time I was at a friend’s house when we heard what had to be a small child crying in the open area behind his back fence. We called the cops, and they couldn’t find anything. It was later reasoned to be a cat, but it really did sound like a small child crying.
Well… Not about what time my puzzle pals appear on a Friday night…
But I think I’m safe to assume that whatever Claude did for a living, before he retired, he was not a cabinet maker, a master carpenter, or any sort of handyman.
(Or … you know… a dog trainer… But that’s another subject altogether)
….
He probably wasn’t a mechanic, either, or a hair stylist….
Because if he were, he’d know that an extra bolt, a spare gasket, a tiny widget you don’t recognize… or in a hair salon, a curl that broke off from the bleach or perm solution…. is a “pocket part”….
You stick it in your pocket, and don’t tell the customer.
Almost quit with eight because I thought an artifact of one counted as the ninth. I didn’t trust that, so I kept looking and good golly, there was another one ☺
Interesting:
My spoiler box addition to your original static post still shows up in my comments list.
Clicking on it in the list brings me back here as if I’d clicked a box on the “Main Page”.
Edited in apropos of nothing here at 10:16 E.D.T.
Episode five of the “Quantum Leap” re-boot continues the really good quality of the preceding four (saying virtually anything about the plot would spoil it for those of you who haven’t yet started the series).
The good news is that there are 13 more episodes to come by this LINK

Almost the same time as last week…
And this time, no puzzle comments yet!
Just shows that you can’t assume, or even guess.

Shhhh, Claude!
When Clara asks why the shelves fell down….
The answer is “I dunno.”
….
Speaking of answers…
I suppose you want the solution.
Ok, I’ll leave it now…
But no peeking till you’ve tried the puzzle!
I’m convinced you can do it on your own…
But if you need to, AFTER you’ve done your best…
Seven tonight.
I’ll look for the other two when i can see better.
Good night people and pets.
Pleasant dreams. Or should I say, happy dreams?
Eight easy, now searching for #9.
I gave up. Missed another easy one. Good night!
I found all nine tonight.
I found all nine, spent some time looking for the last one, but it wasn’t where I thought it would be!
Funny how it always seems to be in the very last place you look.
…because you stop looking afterwards? – Just stating the obvious.
Um…. that’s why it’s a joke….
I know.
I got all nine this week.
Excelsior!
Got all nine.
Nine! I got NINE! Wow!
Almost quit with eight because I thought an artifact of one counted as the ninth. I didn’t trust that, so I kept looking and good golly, there was another one ☺
i got all 9 this morning, too! WooHoo!
Got ’em again! I’m getting too good! 😉
A kitty in the window makes a house look like a home.
The cat isn’t happy. 🙂
Brought over from “The Comic Strip…”.
You’ll laugh, but only because your stomach may be lurching.
Looks can be deceiving. For example, look at Cleo, sleeping peacefully on the rug.
