Just think, the people who bought those tickets were the lucky ones. They never boarded, never even saw, the Titanic. I wonder how many sought to get refunds, and how many decided to hold onto the ticket as a souvenir of sorts? How much do you think one of those original tickets would sell for today?

Titled: “Rocky Raccoon”
Todd Alcott based his mash up on the cover of the magazine in the attachment below.
The cover art is the work of Victor Prezio (1924 – 1976).
His biographical information is scattered all over in bits and pieces, that’s why I haven’t provided a link.
The information is worth jumping around for.
(further to yesterday)
My library had a copy of “Jumanji” available. Quoting from the two relevant paragraphs associated with nighthawks’ picture posting. HERE…
…She rolled again and waited in amazement. ” ‘Rhinoceros stampede, go back two spaces.’ “ As fast as he had fallen asleep, Peter awoke. Together they listened to a rumble in the hallway. It grew louder and louder. Suddenly a herd of rhinos charged through the living room and into the dining room, crushing all the furniture in their path. Peter and Judy covered their ears as sounds of splintering wood and breaking china filled the house.
The artwork is that of the author, Chris Van Allsburg.
The late Robin Williams starred in the 1995 film based (I’m guessing very loosely) on the book.
The book is 14 half pages of text with each being accompanied by a full page illustration opposite.
It took me less than 10 minutes to read; the movie runs 1 hour 59 minutes.
Today’s Songs:
‘Sherry,’ ‘She’s a Rainbow,’ ‘She’s Not There,’ and ‘Shrimp Boats,’ and the ‘Cheap Thrills Cuisine’ recipe ‘BBQ Stuffed Pork.’
We’ve had the video before. I failed to find the name of the woman who either actually is Sherry or portrays Sherry then, and have had no better luck this time.
The muse for ‘She’s a Rainbow’ is rumoured to be the late German-Italian actress Anita Pallenberg.
A suitably named group for the time of year.
Jo Stafford died at age 90 in 2008. I’ve included a link to her ‘L.A.Times’ obituary (again like Anne /-Honey-/ Lantree’s) there is a good deal of music history contained in it.
Just read Nighthawk’s update on Stel that he added to yesterday’s page. Really encouraging news, and I hope that the progress continues at a similar pace 🙂

Dennis and More Cats – thanks for posting that there was an update on StelBel yesterday.
It’s such good news that she’s thinking of the future. Let’s all hope that she does make it back to us soon.
.
“Are you serious? Are you even kidding me?
Those colors look fancy somehow.
NOSE!
,
“Would you like to hear a good ghost story?”
Well, this sentence is a link presenting evidence that this guy has certainly come back to haunt us.

White Star may have honored the tickets on one of their other vessels.
Warning: Don’t buy a ticket.
I just have a feeling.
A sinking feeling?
That poster is for the return voyage. It says leaving from NY. At worst, they lost their money.
I’m sure White Star Lines , who were. having a bit of a publicity problem at the time, probably repaid those folks

5, 8, 13, 15,16 and 17 I didn’t solve.
If you say so!
I’ve just copied the answers from the website in the picture.
I only recognize a few…
Now I’ve looked at the answers Tigressy found and some make no sense anyway.
Of course, I’m unfamiliar with the plots, so maybe the story gives a clue… otherwise why would “devil black llama”
And was there really a movie with title number 8?
Oh, OK, Google says there was.
It’s Iranian, from 2014, and it’s in Persian.
Gee … everybody’s seen that one, right?
That’s what I thought, too.
And yes; I’ve heard of that movie #8.
,
I prefer the series and the movie.
Should I assume this is not for the Jim Carrey movie?
I’m guessing that it’s fan art.
You are CORRECT.
Looks a bit like the work of “Big Daddy” Ed Roth.
..
But Danny was hot.
He drew first and shot.
And Rocky collapsed in the corner.
Rocky didn’t like that.
he said ‘I’m gonna get that boy’
Song visualised as comic book?

It’s even nicely framed. 😀
NOSE!
Looks like a car, photo taken by google-maps…
I thought the twins threw that ball?
Jack Nicholhound is perfect for the part!
I just read the Stel Bel update on yesterday’s post. Thank you Nighthawks, it makes me so happy!
“Heeere’s Rexxxie !!”
I’ve never even seen the movie, but I’ve seen that line enough, online and in trailers and posters, that it’s in my head! Not fair.
Brrrrr…. chills up my spine…. again…
You know, I think there’s even a pathetic human version of this movie.
Ha! How could it have the same scare value….
They found a human whose puny fangs are as terrifying as Jack Nicholhound’s??
Yeah, riiight….
…
Of course, that doesn’t mean I’m going to run out and see that one either.
Just because it’s not as scary, doesn’t mean it’s not scary at all.
I don’t think I could watch a My Little Pony version, if there were such a thing, or one starring marshmallows.
…
I mean… I couldn’t even get a really good look at this basset poster, cos I was already hiding behind the couch.
Somebody tell me how it turns out.
No… not the movie. Are you crazy?
I’m never going to see that. I won’t care how it turns out because I won’t know how it begins.
I mean the poster.
Nope! Not with that as a poster.
I’ll join the ladies behind the couch.
