Rusty (Lee Aaker) was born in 1943.

Rin Tin Tin was nominally played by Rin Tin Tin III, grandson of the original war rescue and silent film star, German shepherd Rin Tin Tin…

But most of his scenes were actually filmed with a dog named Flame. Don’t know which this is.

“What were you for Halloween, Bobby?”

“A pancake.”

“Say what?”

Never mind the bull in the china shop. It’s like a rhino in an antique store.

Book Cover for “Jumanji” by Chris Van Allsburg

This quote:
According to Chris van Allsburg, the man who wrote the children’s book that inspired the film, Jumanji is actually a Zulu word for ‘many effects’.” comes from      HERE.

Um…. sure…

I’m guessing you’re joking, but just in case you’re not, or you do have trouble recognizing her…

she’s actually…
Marilyn Monroe
.

Actually, I recognized her… But it might be because not that long ago, I looked at a website full of old photos of her.

I was looking for a picture I’d seen before, and I posted it here, of her when she was 12 years old, and here it is again.

In some ways the even younger one above looks more like her adult face than this one…

You used to get those in Mad Magazine, right?

$18.50 worth of stamps would have been a pretty good haul from a magazine that probably cost $3 then.

I think the USPS actually sold those. And yes, I remember a short time when first class stamps were 37¢.

IIRC the Great Pumpkin rises up from the pumpkin patch. i.e. it does not come in overhead and through the air. Not only will an anti-aircraft gun be wasteful, it will be ineffective until the Great Pumpkin has already had the chance to swallow Cleo whole. It’s a bad plan, Cleo. Go back to square one.

Today’s Songs:
‘Saturday Night,’ ‘School Days,’ ‘Secret Agent Man,’ and ‘Shakin’ All Over,’ and the ‘Cheap Thrills Cuisine’ recipe ‘BBQ Stuffed Corn Husks.’
Despite the name, the group was neither U.S. nor named after a San Francisco nickname (Scotland, Edinburgh). Their name was chosen after throwing a dart at a map of the United States; it landed on Bay City, Michigan.
Up there with ‘Johnny B. Goode’ and ‘Nadine’ in my opinion.
The third theme song the show had. ‘The Theme From Danger Man’, theme for the original half-hour show (couldn’t find a copy anywhere on the net), ‘High Wire’ for the hour long version (copy below ), and, of course ‘Secret Agent Man’ in the U.S.. Both of the original themes were written by Edwin Astley. There is also a link to Wikipedia’s article about the late Patrick McGoohan (an interesting read).
One of the band’s several names prior to becoming the ‘Guess Who’ as a result of a publicity stunt by their label.
I’d be very careful about how close to the coals I put those husks.

This is unbelievably good news about Stel!

A few days ago nobody knew whether she was understanding their words, and she could only reply in monosyllables…

And now she seems to know her situation, and she’s talking in sentences?!

Wow!
That’s so great!

Thank you, Nighthawks!
