I feel like I slept like that guy last night. We had a “bomb cyclone” offshore, and the related windstorm whipped through Seattle. I was outside when the transformer blew, sending out a poof of smoke and a loud bang. Result; no GoComics, no Cleo, and no CPAP machine. I snored heavily and woke up frequently. Today I had a sore throat all day. Power came on around 7 AM. Looking forward to a good sleep tonight.
The most expensive part of this would be the 12V battery.
If you put the car battery in the room with you, then you might want a trickle charger to keep it up while the power is on. This starts looking less practical as you go along if you only anticipate needing it once a year. It gives you more incentive to go camping often.
Camping is great. Saw a couple of bears on the last hike down from Glacier Point to Yosemite Valley. Beautiful, but I don’t think I’ll do it again. My legs just aren’t as strong as they used to be, and I had trouble walking without a limp for the next two days. 🙂 My brother did well with his CPAP, though, and didn’t keep us awake with his stentorian snoring/snorting.
sure, your CPAP machine was out, but I’m sure when you told the power company that you couldn’t experience the Cleo fun site, they pulled in
workers on overtime to get you reconnected. After all, there are emergencies
and then there are EMERGENCIES!
I enjoyed all the extras tonight, though the Time Warp has a special place in my heart. My wife first saw Rocky Horror in Kenya, with no idea in advance what it was about. Her then boyfriend wanted to leave, but she insisted on staying. Atta girl!
Who knew; that the Basset Universe film industry had sound 630 basset years ago.
The human film industry, for once, did a very good job of adapting the “Frankenbasset” script to the human world (it must have done it immediately, as it made its version 90 human years ago (I’d bet it learned how to put sound in films from the basset side too).
I found a different human film poster for my picture link to “Frankenstein,” …..(you’ve read it before)….
I am reasonably sure that anybody who opens the link will, at the very least, enjoy the film’s opening. It lasts for only 2 minutes and 3 seconds, but there is a wealth of film techniques used throughout.
For an idea of how different the times were 90 years ago, at the 1 minute 21 second mark of the opening read the left hand third down “credit block” (that’s what I’m calling it, anyway).
A LINK to the opening speaker, Edward Van Sloan
And just in case…:
Just close out all the extraneous pop-ups without opening them. They will end, and the film will be there. It is often times necessary to clear some when you go to full screen, but at least there will be no more of them, once cleared.
[human (??) version]

You might try a deep-draw battery and an inverter to power your CPAP when your power’s out. My brother has used it successfully on our camping trips.
I just looked it up. Do you have a bank I can rob to pay for the inverter?
I’m checking for you. What brand CPAP are you trying to power?
ResMed
Me too.
A quick check shows a 24VDC charger for $36.99 on Amazon. Since it is set up for a car plug, I found a car plug to battery adapter for $9.99.
The charger is here:

Thanks for looking it up, Arfside. I’ll just hope the rare occasions we are without power are during the day.
We haven’t gone camping in about 20 years. :((

Otherwise the bears would have thought: “Darn it! – Already dibs on those ones.”

I do fear losing my CPAP machine. The last time I tried to sleep without it wasn’t pretty…
Jack Pumpkinhead (OZ)
I forgot…(08:15 hrs. E.D.T.)…
That’s Ozma of Oz with the axe.
I always did like Time Warp. I’m kinda surprised that no one covered it.

Just shows she chose wisely. Lucky for you!
The “Time Warp” needs some canine influence, but since I promised to resist posting that one…
😉
Some non-scary stuff:
Big brothers and their baby sister dress up for Halloween through the years…

Loved them all!

it’s national Black Cat day!
The first cat isn’t too impressed. But that last cat ~ scary!!
My black cat is white.
We’ve had all colors. Our black cat was named “Abbey” Normal. She was a hoot.
Black cats are best. 🙂
Navy day!
Time to switch to a submarine!
Wow! You don’t want to take those waves any way but straight on! Never let yourself get breached!
Sounds like the voice of experience.
Or pooped!
Retching now.
I know! me too!…….can’t imagine being on that vessel
Why I joined the Air Force.
I was just recovering from a re-watch of the Caine Mutiny. Thanks for the memories (urp…)
Great poster for the Frankenbasset series. Again, love the names!
It’s so hard to believe that a sweet, innocent girl named ‘Mary’ wrote this scary piece of literature!
There’s plenty of room behind the couch.
She was 19 when the idea for the story came to her.
More power to her.
And compared to her husband’s poetry…!
Frankenbasset … the hound that made a monster.
Good afternoon Cleo philm buphphs!
Pick your favorite.
Day of the deployed is mine.
