Forgive me for being so self-indulgent, but I’m hoping that making a small tribute to Maxy can help me to move forward. Last week, he developed some complications from his diabetes and he was too sick to be saved. I suppose I was lucky that we had five extra years since his diagnosis.
During my life, I’ve had ten dogs…at one point, seven at once. Each and every one was very special and very much loved. Maxy was extra-special, from the time he jumped into my arms that first day when he was a puppy to the last breath he drew on Wednesday to now, as he lives in my memories and in my heart.
I don’t know how I ever would have gotten through the last five years since my husband died if it hadn’t been for Max being in my life. He helped me move forward and gave my life purpose.
I’m sorry that I’ve used this forum for such sad news. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to add some happier subjects in the comments now.
You are not being “self-indulgent”.
He was Maxy.
You loved him, he loved you.
You will always miss him.
Allow your memories of the happy times you had together to help ease your pain.
Stel, Max has been a beloved member of this community these many years. I am glad he was there for you in your grief. This is a nice tribute. My sypathies for your loss.
So sorry for your loss.
It’s heart-breaking to lose a dear friend and companion, human or other animal.
We’ve been there many times and are grateful to have friends all over the world to give us consolation.
You’re not alone.

Back to February 21, 2022 and comment number 23,944 to the recipe my mother used for cinnamon buns.
As I said there, I’ve made them and they’re good. CINMAMON BUN RECIPE LINK AT COMMENT 23,944

It’s also pizza month, so here is a nice healthy breakfast recipe.
I was going to try to answer everyone individually, but then it occurred to me that the more I wrote, the more it would start sounding trite and that’s the last thing I would want.
I am blown away by all the lovely, thoughtful, loving, comforting, supportive, and beautiful messages that you all offered. Each and every one made me feel better and better. This is the first day in almost a week that I’m starting to feel closer to normal. Yesterday, I really toyed with the idea of doing a tribute to Max, or even a brief announcement. Now, I’m glad that I did. I found that I did need the support and comfort from all my animal-loving friends here and, indeed, it helped immensely.
Thank you all for responding with all the warmth and grace that you did.You are all very special.

No need to apologize. I get it.
We all do.
Stel, there is nothing any of us can say to make it not hurt, but know that you have your caring friends for support.
Maybe we can all go out an howl at the moon tonight — he might hear us.

So sorry for your loss. We are always crushed when our pets cross the bridge ahead of us. He will always be a hero. 😪
Goodbye, Maxy…
I think maybe now you’re on your greatest adventure.
Run free, and bark at whatever you like.
We’ll be thinking about you.
…
My condolences, again, Stel…
….
I’ll keep on wearing this:
in honor of our little movie star.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Max has been a part of this group since he came into your life. He’ll be missed.

I can’t say more than what’s already been said. Just know I agree with everyone here. We all know the hurt and loss. This tribute to Max is great!
♥ I can’t express how sad I feel for you. I’m glad he was there when you needed him most. I hope we, your Clio family, can provide some solace now.♥

So sorry for the loss of your beloved Max. Sending healing hugs across the miles.
Max resembles the violinist on “Dust.”
Yes, he does.
Nice to see Christine in a starring role. And I hope Max will continue to be with you everywhere.
